IllyasArt Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 31: Odd Girl.

*Yona’s POV*

After I left Celia, she just started exploring the forest. Honestly, I truly wished for her to get stronger, but life doesn’t always work out the way that you think it would.

The monsters in this forest, all of them were as strong as that Goblin Champion. As such, it would have been a bad idea to let Celia try to kill any of them. This forest is barely traveled, and what kind of monsters that dwell here, were completely unknown.

It now made sense to us why most people that go to this forest, end up dying. Although with that group of shitty hero's, we took the safest route to that dungeon. So we didn’t come across any of the monsters. If we did, I would have just let those monsters kill that group. Which would have been far easier to do than what happened in the dungeon.

Back on topic, sure, Celia could probably be able to kill the monsters in this forest, but she would sustain a lot of injuries just killing one monster. Let alone the hundreds that my maids and I have already killed to protect Celia.

Celia was then seemingly about to fall, resisting the urge to save her from falling, luckily she was able to stop herself. My group and I were greatly worried about what could have happened to her. But after discussing it, we came to the conclusion that she hasn’t slept for over a day. So she must have reached her limit.

This is where a problem happened. As long as we watched her, she would be able to sleep safely in this forest. But she had no way to know this. At this current time, Celia was still just a fragile human child, who would easily die from staying awake too long. While we were trying to figure out what to do, Celia wandered off.

She oddly went into a bad looking house without any hesitation. Which meant that she must have been extremely tired. The house looked to be inhabited by a witch. Any person that could live out in this forest, would have to be very strong indeed.

Which gave us yet another problem to deal with. There was a barrier around the house. Celia most likely couldn’t see or feel it at all. Since it was a barrier that was set up just to alert whoever made it that someone, or something entered it. Whoever set up this barrier, probably doesn’t feel threatened by Celia.

But if we went through the barrier, they would be on high alert. As such, we couldn’t risk Celia’s life by us going into the house to save her. Whether or not that she will actually need saving, we do not know.

A few hours after she went into the house, a woman showed up, and went inside. The woman was very powerful, that much I could tell even without a System. All we could do now is hope that Celia could handle this woman…

Celia left the house not long after that. What she did, we have no idea. But she looked to be perfectly fine, if not better than when she entered the house. Celia was clearly very crafty, so she probably bribed the witch with the Mana Crystals that she had on her person.

The cute little girl then walked around the forest for a while. She was seemingly upset that she couldn’t find anything to do, and looked to be very bored. Celia then did something crazy…

She took out an axe, and then started to cut down random trees. That on its own would be fine, but the problem is that her doing this, angered any treant or wooden living monster, in a mile radius was angered to all hell! While she kept cutting down trees with a smile on her face, my maids and I were at war with treant’s…

After we dealt with all of the treant’s, Celia finally stopped cutting down trees, so we could now relax. This couldn’t continue any longer. Celia is smart, so she will at least realize that I have been following her this entire time.

Out of boredom, she is doing crazy things. Honestly, I was hoping that she would get strong as fast as possible. But letting her risk her life like this, would just end up with her getting killed. She needs to slow down.

Even if she will hate me for following her, I needed to get her to the human kingdom nearby. Or at least, that is what I plan to tell her. Leaving her in the care of that kingdom, might have her end up as our enemy. As such, I plan to take her to a further away kingdom, using a teleportation array. But first, I have to actually talk to her…

Just as I guessed, she was aware of my deceit. Convincing her that I only wished to help her, and get in her good graces, was quite hard. I do not know how old Celia truly is, but she is already very wise. Even so, I did manage to convince her. Though, my maids will have to remain a secret.

If she realized that there was an entire battalion of battle maids following along with her, she would be even more upset. I did say that coddling her would be a very bad idea, but here I am, doing the same thing that I advised her against.

Could you really even blame me? She is just so damn cute! I haven’t known her long, but I do already see her as my own child. As such, clearly my maternal instincts got in the way, which made me coddle her, rather than help her grow.

Frankly, there really was no reason for me to act in secret like this. Because of my upbringing, dealing with nobles and the like, my desires to always act in a way that I will end up winning, won out on everything else. I should have just followed along with her, and with her consent. Then our relationship wouldn’t have been strained…

Now I feel even worse, since I have to also convince her to not go to that evil kingdom. She seemed to be very upset with the Goblin Slavery in her dungeon, so maybe I could leverage that to convince her?

It is worth a shot. The kingdom of Leretia has always been ruled by evil people. Slavery is common in that kingdom, and they spread that sick practice to the three other kingdoms near them. If I tell her that I will take her to a more enlightened kingdom, surely that would convince her to go to that kingdom instead, right?…
