When they returned to the inn, they bid Ameria goodnight as she retired to her room. Before Nirra could enter her quarters, however, Ellie tapped Nirra on the shoulder from behind, which was returned with a sigh from Nirra before she turned around.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Elli asked with a stern expression.

"About what?" Nirra replied in a low voice.

"About that night, you were attacked," she said with a mild irritation in the tone of her voice.

"There was no need to tell you since I already reported it to the guildmaster," Nirra answered, her eyes avoiding the sight of Ellie.

"Sis, I'm not angry you were attacked. I'm angry you kept it a secret from me," Ellie said with a sigh.

"What's done is done; we foiled their plans and rescued Ameria. I do plan on telling you after," Nirra said as she opened the door to her room using her hands that she held behind her.

"But why wait, sis? You promised me you'd never keep a secret from me when we were kids, and I'd do the same to you," Ellie said, her expression easing a bit, and she let go of her arms that were crossed moments before.

"I see, but there wasn't really a reason to tell you since I made it out alive and well," Nirra explained.

"Just next time, don't keep any secrets. We're twins; we shared almost everything together," Ellie said.

"Okay, I won't keep any secrets about my well-being from you next time," Nirra replied, which eased the tension for Ellie.

"Thanks, sis. I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight." Ellie flashed a smile before she turned her body and opened the door to her quarters.

"Goodnight, Ellie," Nirra said in return before she entered the room and closed the door.

"But some secrets are meant to never be revealed," Nirra said to herself, remembering all the knowledge she has on firearms.

Nirra sighed before remembering she had a sleeping fox on her shoulder. Mofu had his secondary colors changed to silver as he slept away. She gently placed him on his little bed that he loved so much and placed a slice of garlic bread with him in case he woke up hungry.

Nirra got startled as Mofu opened his mouth and ate the bread that she placed while his eyes were still closed.

Nirra giggled at Mofu's actions before she removed all her gear and hung it on the hooks that were mounted to the wall, which included her pistol holster, ammunition belt box, and bandolier, with the exception of her rifle and shotgun.

She grabbed a clean cloth and started disassembling both firearms. After that, she slowly cleaned the parts one by one and grimaced at the amount of residue from the gunpowder she used.

"I need to find a way to make smokeless powder, or else I'm going to be stuck cleaning these after every use," Nirra commented before she finished cleaning the individual parts.

As she started assembling the shotgun and rifle, she was deep in thought about how she could synthesize smokeless powder.

'The main ingredient is nitroglycerin; I need to find a cotton field once we leave Aeris, and from there I need two acids. I may need help with aging those two. Nitric acid can come from slime; I wish I had gotten a sample of their goo when we got the debris ooze last time. Sulfuric acid can be found near volcanoes, but I need further research on how it can be obtained more easily. Maybe the great library in the capital has the answers' Nirra thought as she finished assembling her firearms.

After hanging her weapons on the wall, she took the liberty to take a shower, after which she turned off the lights and retreated to the realm of dreams.

The next morning, Nirra woke up to excruciating pain in her lower abdomen. This meant one thing to her.

"Damn Periods…"

As she got out of bed, she held her lower abdomen and slowly walked towards the bathroom to rinse the blood that had accumulated on her crotch.

"How could women deal with this every month? It's been 4 years, and this is still very awkward for me," she said to herself before she wiped it clean.

She sighed as she exited the bathroom stall. She opened the windows to her room and found out that it was dark outside, with clouds casting a huge shadow. It also rained heavily, and the sound of raindrops falling on the roofs of the houses and on the ground was very relaxing.

"I guess I could take a rest for today," Nirra said as she dressed up in her casual attire, which consisted of a white tunic and brown pants.

"Mofu!" Mofu jumped on the table near the bed as Nirra finished dressing.

"Hey mofu, did you have a happy dream last night?" She turned her body towards the fox.

"Mofu~" His secondary colors just changed into blue.

"C'mon, let's go down and eat breakfast; Ameria and Ellie must be waiting for us," Nirra said before she picked up Mofu in her arms.

"You're getting heavy; maybe it's time to lay off on the garlic bread," Nirra commented before she placed the small fx on the floor.

"Nofu!!" Mofu said.

"Okay, maybe just a little mo-wait, did you just say no?" Nirra said in the end with surprise in her voice.

"Nofu?" Mofu said.

"You did; I guess you can answer yes or no questions now," Nirra said as she opened the door to her room.

"Mofu~" Mofu walked up to her and rubbed his head on her leg.

"Heh, c'mon, mofu, the others are probably waiting downstairs," Nirra said as they left her room with the door closed behind her.
