Clarisse realized one thing while cleaning the chapel every morning.

No matter how early in the morning, there is always someone active.

While she was on her way to clean, she ran into a test taker who woke up early to study.

The sight of students pouring themselves into their studies while receiving hot black tea in a huge bowl looked truly great.

Besides the test takers, most of the priests seemed to wake up early in the morning.

Sometimes, Clarisse saw all the candlesticks wiped before she even arrived at the chapel.

Additionally, there were people who came every morning to pray.

Considering that this monastery is located on the outskirts of the capital, about 30 minutes away, it was truly surprising.

In particular, one old woman was praying at the same spot every day of the week while Clarisse was cleaning.

What kind of wish is there to be able to pray so desperately?

As her curiosity arose, one day, while she was cleaning the decorations on the wall, she stopped to look at the woman praying.

In fact, when reciting a set prayer in a chapel, there were times when she ended up saying what came out of her lips without realizing it.

But it never seemed like that happened to the lady.

She always put deep sincerity into every word and every little syllable in her prayers.

Truly earnestly.

Before she knew it, Clarisse followed her and held her hands together.

And she prayed with more respect than ever

“I hope… it will come true.”

When she muttered softly and raised her head again.

She happened to make eye contact with the ladies who got up from her seat.

If she had just nodded and said hello, she could have pretended nothing happened.

“I, I’m sorry!”

Perhaps due to the fact that he had been watching her the whole time, Clarisse ended up apologizing without even realizing it.

“…Yes?”

It was natural for the old lady to question the absurd answer.

“No, that’s.”

Clarisse fiddled with the duster with a red face and barely answered it with a whisper.

“I’ve been looking at you… all the time, lady.”

Clarisse was embarrassed.

It was all the more so in that the words he uttered were quite similar to those in a a romance novel she had recently read.

From afar, Valentine could be heard whimpering and suppressing laughter upon hearing her line.

Noah touch the back of his head, but he stopped quickly.

As Clarisse continued to fumble, the woman smiled softly and walked forward.

Looking closer, she seemed to be not as old as Clarisse had thought.

That beautiful hair wasn’t white, it was the silver hair she was born with.

However, the deeply worried face had deep wrinkles that resembled an expression that somehow expressed sad emotions.

Clarisse thought that her prayer might be quite old.

“I’m sorry.”

The lady who approached offered an apology.

“Y, yes…?”

“I would have been in the way of cleaning. Right?”

Clarisse quickly shook her head. Absolutely not.

It would have to be said that she received some help, as she woke up without difficulty wondering if the lady would come again today.

“I, I just…”

After struggling to calm down, Clarisse finally answered her. When she’s embarrassed, it’s best to just answer honestly.

“I was praying for your wish to come true. I don’t even know what it is, but… I felt that you were praying with all your heart.”

Clarisse’s answer must have surprised her as she opened her lips.

“I’m sorry. I overlooked things too freely…”

It could just be that she is a deeply religious woman, but she imagines and even prays as she pleases that she has a story… Maybe it was unpleasant for the lady.

“No.”

The woman shook her head slowly, and then a soft smile appeared on her lips.

Clarisse felt that that smile was somehow familiar, but she didn’t know why.

She just naturally felt comfortable.

“I was praying very desperately. Very… with all my heart.”

And to her tearful eyes, Clarisse quickly gave her a handkerchief.

“I can’t believe we prayed together…Thank you.”

Even as she shed her tears, the smile on her face didn’t disappear.

“It’s been so long since someone prayed with me. Ever since my husband left…”

“Did you… pray for your husband’s soul?”

She shook her head slowly.

“My daughter…”

Up until that point, she spoke in a low voice, but she didn’t say anything else because she seemed to be in a lot of pain.

“It’s okay if you’re having a hard time.”

“No, somehow…I want to talk.”

Clarisse waited a little longer, and the woman pressed her handkerchief to her eyes for a moment before finally answering.

“I prayed for her good health.”

“You have a daughter.”

“Yes, she is a very pretty child. Maybe now… she must be much older than you are. Maybe even married?”

Although she spoke of her own daughter, all she talked about were her guesses.

Clarisse carefully guessed the situation.

‘I guess she lost her daughter.’

Clarisse now knew why she had been so moved when she first met the lady.

Coincidentally, Clarisse’s beloved Duchess of Sheridan was also looking for her lost family.

