Lady Ria informed me of why that event happened. My own Mother had used mind control magic on me. Disturbing, yes. But usually, you can only use it on a person once before it stops being effective.
The fact that I almost got Lady Celia killed, while unknowingly following my mother’s orders, still angers me to this day. To think that I could be used like that…
In the end, it all worked out. Mena, the ghost girl that Celia was intent on helping, had taken over the body that used to be my friend. Such a thing usually takes a while for the body and soul to accept each other, so the girl is still sleeping in Celia’s estate.
I was still on the fence about letting Mena take her body, but her actions during the fight proved that she at least deserved a second chance. I mean, she didn’t run away. Despite being a spirit, that demon could still even hurt Mena, but she still stayed.
Being held captive by this kingdom, was nowhere near as bad as it sounds. It wasn’t like I was held in one place, nor was my movement restricted. Sure, I had maids watch me all the time, but it was better than being locked up.
Frankly, being stuck in this kingdom is far better than going home. My mother probably sees me as a loose end. As for her, she will most likely go to war with Yona. For what reason, I have no idea.
Leaving out all of the complicated stuff, Celia and her friends accepted me quickly, and they all treat me as if I was a good friend of theirs. As I can see spirits, they can tell me when someone is lying or not. Not once have any of them lied to me.
I wasn’t even this close with my long-dead friend, so of course this was surprising to me. What was even more surprising, was what Celia easily admitted to me…
