Chapter 4: Horror Livestream Room (4)

May 25, 2023 by Wyrd

In this quiet time of the night, even the slightest sound would appear disproportionately loud.

The man’s voice came abruptly, without any footsteps or door closing sounds, as if it appeared out of thin air.

Although the man’s tone sounded like a joke, Ruan Qing’s body involuntarily tensed up, his hairs standing on end, and every cell in his body screaming at him to run.

Without thinking, Ruan Qing followed his instincts. He tightly gripped the strap of his bag and immediately accelerated his steps without pausing.

The elevator was just a stone’s throw away, but the sound seemed to be at least ten meters away from him.

There weren’t many people using the elevator at midnight, and Ruan Qing clearly saw that the elevator was already on this floor.

There was still time.

Ruan Qing exerted all his strength and rushed to the side of the elevator, pressing the elevator button without hesitation.

Indeed, the elevator doors quickly opened.

Ruan Qing entered the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor. With one hand tightly gripping the strap of his bag and the other frantically pressing the close button of the elevator, he anxiously looked at the man, who seemed to have not reacted yet, not far away.

The elevator doors slowly closed, gradually blocking the view outside.

However, Ruan Qing underestimated the man.

Through the gradually closing gap of the elevator doors, Ruan Qing widened his eyes.

The man in the corridor was exactly the landlord he had seen during the day. After realizing the situation, he quickly walked towards the elevator with a composed and elegant demeanor. Despite the apparent distance of more than ten meters, in the blink of an eye, it seemed like he had come much closer.

So fast.

Ruan Qing desperately continued pressing the elevator’s close button.

Faster!

A bit faster!

The elevator doors gradually narrowed down to a narrow gap.

The man, although faster than an ordinary person, was still at least two meters away from the door.

Ruan Qing breathed a sigh of relief that couldn’t be detected.

However, in the last moment before the elevator doors closed, a strong hand forcefully wedged itself in the middle of the doors.

The elevator was equipped with automatic sensors that would open when something was detected between the doors.

A tall figure instantly appeared inside the elevator, casting a shadow that enveloped Ruan Qing, accompanied by an undeniable sense of oppression.

Ruan Qing looked up at the person in front of him, his clear and lively eyes filled with shock and disbelief, his face devoid of color.

The man was quite tall, around 1.87 meters, and he looked down at the young boy with slightly narrowed eyes, emanating a hint of danger. “You... don’t really intend to run away, do you?”

The man’s tone made Ruan Qing’s scalp tingle, causing him to shrink back instinctively. He took a few steps backward until his back was against the elevator corner, with no more room to retreat.

While Ruan Qing moved back, the man took a few steps forward, trapping Ruan Qing in the corner of the elevator. The oppressive aura emanating from him showed no signs of subsiding. In this narrow space, Ruan Qing had no way to escape.

Ruan Qing lowered his head, avoiding the aggressively probing gaze of the man. His body trembled slightly as he spoke softly, “N-No, I don’t.”

The man raised an eyebrow, his expression somewhat wicked. “Then why were you running?”

Ruan Qing anxiously tugged at the strap of his shoulder bag, looking pitiful as if about to burst into tears. “At night... I’m... scared.”

The man reluctantly accepted this reason. After all, the young boy didn’t have many things with him, only one bag slung over his shoulder. It indeed didn’t seem like he was planning to run away.

Moreover, he had just thoroughly examined the information about the boy in front of him.

He was described as a creepy man with profound social anxiety, hardly able to communicate normally with others, only hiding in dark and narrow rooms, willfully hurting others on the internet.

Like a rat living in a stinky drain.

This was how the information revealed online described him.

Only...

A hint of a flicker flashed in the man’s eyes as he lowered his head to look at the delicate and beautiful young boy in front of him. He felt that the rumors were indeed untrustworthy.

After clearing up the misunderstanding, the man suppressed his imposing demeanor and revealed a friendly smile, trying his best to appear more gentle and gentlemanly.

