"My headaches are because of you." He grinded out through gritted teeth as he looked around outside to make sure she wasn't followed before he closed the door.

Xuan Lingwen laid the youth on the couch in the living room and went to get the emergency first aid kit Mr. Li kept in the kitchen. The youth's eyes didn't move from her figure the entire time, which Mr. Li found a bit disturbing as he went to pour some water for them. The youth's eyes didn't move from her figure the entire time, which Mr. Li found a bit disturbing as he went to pour some water for them.

"Should I go tell your mom you're here?" He asked as he placed the two glasses on the table.

"Yes please." Xuan Lingwen answered from the kitchen immediately.

Mr. Li sighed once more as he put on a simple jacket and left to go upstairs and inform Madam Xuan, who was probably anxiously awaiting her daughter's return.

Why would a grown, responsible, adult male leave two teenagers of opposite genders alone in his apartment, you ask? Well, because he was aware Xuan Lingwen was no average teenage girl. In fact, she was as much a responsible and mature adult than he.

"You're still in your teenage years so don't you have a crush or something?" He asked her once during one of their outings to look at the necessary business infrastructures. He was fully aware she didn't have friends at the time, merely seeing her quick return each day.

"No. Why? Is it necessary in some way?" She had tilted her head and asked.

"... You really don't feel anything towards boys in your grade? Or men in general? Not that older men are legal for you since you're underage."

"No." She had swiftly denied.

"... Are you aromantic?"

"Wouldn't people usually ask if I'm asexual? Since this is the age of sexual attraction rather than romance."

"Well, are you aromantic or asexual?"

"Don't know." And so, Mr. Li determined she was probably asexual or aromantic despite not getting a clear answer.

Even as she treated his wounds with disinfectant, the youth didn't move a muscle. Xuan Lingwen was starting to think he really did get a concussion and would need to be sent to the hospital for checkup.

Xuan Lingwen sighed as she bandaged his bruises. 'What a bother I've come across. We don't exactly have the money to go to the hospital, especially for some random stranger. How problematic. If I just leave him be, people will probably point at me and said I abandoned someone in need or whatever. Not that I mind really, but mother would suffer from being accused of not teaching her daughter well. Ugh... What to do...'

"... Kurama." The youth finally made a sound.

The youth swallowed and tried again. "Kurama. Kurama Shuten."

"Kurama Shuten? Is that your name?" She asked him, glad that he finally spoke. 'Looks like we won't need to take him to the hospital.'

The youth nodded.

"Hello Kurama. My name is Xuan Lingwen." She gave a business smile as she introduced herself. He merely nodded in return.

"That name sounds Japanese... are you not from around here? Is that why those delinquents were bullying you?" He nodded again.

'...He's not talking again...' Xuan Lingwen closed the lid of the emergency kit but didn't get up from the fur rug she was kneeling on. "Well, where do you live? We have to take you back even if Big brother Li is kind enough to allow you to stay. It'll be troublesome if a 'Missing Persons' report is filed and they find you here. We could be charged with kidnapping you know?" She told him. 'And that reputation won't be good for the company since Mr. Li is the one taking care of everything legal-related.'

"... Don't have one." He finally replied.

"...Eh? You don't have home?" He nodded.

"Do you have parents?" He shook his head.

"A legal guardian?" Again, he shook his head.

"Then, do you stay at an orphanage or a relative's place?" He shook his head once again.

"..." Xuan Lingwen just stared in disbelief. 'What the f*ck is up with this anime-esque setting? Legally, if you don't have parents or relatives, you're sent to an orphanage, how can you not have an orphanage to stay at? This is real life dammit, the government has a system in place to deal with orphaned kids in first world countries! And as far as I know, this place isn't a third world country for sure!'

"How are you even still alive?' She sighed as she held her head. This was the 21st century, no one throws food on the side of the street and orphaned children don't live in camps in the slums, fighting nail and tooth for a single piece of bread. And sure, homeless people dug throw trash bins for food, but they're not underaged children.

"..." He just stared blankly at her as if she didn't understand her question.

"Well then, how do you know your last name?"

"Parents."

"Your parents told you your last name?" He nodded.

"Okay, so they died and you had no relatives to take you in. No one came to tell you, you're not to go to a government managed orphanage or something?" It might sound harsh but he said he didn't have parents now so that's an obvious conclusion, right?

He shook his head. So, no government agent or whatever told him to go to an orphanage. The only reason that could be, in Xuan Lingwen's book, is if his parents weren't working within the law. Therefore, A. The government wasn't aware of his existence, or B. They didn't care.

'Honestly, it's strange for a foreigner to be here without parents or a guardian... was his parents part of the Japanese yakuza or worked with the Chinese mafia and got killed? Oh dear, just what did I bring back... I'm sorry big brother Li, it looks like I have brought you great trouble.' Xuan Lingwen cried streams of tears on the inside.
