Even Ningwu Liushan and Bai Longtian stuttered in shock but it soon passed over. As young masters of influential family themselves, they naturally didn't worship talismans as much as other people. It just surprised them that their new friend was able to defeat someone with one with seemingly no effort.
Lun Aoman, unfortunately, lost to the second place from Shen Tianyu's first group. When it was Shen Tianyu's turn to fight, she threw in the towel immediately.
"I wasn't intending on taking up the placements. I just had a bet with Yang Lihua. Now that the arrangement has been fulfilled, there's no more reason for me to fight." Shen Tianyu shrugged. The other woman didn't pursue it any further and accepted Shen Tianyu's resignation. She knew she probably wouldn't be able to beat her if they really fought.
At the end of the Sword Tournament, the girl that had achieved second place in her first round ended up being the champion of the event. Shen Tianyu sat at second and Lun Aoman got third.
By the time the participants were all let out, the sun was nearly touching the horizon. Rong Jian and the group were waiting for Shen Tianyu near the exit of the stadium.
"Ah-Chang!" A masculine voice sounded from behind as Shen Tianyu was walking towards her fiancee and friends.
A whoosh of wind found Lun Aoman dashing madly towards a teen girl standing not far away from the exit. However, before he could crash into her, he abruptly braked, causing his body to swing forward and back from the momentum. And then, he gently wrapped her in a delicate hug, as if he was handling something precious.
"Looks like Xiao Chang managed to get away from her stall to welcome her brother back. What a good girl." Shen Tianyu commented as she fell into step beside Rong Jian.
"Indeed. It seems she cares deeply for her brother despite her usual cold attitude." Ningwu Liushan was more or less familiar with the siblings since he often saw Shen Tianyu with them, more specifically she was chatting with Lun Chang while the older brother followed along like a lackey.
Bai Yaoxuan didn't comment as she has been busy with her own schedule and catching up on lessons so she hasn't seen Shen Tianyu's new friends very much. The most she knew was through the stories her sister told when they had free time together.
"By the way Yaoyao, how will you take your exam?" Shen Tianyu fell back beside Bai Yaoxuan as the group walked to the entrance of the School grounds.
"Hm? Well... the requirements are a bit lower for late admissions students since we need time to catch up. Apparently, we'll just be taking a written test and participations in the showcasing of one's department isn't required for us." Bai Yaoxuan had enrolled into the Talisman and Array department but it was hard to showcase something for that subject. Due to the nature of the Ancient Script used, most practitioners stayed way after graduation to grasp it better. The first few years were spent memorizing the various characters and their meanings.
The most basic rules of the Ancient Script, usually shortened to the Script, was similar to Chinese characters. A single character can have multiple meanings and only when paired with another character is one able to show an exact meaning. However, the major problem, that have stunned practitioners for generations, is that a single Ancient Script character can have opposing definitions depending on which other character it's paired with. That's why, even now, there were many talismans being invented. By changing even a single character, and as long as you do it right, you can create a completely new talisman. There were difficulties when creating new talismans though, both technical and social, so not many practitioners were as enthusiastic as Wei Xianying in churning out new creations.

The little group parted at the gate, Ningwu Liushan and Bai Longtian boarding their own carriage back while Rong Jian, Shen Tianyu and Bai Yaoxuan went back to the Zhu Wangfu. None of them were participating in the next day's events but it didn't hurt to wander around and watch.
Ningwu Liushan and Bai Longtian got special clearance from the Sword Department due to their grades so they weren't required to appear at the Sword Tournament today. If they had, they probably would have been fierce contenders for first place, along with Shen Tianyu as long as she didn't give up.
Bai Yaoxuan cited that she needed to study some more before her department's test came up and excused herself to her room first.
Though they were missing someone, dinner between Rong Jian and Shen Tianyu wasn't awkward at all. They even went on a walk around the estate after the meal to help digestion.
