"Little Xu. You're the most accomplished in Ancient Script within this group. Go have a look at the pillar." Elder Yu singled out one of the older members but kept the statues in her hands.

The member singled out didn't look like he belonged here at all. He was the picture definition of a bookworm, albeit a bit more handsome than most. His clothes were simple yet neat, his figure was as thin as a willow and he gave off a stately air. His hands were held behind his back while he stood upright.

"Yes, Elder." He answered simply and walked up to the pillar. He was a head taller than Shen Tianyu so he was able to see the cornice of the pillar without any help. The rest of Rong Jian and Shen Tianyu's subordinates as well as the third parties wanting some treasure, waited for him to decipher the Ancient Script.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #%E2%80%99s-courtesan-wife_11622167006444805/tianhao-ruins-(11)_52246075548958424 for visiting.

As to why no one tried to show off when the one taking the challenge was so young-looking was because this was real life and not a novel. Who doesn't want to have treasures fall into their l.a.p.s without them needing to do anything? If the youngster can solve the puzzle, all of them can pass without any problem. If he couldn't they could just send one of their own. Either way, this bunch were the ones who ran in here first so it's only natural they charge into any of the Monument's challenges first also.

Shen Tianyu picked up one of the statues that were held in Elder Yu's hands and examined them.

"What's wrong with them, Wifey?" Rong Jian asked as he stood beside her.

"I want to see if we can differentiate which one represented which part of his life. I think the puzzle probably has something to do with his history." She replied as she looked at the bottom of the statue's base.

"I've deciphered most of the Script. May I see the stone statues?" After a while, the young man who went to look at the pillar came back and asked for the stone statues.

Shen Tianyu immediately handed them over. "Here. I was about to give up looking for their time period representations."

The man merely glanced at the statues before placing them into the slots on the pillar. After the last one was placed, the Script on the pillar emitted a bright red light that can be seen even from below it.

Ka-thunk Ka-thunk

"Wha-What's going on?! Why is it glowing red?! Hey, did your quack misinterpret it?!" One of the parasites yelled at the group of Yaodu members, not knowiing who was in charge.

However, the Yaodu members remain unmoved and didn't bother to answer him as they gazed languidly at the pillar. Rong Jian's subordinates were agitated for a second but seeing their Young Master's calm and unfettered appearance made them quash those anxieties immediately and display a collected image. Though their unease didn't completely subside but they were experts at masking their emotions.

The pillar extended further from the ground and started to fall forward, towards the bottomless chasm. The section of the pillar after, what they had initially assumed was the base, was a simple white marble column. There were no further decorations or protrusions signaling a different section. When the pillar was tilted halfway, at forty-five degrees, it stopped falling over and started to transform instead. The pillar, which was originally circular, started to bulge into the geometrical shape of a large rectangular prism. As it continued to extend, it started to unfold into a long bridge with two of it's folds serving as handles or low walls. Two sides of the pillar became the walkway, enough to fit two people walking side by side. Once it was done unfolding, it continued to fall down.

Brrrr... Clunk

The mechanical whirring stopped as the pillar ceased to move any further. The end of the pillar bridge can not be seen but at least they now knew for sure there was another side where they could continue to explore.

Why didn't the stone statues fall throughout this whole ordeal was a complete mystery. Even when the pillar fell out of sight, no one saw the stone statues moving from where they had been placed.

'Hmn... It probably was not magnetism so maybe there was a clasp on them at the base? It's worth a look in to later. This whole Monument seems to be quite... interesting.' Shen Tianyu thought as she looked over the stone bridge now connecting them to the other side of the chasm.

"Why don't you gentlemen go first?" Shen Tianyu motioned the people behind them by stepping to the side and pointing politely with her hand.

"What! Why should we go first, who knows what dangers lie there?!" One of them objected.

"Isn't that what an Ascendant Monument is supposed to do? If you could just walk in and loot the place, why would you need so many people with you? Besides, none of us knows what's going to happen. This pat of the path might collapse as a new one has now opened before us. And weren't you guys the ones making a fuss about us getting a head start? Well with this, we're even now." Shen Tianyu retorted.

Some of the more anxious ones looked hesitant but stepped onto the bridge first nonetheless. The others uneasily followed, constantly glancing back at the two unmoving groups. Shen Tianyu waited until the last of them stepped onto the bridge did she get on herself, motioning for the others to come as well.

"Why did you let them go first?" The young man from the Ke family of Xi Qi, Ke Qingyan came up to ask her from behind.

"If you're lucky, you'll see why soon." Shen Tianyu replied with her arms behind her head. She seemed like she was going to start whistling any second, not fitting in with the tense atmosphere at all.
