I’m scared too…

It’s not yet time for him to become a fallen angel. Why did this happen?

Tiptoe. As I stepped back due to the frightening pressure emanating from Ilya, he followed me step by step. The door touched my back in no time.

Ilya demanded, looking down at me with half-crazed eyes. “I want to hug you.”

Why did that sound like he wanted to eat me? Is it because I’m too scared? Even if Clyde hadn’t warned me before, my instinct refused. “…I don’t think that’s possible.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s not right to do something like that when you’re not the person I imprinted on.”

“Then imprint me, now.” Ilya hugged me roughly and tried to bite my back.

Crazy! I struggled desperately because biting the back of someone would result in an imprint.

“Stop moving! Step back!”

I used magic, but Ilya didn’t budge. Then, I remembered the medicine bottle I had kept in my pocket since I hadn’t yet developed the magic to make subspace inventory.

Damn it. I didn’t expect to use this already! I quickly took out the pill and tried to put it in his mouth, but it didn’t work. What should I do?

Ilya must have been annoyed by my resistance, so he put my right hand above my head and bound me. I put the medicine in my mouth and pulled the back of his head before my left hand was grabbed too. Ilya responded with a deep growl like an animal and roughly pressed his lips against mine. Thanks to this, I was able to push the pill from my mouth into his.

When he felt something was off, and momentarily parted away his lips. “…Swallow it!” I gave him a strong command, covering his lips with my hand.

[Wee-woo, wee-woo, wee-woo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

Ding!

[I thought it was romantic because the heavenly atmosphere was so strict, but… the skinship is the best part, right?]

“…Are you feeling better?”

“…”

He couldn’t answer. Because he immediately closed his eyelids and fell on top of me.

“Uargh! Become lighter!” I quickly lightened him up with magic and barely held him in my arms. “Fyuh, I almost got crushed into death.”

Ilya, drooping like a drunk, was not very heavy, thanks to magic. But he was so tall that his legs dragged on the floor even when I carried him on my back.

“Gosh.”

Flop! I laid the huge Ilya on the sofa and sat beside him to catch my breath. Then, all of a sudden, I started crying.

“No matter how hard mode it is, is there a need to be this brutal?”

He was shocked when he found out the truth about the heavenly world, but he didn’t lose his mind. Is this influenced by his body?

Archangel Ilya was already a formidable opponent, but now I had to be wary of his slipping away. It felt like my head was going to explode.

“Ugh…” At that time, Ilya, who was lying down, let out a groan in a suppressed voice. Then, he slowly opened his eyes with a face distorted by pain.

“Are you okay?”

Should I call Marin?

Ilya opened his mouth as I tried to get up restlessly. “…Why are you here?”

“Lord Ilya called for me. You opened the door yourself. Don’t you remember?”

“Me…?” Ilya murmured, touching his forehead as if his head was pounding. “I don’t remember.”

It’s a relief that he didn’t remember, but why did his memory disappear? I didn’t know if the loss of his memory was the aftermath of his red eyes or the aftereffects of medicine.

Ilya raised her upper body and sat at an angle.

“You look pale. Should I call Marin?”

He shook his head as I spoke anxiously. “I don’t think Marin will be able to diagnose it, so that’s enough. It’s similar to the feeling I experienced in the elders’ meeting room before.”

It also meant that he would be fine if he came into contact with me.

It’s dangerous to make physical contact. An accident had just occurred in which Clyde could read my memory from being in contact with me, so I couldn’t hastily hug him.

Fortunately, Ilya didn’t ask for any skinship from me.  Instead, he got up from the sofa and moved to his work desk as if he were staying away from me. He spoke with an expressionless face that was pale but could not reveal that he was in bad condition at all. “I don’t know why I called you, but I don’t have any business, so go out now.”

Is it really okay to just go back? What if his condition worsens again?

“… I’ll be in the secretary’s office. Call me if you feel unwell.”

Ilya answered briefly, “Yes,” and then lowered his gaze to the papers. He gave me an atmosphere in which I couldn’t talk to him more. So I bowed awkwardly and left his office.

It was shortly after Theresa left the office. Ilya let out a hot breath and collapsed his upper body. His head had been throbbing ever since he heard that nonsense from Samuel. Then, right after arriving at the central headquarters and ordering them to prepare for a matching rate test with all female angels, his memory disappeared.

When he came back to consciousness, he was lying on the sofa. He saw that Theresa’s right wrist was bright red. His intuition told him that he was the one who did it.

