Inside the core of Sword Art Online, the management system resided. It is purely a world of black, with golden coding flowing like water continuously.

As the system responsible for running SAO, it can easily see the entirety of SAO using real-time cameras.

On one of the said monitors, the video of Shiro and Kuroneko kiting and killing monsters is present. It's the fourth time that this had happened, but Cardinal finally managed to close the entrance of the damned dungeon.

From 24 hours, it reduced its duration to 8 hours. Coupled with the fact that two of Shiro's guildmates are facing against the 26th floor boss right now, it thought that it successfully did a damage control.

Unbeknownst to it, one last player had entered into the hole...

*****

Using the sides of the hole as footholding, Shinji managed to reduce the impact by jumping from one wall to another until he reached the ground.

Boom-!

As he landed, what he saw is a purple sphere expanding in a fast pace before exploding, causing a huge shockwave in this area. Using his Aura, he managed to withstand it. His Mana gauge depleted slightly as a result.

Aura, even though used in a different professional system, is the same as mana. In short, it's a variant of mana that is converted to become suitable for the body's absorption.

That's the reason why both mana and aura is calculated when it comes to their total WIS stat in the True Self Template.

Just before he could react, six lasers blasted the remaining skeletons, turning them into blue particles. The source of that is naturally Monst3r. Based on a dragon, not only it could confront its enemies melee using its sharp talons, it could also converge the originum present in the air to blast off a beam attack.

Though, Kal'tsit had to adjust it to instead usurp her Mana instead since it didn't exist in this virtual world. Thanks to it, Monst3r could now use both originum and mana when it comes to empowering its attacks.

However, some field bosses survived up until now even with such powerful attacks.

Pssssh-!

Before their A.I. could react, Kuroneko went ahead and finished them off with , , and , respectively. Since she got the last hit, she received some rare drops, but this is what they had agreed on earlier.

Since only Kal'tsit and Shiro has AoE attacks, Kuroneko kited these monsters with them first before the former two unleashed their attacks. Then, she would end up with the last hit on the field bosses to make things fair.

Sensing a faint presence, Shiro looked back at the starting point and greeted Shinji.

"Hey, you're already here!"

"Who's here?"

"I don't see anyone..."

Shinji felt somewhat painful when they couldn't see his presence and even forget about him, but it didn't affect him much since Shiro could still notice him. Going down this train of thought, he decided to think of it as a punishment for his future wrongdoings.

Even now, he swears to eliminate every single Shinji that he sees on another world line.

"I'm here."

As he spoke, his existence got 'cemented' into this world. He was finally seen by the others after this.

"So it was Shinji-kun. No wonder you evaded my gaze!"

"His stealth is... powerful."

Now that he's visible to others, Cardinal could only be shocked when it saw a new player entering the dungeon.

'Is this a bug?!', it thought so as it started sifting through SAO, not knowing that she would find nothing there. While it did so, the dungeon's entrance closed, prompting a white notification window to appear.

[Notice]

The dungeon is now inaccessible. Please clear the dungeon boss to open the exit.

"The admin closed it. What a pity."

"Admit? Is it the mission objective?"

"Nope..." Shiro continued his words in the chat group.

Shiro: It's an administrative system inside the game called Cardinal System. Don't speak this out loud, it can see us.

Kal'tsit: Can it do anything?

He began explaining Cardinal's capabilities. Due to him experiencing that suppression first-hand, he knew how it worked the most.

Shiro: As long as we normally clear this game, the quest will be taken care of. I think..?

"Is it another one of your intuition?" She asked him, but she already knew that something is bound to happen after he set up the flag. After all, going into a dungeon that is not in the anime is a huge red flag in and of itself!

"Let's hope that it wouldn't happen." Shiro skillfully changed the topic by asking Shinji if he wanted to try fighting against these mobs. "Wanna try fighting against a crowd?"

" A crowd far stronger than me... I want to try."

Unknowingly, Shinji began enjoying the process of fighting. Only time will tell if he turns out to be a training maniac, just like that certain spearman with his golden rule.

"Oh, right. I was about to ask you something."

"Yes, Shiro-aniki?"

"Just aniki is fine. Anyways..." He looked on top of Shinji's head. Precisely, on his hair. Unlike the usual seaweed-like hair, it's now akin to a normal hairstyle. "Where's the seawee-I mean, what happened to your hair?"

"Ah, this? This is all thanks to the consumable that I got from the spins."

Turns out, it's all thanks to the [Anti-Wakame Hair Solution (SSR)] that he finally got a straight, normal hair. To be honest, Shiro found it interesting (and ridiculous) because even his magic couldn't do anything to it. In his estimation, it's something close to True Magic.

It's as if the world didn't allow Shinji to have any other hair than his seaweed hair-do...

"Er... Did I hear that correctly? An SSR item to set your hair straight?" Shiro asked.

The three of them has a dumbfounded looks after hearing the rarity of that item. After all, an SSR item already involves concepts and the likes. God-level powers, even.

Embarrassingly, he replied, "I know... Even I couldn't believe it at first..."

He replied as he scratched the back of his head.

"His hair is blessed--no, equal to divinities..?"

"..."

Kuroneko could only mutter in disbelief while Kal'tsit decided to stay silent because she doesn't know what to comment.

"Your hair borders True Magic.", Shiro commented.

"I-is that so? I never tried fixing it in the first place..."

It can be seen that Shiro's estimations are close. It took a single SSR item just to make it normal! One has to know that True Magics are classified as UR, whereas some Divine Constructs are at SSR.

With this, the ridiculousness of his hair can be seen...

*****

A/N: I guess I'll have an easier time distinguishing between two Shinjis in the future. Chat Group Shinji would simply be called Shinji while the scumbag is called Wakame...

Here's the fact of the day!

Fact #13: Arts in Terra could be roughly divided into three types: Scientific Arts, Base Arts, and Witchcraft. Scientific Arts requires the caster to be more knowledgeable and familiar with science to become stronger. On the other hand, Base Arts is simply twisting the physics with their imagination; it's like thinking about water and water would form out of thin air. Lastly, Witchcraft is similar to Formal Magecraft that involves rituals to gods. Though, the Affinity stays the same, so you won't be able to manipulate water by imagination if your affinity is flame.
