“I can’t believe we actually made a freshman do an actual mission with us.”

“I can’t believe he actually survived,” Nakita rebutted.

“It's very rare for a first year student with no experience to survive a mission without a teacher.” Dante praised.

“What’s with the star, that’s what I’d like to know?”

Riku ignored their praises and asked his own question while he continued to eat his lunch.

“Oh these, well if you beat up a lot of students or do a certain mission you can get one of these, the school pretty much hands these out like candies.”

Nakita answered without delay.

“Not because you have two means you can just show off. they work absolutely nothing like that!”

José bantered quickly at Nakita, their friendly argument lightened the mood.

but Riku was still left a little curious as to what the stars really meant. Shortly after a pointless squabble and Riku closer to finishing his meal Dante intervened

“They are awards that are only obtained by-” BRING!

The bell rang interrupting his explanation.

-

The Riku’s classmates after lunch had all changed from the standard uniform with its long pants, short skirts and short long sleeve jackets to blue shorts dangling comfortable for men and women alike, and both sets were now wearing T-shirts with blue lines around the short sleeves.

Standing before the class was an oversized man with short stubby gray facial hair with oversized muscles he filled out his tracksuit.

“Nice to have a new student with us Mr. Riku.

I am professor Michael Victor but in order to prevent confusions with me and my brother you may call me professor Michael. I will be your physical training instructor..”

Professor Michael parted the class as he went to shake Riku’s hand to welcome him.

Riku was slightly shocked at his demeanor which was a complete paradigm shift from his brother, principal Gabriel Victor. Gabriel always gave off a detached personality while Michael here was very emotive and likable. The only common denominator between them were the bulging muscles.

Well that was Riku’s first impression and everything changed the moment Prof Michael blew his whistle.

His persona transformed into a fiend. This class became Riku’s worst nightmare and his physical limitations had been made public.

While the class all made a three mile run in fifteen minutes hardly breaking a sweat Riku passed the finish line after an hour literally crawling.

Riku with his tongue hanging as he crossed the line laid flat on the ground. When his classmates looked at his pitiful state they saw a paper in Riku’s hand…

titled “last will and testament of..”

Before his exhausted breath or jelly like feeling feet could recover the class had started its hurdle climbing phase.

They were taking turns climbing over vertical barriers in quick succession. Riku's eyes rolled over as he looked at the hell pit he would have to climb over and his vision became dark as he fainted.. ‘Smack!’ Riku was revived with a slap “God is that you?” said Riku as he faded back into consciousness only to find himself hanging from a metal bar with smoke coming from below.

“When I blow you pump!” Michael fanned a flame below Riku.  As the flame danced he was forced to do pull ups to avoid the rising flames. It was a living hell for him.

“It’s students like you that give me the most joy.” Prof Michael smiled as he continued to fan the flames.

“So dependent on your weapons you think you never need to move.

But that's okay. I.. can fix.. You”

Prof Michael grinned with a maniacal smile as he continued to fan the flames.

Apart from the odd classes, Assassin Academy had normal classes such as math and foreign languages in which each student had to pick at least two languages.

Although the school was called an “Academy” to the outside public it was more of a community college with the added uniforms.

The public recognized it as one of the largest colleges in the country. The public knew the school had an air of mystery but with its strict security entrance not much bad could be said about the school.

Although the school provided basic high school classes and their off the books assassination lessons, they also provided doctorate programs where one could leave the school highly qualified to live a normal life... if they survived.

Of Course none of this was free, students had to pay an exorbitant amount of money for each subject and program.

Theoretically a student could leave Assassin Academy with a Doctoral degree in any field they so choose, it's just that the debt that would accumulate would be astronomical.

Most students would only complete the three years and do enough missions to wipe themselves from the system and pay off their debts, then another set of missions to gain a new identity to start a normal life.

Majority of Assassin Academies' graduates chose this path in fact, and left qualified enough to lead normal lives.

There were some who instead of focusing on studies chose to simply do a copious amount of missions to accumulate enough monetary gains to leave the school as quickly as possible, so as to retire straight out of Assassin Academy.

Then there was the unique few, the ones who fall in love with the assassin’s life, they complete their three years and leave the school to become professional assassins of other countries.

Due to this there was a rise in other occupations, such as anti-assassination specialist, and even assassins black marketers.

Finally there were those who only partially committed to the assassin life and after completing the school, would spend a few more years as assassins then return to the school as teachers and professors.