Even after seeing that, I almost hugged Theresa and kissed her. It was an abnormal desire. He was so shocked that he couldn’t forgive himself for feeling such a desire. His throat feels dry. It felt like a thirst that would never be quenched unless he took Theresa’s breath to his dry throat. This was absolutely not normal.

Ilya immediately called for Delios.

“Did you call me, Lord Ilya?”

“How are the preparations for the matching rate test going?”

“We’re sorting through the list. From the high-level angels who are presumed to have a high probability.”

“Just get anyone into central headquarters right away.”

Delios blinked embarrassingly at the unreasonable command.

“Did you not understand what I said?”

“…No. I’ll call the currently selected angels to the testing room. Lord Ilya has a meeting with the crisis response team, so you can leave right after the meeting is over.”

“The meeting will run on its own. Testing comes first.”

Delios was embarrassed for the second time and hesitated, not like a competent aide angel. He managed to come to his senses and asked carefully. “Should we prioritize the testing match rate and cancel all your scheduled events?”

Even though he thought to himself that it was ridiculous, he still asked. But Ilya readily nodded his head.

“Let’s do that.”

“…I understand,” Delios answered, feeling as if he would faint from surprise, and then left the office.

Afterward, Ilya grabbed a pen and broke it because he couldn’t control his strength.

“…”

He felt so dirty that he couldn’t work as usual.

* * *

When it was time to get off work, of course, I tried to go to the Tower of Light with Ilya. However, an angel came and guided me to a supply warehouse and said, “You can use this place starting from today.”

“You want me to use this warehouse?”

“Yes. And take this.”

I dazedly accepted the ointment as if I were handing it over. “Why is this?”

“Who knows. I was only told to give it to you. Anyway, I’ve finished explaining everything. If you have any questions, ask the chief of staff.”

After an unkind explanation, the angel left as if his job had been done.

“What on earth…”

Ding!

[???? What kind of situation is this??? Is the professor suddenly going through a phase of denying his liking???]

Ding!

[The Constellation ‘The Professor is Controlling Me’ has sponsored 100,000 coins.]

[I’ll believe this is a step back for a leap forward…]

The constellations expressed their dissatisfaction with this situation, saying it was very disappointing.

“It didn’t seem like he hated me…” I squatted down, muttering like a sigh in frustration.  The ointment, whose purpose was unknown, was thrown on the shelf.

“If you’re going to kick me out, at least give me a house. Why is it a warehouse in the central headquarters?”

There is no place for low-level angels to stay in the central city, but the warehouse in a corner like this is a bit too much.

In any case, there was a fact that I realized as things turned out to be like this. It was that Ilya was purposely staying away from me.

“I can’t sleep anyway, so sleeping doesn’t matter…”

However, I couldn’t figure out why Ilya was staying away from me.

“Should I just go and find him?”

Right. Instead of being dumbfounded, let’s go and ask why he’s doing this.

I jumped out of my seat and headed to Ilya’s office. Then, I found a long line of female angels. They were standing in a line, entering a room, and leaving quickly.

“He’s testing the matching rate.”

But didn’t he start the test so quickly? I remember there was a gap of about a week because there was an event.  Anyway, I couldn’t visit Ilya because he started the matching rate test.

“Is he feeling well…”

Now that he’s doing the matching rate test, he must feel better, right? I scratched my cheek and headed to my new home, the warehouse. Strangely enough, my steps felt heavy.

* * *

The matching rate test continued to the point it was disgusting. Because of that, I couldn’t meet Ilya again today, so I had to hang around and go to the secretary’s office.

“Theresa! I need you to go to the new island in District E with me!”

“Yes, I’m going.”

Still, there was good news in the gloomy situation. It was that the work I did secretly in the secretary’s office was greatly recognized. The angels in the secretary’s office later entrusted me with several tasks, and a month later, they let me carry out an entirely important project. Isn’t this good news?

I walked out of the secretariat with a limp face in exhaustion and approached the angel waiting for me. His name is Yosep.

“Your face doesn’t look good,” Yosep said with a worried expression but quickly picked me up to take me there.

“If you already know it, will you leave me alone?”

“That’s troubling. Thanks to Theresa’s brilliant sight, finding a useful island became very easy.”

These days, I have been searching for a new island rich in resources and a good place to live. At first, I pretended to find a new island on the map created by my team, but now I’m looking for it through hard work!  But somehow, every place I randomly chose turned out to have decent islands. It was like insanely good luck.
