Thankfully, Shen Tianyu's class was on the third floor so she didn't need to walk all the way to the top, not that the third and fourth floor made much of a difference.

Though she always inherently felt the topmost floor of a building, especially wooden buildings with no air conditioners were the hottest. Maybe it was a psychological trick of those floors being closer to the ball of destructive fire known as the sun?

She found her classroom to be in the middle of the long hall, where it wouldn't be the brunt of sunlight in both mornings and late afternoons. With a light mood, despite knowing who else would be waiting inside, she opened the door and entered in a polite manner.

Looking around the room, the teacher, who was supposed to be standing at the podium was yet to be there. There were only less than a handful of students sitting in whichever seats they wanted. The room, along with the podium and writing board, could only hold about twenty seats and tables. The tables were low tables only usable if you sat on the floor or knelt while the seats were nothing more than cushions to ease the pain of kneeling for a long time. One can even see the years on both objects, with some having minor scratches, discoloration, or sunken centers. Since Shen Tianyu was in the batch of the first to arrive, she naturally chose a seat with better conditions. There was a stack of five sheets of paper on each desk along with the necessary writing tools, a brush, ink stone and ink stick.

'I really need to practice using a brush more...' Shen Tianyu gave a helpless sigh seeing no cinnabar sticks. Thankfully, she always brought along her own cinnabar stick so she took out hers from her bag along with a book to read as she waited.

Shen Tianyu zoned out the noise around her as more and more people entered the room and seated themselves. There were a few that recognized her and tried to greet her, and she politely greeted them back before she returned to her book. Suddenly, a loud and unpleasant yet familiar voice sounded beside her.

"Hey, move it. I want that seat." Shen Tianyu looked around the classroom to find a few seats still unoccupied.

"There are plenty of other empty seats, feel free to choose one of those." Shen Tianyu didn't even bother to look at her.

"I said I want this seat, since there are so many available seats, you can find another one for yourself."

"Ever heard of 'first come, first serve'? I got here first so this seat is mine, please go find your own." It's not like Shen Tianyu didn't know what the other was doing. Since she was adamant on causing trouble then Shen Tianyu wouldn't back down either.

"I've never heard of that phrase. Maybe it's just your imagination? Are you going to move or not?"

"If you're not going to move, then I'll just make you!" Shen Tianyu could practically heat Miss Yang grit her teeth.

"Have you had enough? Class is about to start." Shen Tianyu caught her slap, griping it with just enough strength not to break it but made sure it hurt enough to feel like it did.

"Urgh! Let go of me!" Miss Yang tried to pry her hands away but her strength couldn't match Shen Tianyu's. Of course, Miss Yang was a treasured and sheltered rich girl, while Shen Tianyu had trained her body since before she was 10. Even if they had the same cultivation base, there would be a slight difference.

The door to the classroom opened and Shen Tianyu turned towards it to see an almost fifty year old man walk into the room with a single book, the thickness of half a normal textbook in her old world, tucked in his arm. Miss Yang was still struggling to get her hand out of Shen Tianyu's hold.

"What's going on here?" The man, who Shen Tianyu assumed was their teacher, looked over at the pair of girls.

"Teacher, she attacked me!" Miss Yang put on a pitiful look that couldn't even convince an infant.

"You're the one that tried to hit me after unsuccessfully ushering me out of my seat." Shen Tianyu raised her eyebrow at her as she finally released the grip she had on the other's hand. Miss Yang quickly pulled back her arm and had the intention of lashing out again but managed to hold back her instincts since the teacher was right there. She grumbled her way to an empty seat two columns from Shen Tianyu.

The teacher just narrowed his eyes and didn't really dish out any punishments or lecture them. In a school that housed people of all social classes, it wasn't rare to have a few scuffles between students, especially girls. As long as it wasn't anything too serious, he wouldn't delve too deep into it. He walked up to the podium and started his lecture.

The first day was just mostly introducing the atmosphere of the Demonic Forest and a few herbs that grew in it's outermost periphery. There were some interesting facts that Shen Tianyu wrote down as she had always concentrated on what was inside and not much on the environment nor the herbs outside the Demonic Forest itself. She was aware the environment affected the growth of the unique herbs in the Demonic Forest but that was really about it. Even so, her notes only covered a single sheet of paper. It was mostly key phrases so she can remember what they meant when reviewing. When the lecture was over, many students stayed behind to wait for their notes to dry before packing up and leaving. Since Shen Tianyu used her cinnabar stick and the amount of notes she took were far less than others, she immediately folded her sheet of paper and put it in her Cosmo Pouch before getting up to leave.