“Where are you going so late? Let me accompany you. After all, it’s not safe for someone to go out alone at night.”

The man’s gaze swept over Ruan Qing. “Especially a pretty little boy like you.”

Ruan Qing shook his head slightly to refuse, and even fearing that the man didn’t see, he softly spoke, “No, it’s alright.”

Ding!

The elevator arrived on the first floor.

Seeing this, Ruan Qing bit his lower lip, summoned his courage, and tried to walk past the man to leave. However, he was pulled back by the man.

The man then pressed the elevator’s close door button and the button for the basement floor, adopting a posture that couldn’t be refused, and smiled.

“It’s too late now. Let me drive you.”

Everything seemed so reasonable and righteous, as if he was really considering the boy’s well-being.

However, after he had just grabbed the boy’s wrist and pulled him inside, he showed no intention of letting go.

As if he had forgotten.

The boy’s coat was quite loose, and the sleeve covered his wrist, so the man’s hand didn’t directly touch his skin.

But Ruan Qing still felt a strong sense of discomfort. He struggled slightly, as if startled, wanting to escape the man’s control.

It was as if the man had just realized that he had forgotten to let go. He immediately released his grip, apologizing with a smiling face, “Sorry.”

Ruan Qing kept his head down and remained silent.

After reaching the basement floor, the man walked out of the elevator first, saying, “Let’s go.”

The man took a few steps forward, but seeing that the boy seemed to be hesitating and not following, he stopped and waited for him.

Ruan Qing pursed his lips, hesitated for a moment, and ultimately followed along.

He didn’t want to go with him, but the man was so domineering that he didn’t give him a chance to refuse.

The landlord’s name was Jiang Sinian. His specific occupation, residence, and social connections were unknown.

But Ruan Qing knew one thing, and that was that he had a terrible and perverted personality.

If you didn’t go along with him, he would use force to make you comply.

If Ruan Qing didn’t go along, he believed that Jiang Sinian would forcefully drag him along or forcefully send him back.

It’s better to walk on his own than to be dragged by the other.

Jiang Sinian’s car was parked on the basement floor, and he walked to his car and considerately opened the passenger door.

Ruan Qing had no choice but to obediently get in.

Jiang Sinian drove leisurely and glanced at the teenager in the passenger’s seat, asking, “Where to?”

Ruan Qing cautiously glanced at Jiang Sinian and softly replied, “Taoyuan Road, Fengya Bar. I apologize for the trouble.”

Jiang Sinian was somewhat surprised and glanced sideways at the teenager, asking, “A bar?”

Ruan Qing nodded slightly.

The man tapped his index finger on the steering wheel a few times and casually asked, “Do you go there often?”

Ruan Qing hesitated for a moment and nodded again.

Seeing the boy’s nods, Jiang Sinian felt somewhat displeased, and his eyes darkened slightly. He thought of some possibilities, and his tone turned colder. “What do you go there for?”

Ruan Qing seemed to sense the man’s displeasure and became even more nervous. “To borrow, borrow money to pay rent.”

Taoyuan Road’s Fengya Bar wasn’t far away, and they arrived in ten minutes.

Ruan Qing wasn’t making up the address. The original host had accidentally been knocked down by a bar staff member while going out late at night in this area.

That person bought medicine for him, and they exchanged contact information.

But all of this wasn’t the main point.

The key point was that the bar was a mixed crowd, and if one wanted to take advantage of the chaos, it’s definitely the best place.

Jiang Sinian parked the car at the entrance of the Fengya Bar, and Ruan Qing opened the door and got out of the car directly.

Just as he was about to enter the bar, Jiang Sinian stopped him. “The bar is too chaotic. It would be better for you to call someone to come out.”

Ruan Qing glanced at Jiang Sinian and didn’t argue with him. He obediently took out his phone, found the person’s contact information, and sent a message.

[Hello, I’m outside the Fengya Bar. Can you lend me 500,000 yuan?]
