“It is always a sad day when children are caught in a war they know nothing about.”

The Wolf man's voice was filled with sorrow as he regarded the students with pity.

[Bam!]

Chains erupted from the masked man's hands, a multitude of them aimed squarely at Lana, who was already wounded and bewildered. Nathan, however, was the first to snap out of his stupor. With a surge of adrenaline, he rushed forward, using his shield to block the incoming onslaught.

Yet, Nathan vastly underestimated the force behind the chains. The impact was overwhelming, and he was hurled back a meter, colliding with Lana behind him. The car they crashed into bore the brunt of their collision, its exterior marred by a substantial dent.

‘Argh!’

Nathan coughed up a mouthful of blood, the sheer force of the attack taking a toll on him.

In the midst of this chaos, Riku's instincts kicked in. He fired his pistols at the masked man with rapid precision. However, the masked man possessed inhuman reflexes, effortlessly flashing his chains to deflect the bullets.

In a reversal the chains were now rushing at Riku. Riku fired a few rounds trying to deflect the chains but was forced to roll to the side and dodge due to their unstoppable nature.

The chains collided with the concrete column that was behind him instantly eating a large chunk of it away.

Riku saw how the chains left a large hole in the concrete column and gulped in fear imagining what that attack would have done to his much softer head.

Riku fired another round but it felt like the chains had a mind of their own as they flashed about deflecting his shots with master-like precision.

Desperation welled up inside Riku as he continued to dodge and evade. His bullets, no matter how many he fired, felt like a feeble attempt to quell an insurmountable storm.

“No matter how the prey struggles, the predator know’s death comes all the quicker.”

The masked man taunted Riku, his condescending tone stoking the flames of frustration in Riku's heart.

Riku was breathing heavily trying to find reprieve but the chains kept coming. No matter how many shots he fired it felt like adding water to a bottomless well.

Gasping for breath, Riku felt his strength wane. His chest tightened, and the fatigue weighed him down. His vision blurred, and he knew he was reaching his limit.

“Is this all I have left?”

Riku questioned himself, his body collapsing as the chains once again bore down on him.

[Bam!]

A battered shield with a deep dent in it intercepted the chains, deflecting the deadly attack. The masked man was taken aback as the shield sailed past him, and he shifted his gaze to identify its source.

“I guess even the worms struggle when grabbed by an eagle.”

He shifted his gaze and sent another set of chains back at Nathan. Luckily Nathan was already at his limit and immediately fainted after throwing his shield with all of his strength.

The chains ended up only hitting the car that was behind him.

“Let’s see how you like this!”

From the side of the car Lana fired an arrow directly at the masked man. With all of his chains from both hands deployed she thought she had the upper hand.

Unfortunately he only took a side step and dodged the arrow.

Yet, in a display of agility, the masked man sidestepped the arrow with ease. Lana's shock was palpable, as she never expected him to be so capable.

“Well, I guess even prey can bite.”

The mask man chuckled looking at the arrow that was twelve inches deep into the wall.

“I guess I should take care of you first.”

The masked man retracted his chains and aimed at Lana this time.

Lana was already injured from the firefight between the guards and again suffered a few broken ribs from the impact into the car. Therefore it was safe to assume she was already incapable of dodging.

Seeing the chains rushing at her she gritted her teeth accepting of her faith.

‘I always knew this stupid school was going to be the death of me’

She admitted inwardly, awaiting the reaper's embrace.

[BAM!BAM!BAM!]

A loud series of shots went off and deflected the chains aimed at Lana.

A volley of shots rang out, intercepting the chains and defusing the imminent threat. Stepping into the fray was none other than Miss Debeers.

Unlike her normal class room look she looked slightly different. She wore black elbow and knee pads along with black combat gloves and had a dagger at her side.

Her weapon that normally was the classic semi-wooden AK47 in class had now been upgraded to the full black AK 107 with a drum barrel of 95 rounds.  It seems she had a crush on the old General Kalashnikov, since those were the only rifles she used.

Miss Debeers, unlike her usual classroom persona, was now a force to be reckoned with. She bombarded the masked man with a relentless barrage of bullets from her extended drum barrel, forcing him to dodge and seek cover behind a pillar.

“Since you like kids so much, allow me to fill you up with mine!”

As she spoke she lit up the masked man with a rapid fire of shots.

Realizing the sheer power behind the larger rounds he was forced to dodge and run to the side and take cover behind a pillar.

The masked man had no choice but to retreat as bullet holes riddled the space behind him like a game of deadly tag. His evasion was eerily graceful, a testament to his agility.

The mask man clicked his tongue before firing the chains from both of his arms at once at Miss Debeers.

Miss Debeers stood still as the chains approached.

[Shing!]

A sharp sword slashed the chains.

“You put a lot of faith in this old man, you know.”

Grand Master Sherr appeared from the shadows and sheathed back his sword.

“Now, Now you two, I told you we shouldn’t play around.”

From another  end of the shadow’s came two big burly men, one dressed in a neat black suit while the other only wore a tank top and sports shorts. Their silver hair and gray eyes both complemented each other.

The masked man seeing all of the teachers gather felt an air of death more suffocating than he had ever imagined.

He had already been given strict orders to avoid any one of these individuals but now to be faced with four of them at once he felt that not even God himself could save him from these monsters.

The masked man let out a loud devilish laugh.

“You think an apex predator attacks alone!?”

He regained his composure before continuing.

“Make no mistake. You are all still the prey!”

When he spoke coming rushing down from the upper floor was over forty masked men. From the window wells came four more menacing masked men.

One wearing the mask of a spider, skeleton, tiger and bear.
