Yang Yi wasn’t sent to solitary confinement. Instead, he was released as if nothing had happened. Since it was still free activity period, the guard escorted him directly to the recreation field.

The Boxing King received a warm welcome from his men when he walked out onto the recreation field. Yang Yi, on the other hand, was all alone on the field.

The Boxing King started using psychological warfare on Yang Yi. He would intimidate or threaten Yang Yi whenever he found an opportunity.

“Little fella, have you thought about how you should die? You’re going to die! I guarantee you will be dead soon. You’re dead meat even if I have to be sent to the felony section.”

Yang Yi totally ignored the Boxing King. His chest and stomach were still hurting so he walked towards a corner without anyone. Yang Yi had to take a long, deep breath due to the pain in his chest.

“Everyone here is a bastard!” Yang Yi gritted his teeth and slowly rubbed his abdomen.

The cage fight was inevitable since Owen would make sure to enforce the challenge.

Owen was eagerly awaiting Yang Yi’s death. It would be easy for him to conceal his involvement in the substitution of an inmate if Yang Yi was dead. Yang Yi’s death would inconvenience the real Benjamin but the prison would have tied up all loose ends in the matter.

Yang Yi started to observe the Boxing King. He had a very robust and sturdy body. There wasn’t any trace of fat on him and his neck was almost as thick as his head.

One would be able to picture the Boxing King’s body if they imagined Tyson’s body. Aside from the face, it appeared as if their bodies were made from the same mold.

Yang Yi looked back at himself, he was rather tall but he was definitely very thin if a comparison had to be made between the two. To put it succinctly, it would be a fight between a heavyweight and a lightweight.

A heavyweight boxer weighed more than 201 pounds while a lightweight boxer weighed at a maximum 135 pounds, the difference was more than 61 pounds. Although it might not sound like a huge gap in terms of weight, it was, in fact, a gap of eight classes in the world of professional boxing. Heavyweight being class one while Lightweight was class nine.

If this was a true boxing match, it would be a pointless one given the huge disparity between the two fighters. Yang Yi was at an absolute disadvantage and he would definitely lose. Also, no one would be interested in watching the match.

Thankfully the fight wasn’t a boxing match and there were no rules. Whoever survived was the winner.

Once a cage fight commenced, it would only end when one survivor was left. So, it was impossible to have two winners. It could be possible for both parties to end up as losers.

Yang Yi’s lost was a foregone conclusion when evaluated from all the possible angles. Although Yang Yi could use weapons, since the Boxing King could use weapons as well, it wasn’t an advantage. There wasn’t any rule that said the Boxing King had to use his fists. Thus, anyone who was thinking straight would definitely bet that Yang Yi would lose the fight.

In fact, everyone had already started betting.

There wasn't a way to know for sure if Buddy was the bookie, but all the inmates were surrounding him and scrambling to place their bets, while Buddy was busy writing down the bets.

Yang Yi sat on the ground and watched the inmates. Chris who had always been deliberately keeping his distance approached Yang Yi and sat next to him.

Chris discreetly passed the triangular shiv back to Yang Yi. After Yang Yi had hidden the weapon, he said, “Thank you.”

Chris softly said, “You’re welcome. You owe me a favor.”

Yang Yi chuckled, “Yes, I owe you a favor. I will definitely repay you if I get the chance.”

Chris sighed, “I don’t think you have any chance of victory. You’re very capable but your biggest advantage is your brain while he’s a professional boxer. You might still be able to stand a chance if you ambush him but you’re definitely going to die in a cage fight. So, why did you challenge the Boxing King?”

Chris sighed again as he shook his head, “You’re about my son’s age. I really didn’t want to meddle but you remind me of my son. I really don’t want to see you die and all I can say is good luck since I can’t help you at all.”

Yang Yi smiled, “Doesn’t your son come to visit you? At the very least, you can see your son after you get released.

Chris took a deep breath before solemnly saying, “He won’t come. He died when he was twenty years old.”

Yang Yi immediately stopped smiling, “Sorry. My condolences.”

Chris shook his head, “There’s no need to apologize. I’m the one who brought it up in the first place.”

Yang Yi kept quiet since he didn’t know what he should say. After a moment of silence, Chris continued, “I had a good job and a happy family. Unfortunately, a drunk driver crashed into my backyard and killed my son. So, I shot the bastard driver with my gun and killed him. I have been regretting the action ever since. I should have killed all four people in the car. They destroyed everything I cared about.”

Yang Yi asked, “Are you saying you regret killing only the driver?”

Chris nodded, “Yes. I did what an angry person would do and killed the driver before the police arrived. At that time, I thought only the driver should be held accountable for what happened. I was wrong. My biggest mistake was not finishing the job. After I was sent to prison, the remaining three bastards broke into my house and shot my wife to death.”

Yang Yi clenched his hand into a fist and asked, “How could such a thing happen! In the end, what happened to the three of them?”

Chris gave a helpless smile as he said, “The police caught them but they were all underage. The longest sentence for them was ten years while the shortest was only two years. They’ve all been released now yet I’m still here.”

Yang Yi shook his head as he mumbled, “They deserve to die…”

Chris shrugged as he replied, “Of course they should die and they will once I get released from prison. So, I’m sorry. I won’t help you because I can’t risk extending my sentence and I can’t die yet. You’re a polite young man and you really do remind me of my son.”

Chris patted Yang Yi’s shoulder before he continued with a smile, “I will support you by betting two packs of cigarettes on your victory. That’s all I can do for you.”

Yang Yi laughed, “I don’t think that counts as support. I will view it as moral support anyway. So, can you tell me how I can place a bet and what are the odds?”

Chris snickered as he said, “Oh, will you be disappointed if I told you everyone bet that you will die? The lowest bet you can make is one pack of cigarettes. If you win, a single pack will yield a person twenty packs of cigarettes. If you lose, a person will only have to pay a single stick for each pack they bet. Since we’re betting using cigarettes, the odds can’t get any lower than that.”2
