There was a hard limit on how far he would be able to progress without creating his own inner dream world.

He was feeling so tired right now that he felt like sleeping already, even if it was only for a few hours.

He looked at the spider that was crawling in the corner of the room and creating its webs for it to stay in this territory.
Adam was tempted to simply squash it using his telekinetic powers. But in the end he simply ignored it and went back to have some proper sleep.
He hoped that this meager amount of sleep that he was finally able to get at this moment would not be disturbed by something unexpected.
He slowly entered the realm of sleep, while the spider continued to form its web, while its numerous red eyes gazed quietly at the sleeping form of the boy.
