Ningwu Liushan and Bai Longtian also looked back to see who it was, the former looked between the newcomer and his Junior Sister before deciding to leave it to her while the latter's lips dipped into a visible frown. Rong Jian slowly turned his head back with dark intent barely hidden in his eyes. Hearing his wifey address the other, recognition dawned on him but it quickly passed. He scooted over to stand behind his wife protectively, while Bai Longtian took his place at the front, wanting to distance himself.
Their staring contest ended when the other lady noticed Zhu Wangye standing behind Shen Tianyu and glowering at her, as if his glare could make her dissappear. "Zhu Wangye." She curtsied with a slight blush on her cheeks, as if she hadn't just insulted the fiancee he had chosen. Rong Jian didn't reply, choosing instead to hug Shen Tianyu from behind, placing his chin on top of her head. The latter leaned back into the embrace a little, her arms folded and a challenge in her eyes.
Noticing that the subject of her greeting hadn't so much as acknowledged her, Miss Yang stiffened and lifted herself back up of her own accord.
"When did I say rise?" A chilling voice echoed from right in front of her. Though she already knew, Miss Yang still looked up out of instinct to find the voice had emitted from the young lad hugging the woman whom she deemed as a "parasite". Seeing the hostility in his eyes, she quickly lowered her head and went back to her curtsied position. Shen Tianyu just watched on as if this whole situation had nothing to do with her at all.
She rewarded her fiancee with a pat on his cheeks on top of her head from her forward-facing position and reaching her hand back. She could feel his lips pull slightly upward as he held her hand and placed a light kiss on her palm.
"You two dogs, the door is about to open. Hurry up and get in line." Bai Yaoxuan clicked her tongue from behind the couple.
"Miss Yang is really ill mannered, we still haven't told you to rise yet and you still got up of your own accord. It really makes one wonder what this says of the Right-winged General's view of the royal family." Shen Tianyu said from her place, her voice carrying over the expanse of the crowd. "I wonder what they will demonstrate..." Bai Yaoxuan's expectations had lowered dramatically due to the Beast-taming department's circus exhibition.
"Probably a sword fight or something? It's not like they'll teach you some forms. There's really not a lot you can do to show off since these techniques were developed solely for combat purposes and not to show-off." The girls sat together again.
