Chapter 2: Horror Livestream Room (2)

May 24, 2023 by Wyrd

The young man on the screen reacted slowly, appearing somewhat vacant.

After the sound of knocking on the door rang out twice, he hesitated before slowly getting up from his chair, his movements seeming weak.

The young man appeared to be around sixteen or seventeen years old. He wore a wrinkled yellow T-shirt, which appeared a bit loose on him due to his slender figure. He had on loose grey pajama pants, further accentuating his slender and small frame.

It was as if just one hand could easily lift him.

At this moment, as the young man turned his head to look behind him, his slightly long forehead hair scattered slightly, allowing the viewers to clearly see his overall appearance.

The young man had exquisite and beautiful features. His phoenix-like eyes slightly curved upwards, and his brows and facial features seemed carefully crafted, as if by the heavens. His originally cold and ethereal appearance gained a touch of beauty and charm from the teardrop mole at the corner of his left eye, making him exceptionally pretty.

He was like a Mandrake flower blooming on the road to death, irresistibly tempting people to plunge into the abyss.

After standing up, the young man eagerly tried to walk towards the door, seemingly intending to open it.

However, as he lifted his foot, he didn’t pay attention to what was in front of him and ended up bumping into the edge of the chair.

The chair was not a soft sofa but rather a wooden one, with sharp edges.

Upon the impact, the young man let out a muffled groan. Misty tears immediately welled up in his beautiful eyes, a hint of redness appearing at the corners. He slowly crouched down, clutching his knee.

He looked pitiful.

Despite the pain, the young man stubbornly held back his tears, refusing to let them fall, making people feel even more sympathetic towards him.

...This also ignited some unspeakable thoughts on certain entities, wanting to make the young man cry even more miserably.

Ruan Qing suppressed some inexplicable physiological reactions in his body and coldly spoke in his mind, ‘What’s going on?’

Indeed, his body was weak, but he didn’t remember being so delicate, shedding tears at the slightest bump.

The system’s response was concise: ‘Character setting.’

Ruan Qing suddenly remembered that he still needed to play the role of an NPC, and this particular NPC in the instance, was a gloomy and delicate person.

Delicate to the point where he couldn’t bear the slightest grievance, let alone something as minor as bumping his knee.

Ruan Qing pursed his pale pink lips and slowly rolled up his wide pants legs.

His fair and slender calves looked delicate under the light, and a faint redness appeared on his rounded knee. The impact wasn’t severe; it didn’t even break the skin.

But that redness looked terrifying against his fair, almost translucent skin. It would probably turn into a purplish color in a while.

Ruan Qing’s long eyelashes trembled slightly, and his reddened eyes welled up with tears once again.

Damn it, the pain and stimulation made his tears even more uncontrollable.

Ruan Qing bit his lower lip and tremblingly blew on his knee for a while. He softly spoke with a hint of a crying tone and grievance.

“It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt.”

It was as if no one cared about him, and when he got hurt, he had to console himself.

In fact, Ruan Qing wasn’t consoling himself; he was consoling his own broken body.

This NPC character was designed to console himself when feeling wronged. Otherwise, his tears would flow incessantly. With Ruan Qing’s consolation, he indeed felt much better.

At least his tears didn’t want to flow as much.

A real man should bleed, not cry.

If his strength were sufficient to bring down this inexplicable game, Ruan Qing would truly want to sacrifice everything.

And the viewers in the livestream room, witnessing this scene, once again paused in their barrage.

[What should I do? I feel like I can’t resist anymore. He’s really cute. How can someone be so adorable?]

[Me too... I even think it’s justified for him to insult others for being ugly because compared to him, aren’t they indeed ugly?]

[Even if someone is adorable, they shouldn’t casually insult others! The people he insults must be so miserable. That’s why he should apologize before I can forgive him!]

[You all need to calm down! What right do you have to forgive on behalf of the victim? Think carefully, if he had insulted you, would you still find him cute?]

[Exactly, imagine if he stepped on my chest and insulted my appearance, huh? Huh huh? Huh huh huh??? With that oversized T-shirt of his, would I be able to see anything if he stepped on me?]

[??!! If you say that, I’m sorry, but I’ll have to disagree.]

[...Stop fantasizing about weird things. Even if he’s cute, it won’t matter. He’ll be gone soon.]

[Sob, no, don’t go!]

As if not receiving a response, the pounding on the door grew louder, accompanied by the sound of someone kicking it.

Fortunately, although the interior of the room was run down, the door was a sturdy, burglar-proof iron door that wouldn’t be easily kicked open.

The person outside couldn’t enter for now.

But it was only temporary.

If a mere iron door could stop the killer, this dungeon instance would be too simple.

This NPC in this game was set to have social anxiety and rarely left the house, with the door usually locked from the inside.

However, today was the day the downstairs auntie delivered steamed buns, so the door wasn’t locked as usual.

It was definitely not a wise choice to be selected by the horror livestream and not lock the door.

Ruan Qing stood up and slowly approached the door, not because he didn’t want to move quickly, but because he had no strength left in his body.

Just as he was about to lock the door, the lock clicked, and the door handle suddenly turned.

This unexpected turn of events made Ruan Qing widen his eyes slightly.

The person outside had the key to his room!

There was no time to lock it now!

After realizing this, Ruan Qing immediately tried to step back and move away.

However, the person outside the door was quicker. After turning the doorknob, they kicked the door with full force.

This time, the door was kicked open, and Ruan Qing, who was standing behind it, was forcefully pushed back by the impact of the door, causing him to fall to the ground.

“Ugh...” The pain that was several times stronger than hitting the chair earlier surged into Ruan Qing’s brain, and tears uncontrollably streamed down his face.

This body was indeed a hindrance.

It wasn’t that Ruan Qing didn’t react fast enough, but this delicate body seemed to have not been used to movement for a long time, and it was also in a state of prolonged hunger. It was impossible to instantly dodge.

After the door was kicked open, the person who was knocking on the door finally revealed themselves.

It was a handsome man dressed in black casual attire.

The man rudely threw the object he was holding next to the person lying on the ground. He looked down at the person on the ground with a superior attitude. “Are you dead? Not dead yet? It’s disgusting. I shouldn’t have rented this house to you in the first place, always like a stinking sewer...”

The man’s mocking words were interrupted halfway, and his voice abruptly stopped.

The body of the young man on the ground trembled slightly. His oversized T-shirt had flipped up a bit due to the fall, revealing a large expanse of fair skin and a slender waist that could be held with one hand.

The man’s gaze froze as he looked at this scene. The mocking words got stuck in his throat, and he stood dumbfounded in place.

The man’s vision was as sharp as ever. Although the distance between them couldn’t be considered close, he could even clearly see the redness in the corner of the young man’s eyes due to intense pain. The young man’s eyes were moistened with tears, and his long eyelashes trembled like wings.

When the misty gaze of the young man swept over, it was as if it could captivate anyone.

The man’s gaze involuntarily fell on the reddened corner of the young man’s eyes, and at that moment, only one thought filled his mind.

So beautiful...

Ruan Qing couldn’t care about anything else. After falling to the ground, his eyes were filled with tears from the intense pain, and his brain almost stopped thinking.

He curled up on the ground, unconsciously whimpering a few times before gradually recovering from the pain. Only then did he remember his current situation.

He quickly lifted his head to look towards the door, and as a result, he met the somewhat obscure and ambiguous gaze of the man at the door.
