Two students emerged on the pit, holding practice swords provided by the School. As expected, the Sword Department decided to have a small sword tournament with a few of the seniors. It erfectly fit the setting of the stadium, though, almost like a gladiator fight, except less dangerous and with more supervision. Thankfully, the seniors were mindful enough to let it devolve into a full-on fight, remembering to show some flashy moves or fly around a bit.
"What do you think the Poison Stage students will do for their exhibitions?" Shen Tianyu asked the young man sitting next to her.
"The Medical division is much more technical in nature than the Cultivation Division. I heard the Pill-making Stage last year literally just had their students make some pills and pass it out to a few lucky audience members. I didn't hear anything about the other Stages, though. Usually the people that go to watch those exhibitions are just there to get a feel of how the course will go, rather than for excitement." Rong Jian explained as his hand crept over to hold hers, which was restinig on the bench. She didn't react even when he got a hold of it, even squeezing back a little, so he took it as consent to keep holding on.
"Ah, that makes sense. Then, we'll exchange the last destination to a shopping trip on the main road instead. It'll be more exciting to roam around looking at the works of students than to watch a pill making. I'll register for a class in the Poison Stage either way anyways." Shen Tianyu shifted her gaze to Rong Jian, seeking his opinion on their change of plans.
"Okay. If Wifey sees anything she wants, I'll buy it for you." Rong Jian smiled.
"Ah, what's the currency for the market? There are four people here that doesn't have a single Chengyuan point." Shen Tianyu didn't mention that with her position, she could get things that even the some elders here would never get to see. The market was just a playplace for her, more than a necessary shopping place.
"Some students accept only Chengyuan points, while some except both yuan and Chengyuan points. Though the latter is really only avialble for the first market of the school year, especially for new students. All markets after this will only accept Chengyuan points. Though there are other secret transaction methods that aren't said openly, like trading a pill for a cultivation object."
"Mn. I might want some more advanced objects to see the level that students can reach under your School's elders' tutelage, will you still buy them for me?" Shen Tianyu stared up at him with childish innocence.
"Of course. In that case, I'll take you to the shops set up by some direct disciples of some elders."
"Direct disciples need to set up shop?" Shen Tianyu raised an eyebrow. With the title of an elder's direct disciple, people would be giving them benefits for free, why would they need to set up shop at the School market?

"Yes, mother timed it perfectly. After the Opening Day of Chengyuan School ends, we;ll head to the Imperial Palace immediately for the preparations. Thankfully, the Opening Day doesn't take too long." "Do you think you can have your people present her as an honored guest? I know the reputation of your place, but it also has another identity, doesn't it? Besides, a mere courtesan wouldn't be allowed to come to such an important event with the Managers." Rong Jian suggested that the Managers of Lavender Palace attend the event with Bai Yaoxuan.
"Hm... then I'll have to see her to Lavender Palace first and have them make her up." It was also a good time as any to familiarize her little sister with her assistants so they won't be too awkward. Though if she was going to be this close to her business, it looks like she will have to arrange a full-time bodyguard for Bai Yaoxuan just in case.

"If they were fighting for points or something, that might be more interesting but this show just makes their swordsmanship, and the Sword Department, look like a farce. What is so captivating about adventures and battles is the tension and possible danger it brings, there's not even been a single scratch all this time, this is worse than the circus put up by the Beast-taming department, in my opinion."
"This years show certainly is mediocre. But wifey, with your skills, even if they fought seriously, you wouldn't put it in your eyes[1], would you?"
