Giselle couldn't come out to admit it publicly, but she does under the tight spot expressed her wish to know about how Lillian lived in all these years.

Jenna cared no more or even felt scared for her life from sharing Lillian's stories even without the author's permission. Seeing Giselle's needy face, she thought it was right to share some details with her. She smiled at Giselle's gesture, reliving the years to remember about Lillian Grey.

"Hmm, let's see, her personality never changed. She enjoyed doing her job and had grown to become an accomplished writer," Jenna glorified Lillian's career. However, when it came to Lillian's personal life, she paused to absolute silence, thinking about the Lillian she had observed from behind.

"Ms. Lillian- she is a very odd person. She seems happy to everyone- she does, but at rare times you could see her hurting alone! I've noticed it quite a lot of times- her suffering!"

Jenna's words etched a sharp sting to Giselle's interest. She felt sorry for asking since it seems to affect Jenna as well.

Jenna had a somber face glamoured with a deep concern for someone she respected.

Intruding Jenna's heartfelt confession is the elevator's arrival as they reached their floor finally. Both Giselle and Jenna stepped outside in an alarm to catch a distant glimpse of their colleagues hustling, remembering the deadlines flashing before their rested minds.

Giselle snapped out of her dazed state to realize that their long journey had ended at the wrong time.

"We're back- wow, Mr. Norman returned to his desk. We better hurry up, Ms. Giselle, before he catches us," Jenna said to take the lead and hurried a few steps before halting to find that Giselle hadn't moved an inch.

Jenna recognized that they were in the middle of something serious and that she was in charge of sharing Lillian's story with Giselle. Jenna knew that it mattered to Giselle, but work is more important right now as she ushered Giselle to respond.

"Ms. Giselle, what do you say- we continue this after work?" she suggested, hinting that they could catch up later.

Giselle looked up in hope to find the chief editor, Norman's face, tensed from all the work. She deeply exhaled to agree and joined Jenna as the two returned to their seats.

When Norman noticed to inquire the ladies about their absence, Jenna jumped to inform that they had just returned from a lunch break. Norman was too busy for having any suspicions, and in fact, he had work to assign them, so hurriedly, he minded his business as the ladies recovered from getting caught.

The next few hours had the ladies at the edge of their seats as they worked without taking another break or partaking in a friendly chat. They worked hard at their jobs to excel and never bothered to get disturbed with any other thoughts until the end of the day.

The month of December means its the Holiday season and everyone wished to spend it with their family. However, the month of December also denotes early sunset for the people in New York. It was only half-past four in the evening, and the sky had already turned into a light pink color, indicating the farewell of the daylight.

Giselle waited in the pantry, all alone as occasionally people stepped in for a short break. The small room comes with a grand view of the city from the top through its glass windows, and Giselle glanced at the sight to witness the silent sunset setting down as it said goodbye to its patrons of the city. Her work ended early before Jenna, so she thought to wait for her. While leaving her desk, Jenna signaled to warn Giselle not to indulge in any eating as she had plans for them.

Being Lillian's editor might be hard as Giselle watched Jenna drown herself into work. Since Gill is making her first book signing appearance, Jenna's desk got loaded with duties. Giselle left quietly.

Obeying to Jenna's words, she restrained herself even from getting a cup of coffee, which was also told not to consume.

Giselle continued to stare outside, ignoring the aroma of the coffee in the air as people entered to enjoy their break time. Somehow the hue painted on the sky resembled the color of the gown Giselle had slipped in without Lillian noticing and watch her wore the dress casually. It made her smile naturally from the warmth she felt deep inside. Slowly, her feelings for Lillian grew strong, and she could hardly wait to meet Jenna.

Finishing her work, Jenna reunited with Giselle, and they headed out straight into the streets.

Thus began the following, and so far, Jenna hadn't said a word about where they are going, but Giselle knew it had to do with their dropped conversation from this afternoon.

The crowded lanes with passengers and crazy shoppers filled the streets as it became hard for Giselle to keep an eye on Jenna. The chase continued until they entered into a common ground.

It was the Union Square Park, Giselle looked around to find people gathered in groups, families taking a stroll, kids chasing after their dogs, and so on. The casual sight of the park got Giselle worried if Jenna planned to continue the talk here. Just as Giselle kept wondering to herself, she heard Jenna yell all of a sudden.

"There they are!"

Her shriek distracted Giselle to follow the voice.

"Ms. Giselle, please wait here and see if you could find a place for us to sit down- I'll be back soon," Jenna said in a hurry to dash away the next moment.

First, the chase and now another new pursuit for her to find a place to rest- Giselle grieved as she walked around nearby in search of locating a decent spot.

From skateboarders to street vendors, dog walkers to demonstrators, buskers to break-dancers.

It was a lively environment despite the brisk wind blowing quickly and actively, making you feel cold, yet people seemed to be a part of the frolic, having a wonderful time.

A group of lively dancers took the stage in front of George Washington statue, making an electrifying routine with new moves and swagger. People scattered around cheered and made noises in support. From the place Giselle stood alone, she watched the performance for a while before distracting herself to find Jenna, waiting in the line of a food truck called the Cravings.

Giselle recognized the signboard, but she was too tired to care. Instead, she resumed her hunt to find a place to sit down.

Jenna returned to the place she had hastily left Giselle alone, and found her nowhere, nearby. She looked hard both left and right- in a flash of sight, Jenna saw a hand up in the air, waving at her.

"Ms. Giselle!" she yelled as soon as spotting her.

Giselle saved her a seat to receive Jenna. The first thing she caught is Jenna's occupied hands, overflowing with boxes, and wrapped up pockets. The oozing scent drew her in, and Giselle stared at it blankly.

Jenna chuckled to sit down first, praising Giselle along the way for finding a suited spot. She placed the handful of food in a space between them to catch a breath.

Giselle's eyes followed to keep gawking at the spread in front of her. The exhaustion had long turned into a taunting appetite, followed by a soft growl from witnessing the food.

"Please, Ms. Giselle," Jenna gestured, "I got us some lemon chili french fries, two mojitos- Ooh, the chicken wings are spicy- and finally their famous grilled cheese sandwich."

Giselle's whole mouth filled with saliva as she heard Jenna describe the menu awaiting at her reach.

Without uttering a word, she dived into trying the french fries first. The mix of sour and spice exploded on her tongue, making Giselle let out an audible moan.

"Wow!" she mumbled to pick some more fries.

"Please do enjoy it!" Jenna said to take a sip from her mojito cup first and then chose to devour the chicken wings.

Both ate scrumptiously for several seconds without sparring a word.

When starvation hits, even the most desired conversation could wait for a while. Only after drowning a pair of wings, did Jenna glance at Giselle to find her enjoying the food.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes!" Giselle said in pleasure.

"These are the items Ms. Grey treated me the first time we met!" Jenna said to witness Giselle's beautiful reaction.
