The lunch room was busy, each group of students chatted casually and laughed.

Unlike the previous days when Riku came to lunch his friends were missing.

He took his tray and walked around looking where to sit.

As he walked he felt a foot obstructing his step as he stumbled and fell.

His lunch lay scattered on the floor as he turned around pitifully he saw Laath and his cronies standing tall over him.

“See guys, just where freshmen belong, groveling at our feet.”

They laughed and the rest of the lunch room turned around to see Riku’s deposition.

Riku jumped up grabbing Laath by the collar, tightening his fist. The rest of Laaths cronies closed in to encircle Riku immediately and the cafeteria erupted

“Fight!

Fight!

Fight!”

however as quickly as it started the shouting died down with the sound of an echoing voice,

“And what is happening here?”

The voice shaked the cafeteria as it traveled across. The crowd was parted by an overly muscular man in a deep black suit.

Riku released Laath from his grip as soon as he saw Mr. Victor,

“Nothing Sir.

I was just requesting an official Ranked match against my senior, Sir.”

Victor’s eyes widened in surprise

“Oh, presumptuous aren’t we?

To think you have a chance against a third year.”

The principal rubbed his chin and contemplated. It had to be noted that a first year challenging a third year was unheard of.

This wasn’t due only to the large gap in skills but the large gap in ranking. The rules stated that the challenger had to be within the twentieth ranking of the other for it to be forcefully accepted. But normally the rank between first and third years were simply too vast.

But Gabriel was very interested to see what the new student could do and this could be a great teaching aid. Afterall first year students really did need to learn to understand the immensity of heaven and earth.

But fighting a third year was a little too excessive.

“hmmm…how about this instead.

He has his three friends here with him.

If you can defeat each of them then regardless of your rank I will let you challenge the third year.

Matter of fact, if you manage to beat him I will personally give you four million dollars.”

The cafeteria started to murmur as they looked at each other awkwardly

“but first years never take part in ranked matches... they never win, he doesn't stand a chance.”

“I accept!” Riku shouted. Riku turned around and a sly grin covered his face as he left.

“It all went exactly as I planned. coming here without Dante and the crew Laath couldn't help himself, and the principal was right on time as he always is. He comes here on the last Wednesday of every month at twelve sharp to check on the students.”

News of a first year challenging second and third year students quickly spread through the school like wildfire. several bets were made,

“Ten seconds!, no five seconds! no three seconds!”

the school was on one consensus, Riku would definitely lose.

Riku arrived at the arena about fifteen minutes later, he was about to take his seat when his phone lit up.

-Two Million dollars has been transferred to your account.-

It took a few days but Riku had received the reward for his mission with Dante and the crew.

But then the notifications continued.

- Two Million dollars has been deducted from your account, thanks for using our medical facilities, please do come again!

Dammit like a prostitute with her time. As soon as I get it, it's sold.”

Riku felt the bitter taste of the after charge system the school had. I had almost completely forgotten about the medical bill he had outstanding.

He gritted his teeth at the usury, sure this was England but this school’s medical bill was charged like it was in the middle of the United States.

Riku arrived at the stadium and saw Dante and Nakita sitting, both focused on the two persons standing in the arena.

“So why did you ask us not to come with you for lunch?”

Dante asked.

“Maybe he is embarrassed of us”

Nakita replied in her bubbly voice

“Naah, I just had some business to take care of.”

Riku, trying to brush off the topic, answered as he took the seat to the left of Nakita.

When Riku was about to sit in the stadium he was surprised as he saw the name of the next two persons to fight.

“Jose Mendoza Vs Vlad Meir.

Begin!”

Jose was a part of his mission with Dante and Nakita, but Riku had never seen Jose fight. He originally thought Jose was more of a computer technician rather than an assassin.

Jose stood at the center of the ring, he stood about 170 centimeters, a pretty tall fellow when you really look at him.

He was dressed in his uniform, however on his waist were small pouches that wrapped around him and on his back was a small knapsack.

He stood proudly as the nanomites slowly built the background behind him.

Jose’s opponent was an extremely pale looking fellow, his hair the deepest black one could imagine, on his back formed a weapon.

The nanomites took some time to fully form Vlad’s weapon. Strapped across his back was a silver … bazooka!?

Its silver outline was a little thicker than the average and its length almost as tall as Vlad himself, and hanging behind Vlad’s waist was its ammunition.

The landscape became that of a cemetery.

Tombstones, concrete tombs and even statues of weeping angels could be seen, the contrast to this was the still shining evening sun.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the fight.

Jose jumped back while throwing three small red pills.

Vlad instead of dodging drew his bazooka and held it in front of his body, its flap instantly opened and turned it into a shield.

When the pills made contact with the shield an intense explosion erupted,

The explosion sent Vlad flying back several meters leaving a cloud of red smoke and a few dents in his shield.

Before the smoke could subside Vladd dashed to the right and fired his bazooka into the fog of smoke that he had escaped from. The small red fog expanded, the loud explosion shaked the cemetery and some tombstones cracked as tremors ran amok.

Vlad smirked as he reloaded his bazooka. When the smoke subsided only a large charred brick of ice stood in the center of the cemetery.

Vlad looked around only to see three more pills hurling his way. He raised his bazooka which instantly turned into a shield once more.

But this time when the pills made contact, contrary to what he expected, a sizzle was heard.

His bazooka began to melt as the acid from the pills seeped deeper into its built. Vlad quickly loaded his bazooka and fired in the same direction the pills came hurling from.

The smoke and smog from the pills impaired his vision but he fired nonetheless. Jose dashing to the side tried to get behind Vlad.

Jose saw only the streak as the missile flew past his body. The shot connected with the tombstone behind him.

The blast was strong enough to throw him forward while simultaneously blowing away all the smoke and smog that surrounded Vladd.

Jose rolled forward trying to dissipate the force that blew him forward. Vlad finally having a clear view of Jose took aim once more.

But his bazooka had already been eaten through by the acid and failed to fire. He threw his bazooka at Jose, seemingly annoyed at its dysfunction.

Jose jumped to dodge, but when he reached mid air a fist with great force sent him flying to the ground.

Jose’s body hit the floor so vigorously that it bounced slightly before hitting the floor again.

Jose’s vision blurred momentarily as he lost consciousness, the world went dark.

But like a light flickering he regained consciousness and rolled back to doge the follow up stomp.

A white foam swallowed Vlad’s feet.

The foam continued to swallow half of his body, until it hardened and stopped him completely.

Jose, with his nose purple and bent at an awkward angle, got up dusting off his shoulder and smirked,

“That’s a pretty hard to handle weapon you have there, I'll give you that much.”

Vlad was trapped in a column of foam that had hardened so he couldn't move.

“-Match over! The winner is… Jose Mendoza! Jose has been promoted to number forty eight!”

Dante and Nakita clapped at the announcement,

“Took him long enough, finally the top fifty rankings.”
