In these Monuments are relics, treasures and secret techniques left by the Monument's creator.

Because of that, there are always a number of people vying to find and enter a Ruin. However, not everyone can get something from the Ascendant Monuments so most return empty-handed. And precisely because of that, there is usually a lot of looting after the Ascendant Monument closes.

"Should we go in?" Shen Tianyu, unlike the others, was not as impressed with the gate.

"Are you youngsters done with admiring the gate? You won't be getting anything if you stay out here." Muo Jeng hurried the members.

"Young Master?!" Another group of people dressed in all black emerged from the fog of miasma.

"Oh." Rong Jian was the one to respond to them.

"Your people?" Shen Tianyu asked from the side.

"I did hear they were going to come here to check this out. I forgot they were here." Rong Jian nodded.

"Young Master, you came too? Why didn't you tell us!" The man who had shouted before opened his mouth again.

"Then, tell them to hurry up and come in. If they keep standing around, the competition will catch up to us." Shen Tianyu furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance. In order to cull the competition for the relics within Ascendant Monuments, some people will try to kill their competitors even before they enter the Ruins.

"You guys. Come." Rong Jian said to the man in front without acknowledging what he said before and turned back to Shen Tianyu.

The group in black obediently lined up behind Rong Jian as the couple walked up to the gate. Shen Tianyu put her hands up and pushed open the doors. Unexpectedly, the heavy-looking stone doors opened easily under the small girl's hands.

The doors gave off a loud creaking noise that echoed throughout the valley.

"The Monument! Someone's going in!" Someone still within the fog yelled.

The emeralds within the eyes of the lion's head, which could have been mistaken for doorknobs, began to glow as the door was further pushed open. When the gap was wide enough, Shen Tianyu abandoned the door and entered the Ascendant Monument. Rong Jian, Yaodu, and the members of Rong Jian's organization followed suite immediately.

The inside of the Ascendant Monument was a different realm that was only connected to the outside world by the gate. The inside didn't seem to have a roof, unlike a castle or mansion. It seemed to be inside a mountain, though, with the rocky walls and paved stone road. When one looked up, they could only see the darkness of a chasm, making them question whether they were walking right-side up. The surroundings were just as suffocatingly black. Thankfully, both groups and the couple came prepared. A few from each group took out a Night Pearl to light up their surroundings, causing Shen Tianyu who had reached into her Cosmo Pouch to retrieve her hand.

Rong Jian held on to Shen Tianyu's hand as soon as they entered.

"Everyone, let's make haste but remember to be careful. Safety above all else." Shen Tianyu didn't shake him off and instead addressed everyone else.

"Young Master, this lady is..." The seeming head of the black clad group walked up to Rong Jian and tried to ask.

"Madam." Rong Jian answered. The man looked even more confused than before.

"I just married Ah-Jian a short while ago so it's only natural you don't recognize me. I'm Shen Tianyu." She explained in Rong Jian's place. The man looked at his boss for confirmation, who nodded in reply and squeezed her hand.

The group proceeded through the terrain, creating a natural circle around the couple and keeping a lookout around them for danger or other cultivators. Since they had just met, the two groups naturally separated the protective circle in half. Yaodu surrounded Shen Tianyu, while Rong Jian's subordinate made up the other half of the circle. The two, in turn, looked like as if they were just walking through the park.

They soon reached a chasm in the ground that they could not see the bottom of. The other side of the chasm was also not visible from their current position. Some people were standing around in confusion or frustration written on their faces. Shen Tianyu looked around them at the walls. The path they took actually wasn't too wide, though it could accommodate a few people standing shoulder to shoulder.

"Let's look for clues." Shen Tianyu said as she walked towards the right wall with Rong Jian in tow. The two groups dispersed into lookouts and the team searching for clues. Rong Jian looked around too but made sure to keep Shen Tianyu within his field of view.

Shen Tianyu, for her part, knocked and tapped on the rocks and stones of the wall. There walls didn't have a convenient small piece sticking out to indicate it was a mechanism so they had to knock around.

"Hey, they're over there! The ones that made a headstart!" A voice not belonging to their circle echoed from the path they had traversed.  Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%E2%80%99s-courtesan-wife_11622167006444805/tianhao-ruins-(9)_52197199357989614 for visiting.

Shen Tianyu didn't even seem to acknowledge the voice as she continued knocking on the wall. She seemed to find the spot strange as she looked up above her head. However...

"I want to look at the spot up there." Shen Tianyu tugged on Rong Jian's arm and pointed to a spot above them. She completely shut out the outside noises of the latecomers arguing with the lookouts and a few of the people who were supposed to be looking for clues.

Rong Jian easily lifted Shen Tianyu up onto his shoulders. "Can you reach?"

"Yeah. Let me check this." Shen Tianyu pushed on the spot she thought was suspicious and a faint, mechanized whirring sounded. The spot, the square the size of her palm remained indented in the rock as another square the same size emerged next to it. Like a door, the stone square piece slid up o reveal yet another compartment. This little box-like space held a stone statue of a young stately man holding a sword in his hand, seemingly ready to strike.
