"The wave isn't ending. Perhaps we should call for help and select another mission?" Ningwu Liushan suggested with sweat dotting his forehead. The students that failed their mission and returned usually would have to pick another mission to complete, an easier one perhaps. Since this program was set up to help the defenseless civilians.

"Yeah. This is way too suspicious, can someone send a signal or tell the one of the people behind to do so?" Shen Tianyu didn't dare to glance back even if she was behind the two Young Masters. She had to maintain her concentration if she didn't want an accident to happen.

"They have good formation, are you sure this is your team's first time?" Ningwu Liushan fell back and was about to send the signal flare when he glanced at the group of four behind them.

The three medics were running behind Ming Yunyue while Nian Yingge helped as dual support. Lun Chang, being the one with the highest level of medical ability determined by her department, or level, was protected even by the other male medic from Ningwu Liushan's team. They actually weren't that behind the main group on the ground as anyone injured to the point it affected their fighting would fall back and the medics would treat them while the pair were protected by the two additional medics and Ming Yunyue briefly stepped up to take their place in the defensive wall.

Lun Chang, as a completely non-combative personnel treated most of the injuries while the other two acted as medical storage bags when she was running low on a salve or something.

"They're just talented. It also surprises me that they can do everything so calmly and well when it's their first fight and such a big one at that." Shen Tianyu replied even though she didn't glance back.

A few moments later, she heard a loud bang from behind her and the area around them seemed to get brighter. Even so, Shen Tianyu didn't let down her guard.

...

"Tian'er!" When Shen Tianyu thought they had gotten rid of almost all the Ghost-faced Bees did she hear a different voice from the ones accompanying her.

"Come help wipe out the Demon Rats!" Shen Tianyu had more time to check the situation on the ground since she was almost done dominating the airspace of the battlefield.

Unfortunately, the group on the ground didn't make as much progress as her. Halfway through, Ningwu Liushan and Bai Longtian saw the Ghost-faced Bees thinning out and went down to help the ground unit. Despite almost devoting their whole force and even the medics to the ground unit, they were far behind Shen Tianyu in terms of extermination.

She wasn't blaming them for being slow, in her opinion, they were doing great for their fist time and these two species of demonic beasts were indeed troublesome even for veterans. The Ghost-faced Bees can drop dust balls that can impair vision while their stingers are coated with poison that can cause people to be paralyzed for up to a week. The Demon Rats, on the other hand, are a vicious bunch that care more about the group than about their own selves. Once they target someone as an enemy, they'll keep attacking wave after wave without regard to their own lives. And, to make it worse, their teeth and nails are lined with venom to cause one's body to start decaying if proper medicine is not given.

Thankfully, they had stocked up on plenty of medicine to fight against these when they took on the mission so no one has started panicking yet.

"Jun Wangye, Ah-Jian, and fellow seniors." Shen Tianyu greeted their backup when she landed and pushed to the front with them. The ones that have been fighting all this time must have been tired. And considering the cultivation of the new ones that came, it shouldn't be long until they were finished.

...

The three groups were guarding near the forest as they patched everyone up and rested a bit more from the fight.

"The amount of demonic beats here is abnormal. We should go back and report this instead of continuing on." Someone suggested. Everyone else agreed as they were also tired out from the fight.

The only one among the group of freshmen who seemed fine was only Shen Tianyu despite her doing the most fighting out of all of them. She collected all her weapons except her sword when just a little bit before they finished exterminating the Demon Rats. She was standing guard next to the tired students.

"In that case, we'll escort you back." Jun Wangye didn't have his jovial attitude anymore. As a General in the army, his battle senses were among the top of the class. Even he felt something was amiss.

"That number of demonic beasts can take over several villages in succession and maybe a city or two yet they stubbornly stick to the forest of this one village. There's definitely something wrong with the forest and perhaps even the village." Shen Tianyu offered.

"Yes! So-" Another young man whose fear seemed to have caught up to him by now quickly stood up as if to signal everyone to hurry up and leave. However, he got up too suddenly and he was still wounded so he swayed on his feet before being helped to sit back down.

"However... I don't think it'll be that easy." Shen Tianyu glanced at the villagers peeping at them through the holes in their residences. They had been watching the entire time and though it was lucky that they didn't come out to cause trouble, they still haven't come out even now.

"Did you see something, Tian'er?" Rong Jin also glanced in that direction but didn't seem to sense anything out of place.

"How many people have made it back from these two missions?" She asked.
