"Ah, so that is the case... Of course, if it's what you two decide than we have no objections but, I think it is still better to have a female sitting in that seat..." Kuian Xiaoli suggested.

"Of course, there were many people that took care of me, and more than a few females at that. We can easily settle that on our end." Shen Tianyu responded.

"Alright then. Moving on..." The Empress confirmed the preparations of the wedding ceremony with them. The celebration will once again be held in the Banquet Hall, though Shen Tianyu won't be participating in that. The decorations were to be of the finest they had adorning every corner of the Imperial Palace. The two of them were to spend the night at the courtyard belonging to Zhu Wangye before returning to Zhu Wangfu the next day.

All five princes had a residence within the Imperial Palace, though they spent most of their time outside. The Empress managed their palaces as they remained empty. The palaces within the Imperial Palace were originally built for the various women of the Emperor, but since Kuian Guoliang only had one woman and no intention to take more, a few of the more luxurious ones were given to the five princes to stay in when necessary. The rest of the courtyards were incorporated into guest rooms for important diplomats.

Rong Jian and Shen Tianyu didn't have much of an opinion when it came to the wedding's decorations and such. Shen Tianyu herself wouldn't be able to see or participate in most of the festivity, as it was traditional for the bride to wait in her newly wedded husband's bedroom for her man. IT was Rong Jian who would be participating in the festivities and talking to and welcoming the guests but he was a man of few words to begin with. Not to mention, he also didn't care much for the festivities and just wanted to get all the ruckus over with so her could officially spend time with Shen Tianyu as her husband.

So, everything was basically dumped onto the Empress. Kuian Xiaoli didn't have any complaints though, as there was not much for her to do in the back palace and it was tiring paying chess games with her words when attending other noble ladies' parties so this was the perfect excuse to get away from those uncomfortable social necessities for a while. In fact, she was the most excited one out of everyone involved.

When was there a need to contemplate where to put the "luck" word or, who sits where, or who to invite and who to not invite and what should be served to who. and who couldn't eat what, and who shouldn't be seated near who. About the only one with experience about planning weddings were the Empress and the absent Emperor so they just trusted her to do everything well.

They went home once the sun started to set and promised to come again the next day to continue with the checking up and introducing Muo Jeng to the Emperor. Shen Tianyu is tasked with picking out which elder will be sitting in the place of her "mother".

...

"I think Elder Yu would do." Shen Tianyu and Muo Jeng were discussing the matter of her "mother" seat in the main room of Muo Jeng's courtyard. The latter had wanted to come in and see Shen Tianyu's room but was rejected on the grounds of impropriety.

"Why Old Yu?" Muo Jeng sipped his cup of tea.

"Elder Yu is mature and calm. Though she doesn't like to say too much, she is good with words and finding nuances and people's intentions. Those officials and their wives would definitely try to dig up some dirt to cause trouble at the celebration. I won't be there, and your social skills in these kinds of environments are basically non-existent. Elder Gui is too boisterous and childlike, her naivete could bring trouble. Elder Su is too straightforward and would probably puke blood if she were to be pitted against those high-level people that goes through eighteen turns before getting to their main point. Elder Ou is too soft-spoken and not suited for these kinds of situations and environments. At the very least, Elder Yu can dodge answering probing questions and help both of you survive." Shen Tianyu explained with her cheeks in her hand.

"Everything would be easier if you would just come out with your position..." Muo Jeng lamented.

"You're too naïve, old geezer." Shen Tianyu scolded. "Currently, no one dares to make a move on Yaodu is because they don't know who their current Master is. You are the Former Master, and even if you still held power, there is a successor already prepared so getting rid of you would just be focusing our fire onto themselves. No one who leads a Sect or organization is foolish enough to put themselves in danger. They didn't bother to make a move before because you were recluses. Though you possessed some amazing techniques but you didn't bother with communication or trade with the outside world. To the point that many of your members worked as mercenaries to make a living. In other words, it was part looking down on you and partly not feeling like you were a threat."
