"The Ghost-faced Bees are also about the same size but they can fly. Whenever they come, they fight with the Demon Rats for the crops and that's where all the holes in our houses come from. We haven't had anyone being directly attacked byt hem but it's only a matter of time before someone dies! As for the Black Eagles... we see them fly over the forest but they never get close to our village but it's still frightening nonetheless."
"When did these demonic beasts come here? Do you haven any idea why they came to reside so close?" It was indeed strange for demonic beasts to be residing right next to a human village and yet haven't directly attacked the humans. Since for most of them, humans are food.
"Thank you, Village Chief. Then, we'll take our leave now. Is there possibly anywhere we can stay for the night?" Shen Tianyu deemed it was useless to interact with this Village Chief and excused themselves.
"Yes, yes. There's an abandoned shack on the edge of the village. It used to be the home of a certain family but they moved about as soon as these incidents started happening. Tsk, how unloyal. The shack was indeed deserted and at the edge of the village, close to the fields where the Demon Rats and Ghost-faced Bees are rumored to appear. However...
"Everyone, stay alert and have your signals ready. We'll take turns resting as we did during the carriage ride. Be warned that we might have to evacuate before the sun rises." Shen Tianyu warned as she approached the door of the silent residence with her hand on the hilt of her sword.

"Tianyu?" Everyone looked at her questioningly but the people in her group still reached into their bags and put their hands on the signal flares.
Without answering, Shen Tianyu kicked open the door with her sword drawn and only after making sure that there really weren't any signs of life inside, did she sheathe her weapon and beckon the others to come inside. It was quite cramped for ten people so a couple had to stand right outside the door.
"Lingling, what's wrong?" Bai Yaoxuan was the first to ask.
"Do you guys see the state of this house? How is it compared to the other houses of the village we saw?" Shen Tianyu asked as she knocked on the wall closest to her. The only places that can be considered holes was the window barred by wooden planks and the door they came in through.
"It's... in a pretty good state. What about it? Isn't it good we get a good roof over our heads?" One of Ningwu Liushan's teammates voiced out in dissatisfaction from the door.
"Are your ears for decoration?" Shen Tianyu scolded him even though she couldn't see him through the crowd. Her group members and the two Young Masters' expressions were already darkening. Bai Yaoxuan seemed only a step behind.
"What did the Village Chief just tell us? That the Demon Rats and Ghost-faced Bees fight over the fields. Is this shack not the closest one to the fields? So why is it in such pristine condition when the other houses, which are further in, are falling apart?" Shen Tianyu continued with an expression screaming 'How did this idiot even pass the School's examination?'.
Of course the other party couldn't see her expression but there was an audible gulp from the direction his voice had come from.