Couldn’t it have been fate that caught her attention because it was someone with a similar story?

“I’m sorry. I guess I wanted to talk to someone. What should I do? Is this too pretentious?”

“No, not at all! I was happy! No, that doesn’t mean I’m happy about the lady’s situation…”

Clarisse was startled by an unintentional mistake in her words and waved her hands wildly.

“That’s because there are people around me looking for her family. Because she’s truly precious to me.”

“I see.”

“She doesn’t think her mother could be looking for her. Maybe it’s because she’s afraid of being hurt…”

“I… suppose so.”

“She left blood in the wizard’s castle, but she’s very anxious about the results.”

“That requires patience. I have been waiting for a letter from the castle of the wizard for quite some time.”

“But for some reason, I think I understand when I see the lady. I’m sure her mother is desperately looking for her too.”

“Of course, it’s natural.”

The woman readily closed the distance between her and walked over to hold Clarisse’s hand.

“She must be looking very desperately. I can guarantee that. I’m sure she’s always praying for her health. Even if…”

The lady bit her lip and shook her head as she was about to say something.

“…it’s nothing.”

Clarisse answered those heavy words in a bright voice.

“My name is Clarisse, Mrs.”

“It’s a pretty name. I’m Gianna Curno.”

“May I call you Mrs. Curno?”

She seemed a little surprised by Clarisse’s question, but she soon smiled and nodded.

“I would be happy if you could do that. I’ve been interrupting you for too long, haven’t I?”

“No, it was nice to talk to you.”

“That’s what I say. It’s really rare for someone to listen to such a depressing story…”

The person who was talking looked very lonely, so Clarisse moved quickly toward her.

“If you don’t mind me, anytime! Oh, uhm… Of course, unless you don’t like it.”

“Thank you, Clarisse. I’m really happy.”

She nodded her head slowly and then, as if something had occurred to her, she made a suggestion.

“I have a house in the royal capital. Please stop by whenever you get the chance. I’ll be staying there for a while, so it’s okay if you don’t leave a message in advance.”

Saying so, she took an old business card from her arms and put it in Clarisse’s hand.

“I’ll be there for sure! Definitely.”

“I’ll be waiting.”

The lady greeted me lightly and immediately left the temple.

Clarisse looked at the back with some pride. She felt like she made a new friend for some reason.

That’s also the same-sex friend that Clarisse longed for.

Although there is a big age gap… Age is just a number, according to her latest romance novel.

“Girl.”

She soon turned around in surprise when Noah came up behind her and called her softly.

“You surprised me.”

“It’s dangerous to promise to go to a stranger’s house.”

“What do you mean stranger? She’s my new friend.”

“You sound like a friend.”

Soon Valentine, standing next to Noah, added his words. Somehow, it seems like the two have teamed up again this time.

“It’s stupid to follow someone you’ve never met to their house. You have to meet her outside at least five times.”

“Even when you meet outside, you must be accompanied by someone you can trust. For example…”

“An excellent friend like me.”

Valentine suddenly interrupted Noah. Noah glared at him with gloomy eyes.

“…It would be better to have a friend like me who knows everything about you inside out.”

“You know Clarisse inside out?”

“At least better than you.”

“Ha, then you know she has a strange habit, right? What is it?”

Clarisse quickly shouted, ‘I don’t have that!’

But Noah replied with a nod as if it were natural.

“I know, the girl licks her tongue once she finds a stone she likes.”

“That!”

Instead of licking it with her tongue, she just kissed it and shared some of her magic power. There was nothing she could do because she had something to ask.

Above all, it wasn’t strange behavior at all.

Clarisse had witnessed several times people stroking and kissing the feet of great statues.

So, it meant that Clarisse wouldn’t call it ‘strange’ just because she touched it with her tongue and lips to a beautiful stone created by nature.

But…

Before she could say this long excuse, Valentine started clapping his hands.

“Oh, you know that.”

“Isn’t that natural?”

Moreover, Noah raised his head high as if showing off.

She doesn’t understand how he can say that and act so condescending when he knows Clarisse’s abilities and circumstances.

“You’re really old now, so don’t go around licking anything. Because it’s dirty.”

“What is not… huh?”

Valentine, who was criticizing Clarisse, paused when he saw the business card in her hand.

“Did you say it’s Curno?”
