[Epic Ordeal: Grey Knight.

Description: An entity with the potential to destroy the world may appear if nothing is done. Do the impossible and make the entity coexist with the primary mind.

Reward: +30000 Karma points]

[Warning: After analyzing the tendency of the Host, it was decided that the Grey Ordeal has 60% of being chosen. Be careful. Fenrir's poison can pollute even the soul. Doing nothing or simply protecting the Primary Mind is advised.]

Adam for the first time decided to simply ignore the rewards that were proposed.

Though he noticed the absence of a Free pass given. Clearly, after whatever plan she had started, Eve was not able to convert her Karma into a Silver rank Free pass.

Making the one he had all the more precious.

Beyond this what interested him was content and in short, there were three roads he could take.

Kill the wolf and help Natasha take full control.

Let the Wolf take over Natasha and control the wolf.

Try to find a way for the wolf and Natasha to cooperate.

There was also a hidden fourth option where he could get additional rewards by killing the two.

The system was right. No matter how he looked at it, it was clear that option three seemed like it would give marginally more benefits in the long run. He didn't know how much of Fenrir the wolf in Natasha had, but it should still be something very substantial and promising.

'The warning is pretty clear.'

The Book understood him. There was no need to even contemplate the option of Killing Natasha. No matter how enticing the reward was, there was no way he would do it.

'Well. Whatever my choice is...I will have an easier time if I am strong.'

The strong made choices while the weak had choices made for them. If he was strong enough, whatever decision he made would not matter as he could be sure that he would succeed.

This was a simple reality.

'We will have the conversation about Eve later.'

He looked at the sleeping Natasha and smiled fondly before closing his eyes as well.

While he was not able to sleep currently, he could rest or meditate a little. At this point, any increase in strength will be welcomed.

But what he wanted to do was deeper than that.

He touched Natasha's forehead and focused.

[I advise against doing what you are thinking of doing now.'

Adam stopped.

'What do you mean.'

[For one her psyche is in a very equilibrated state. But there is no saying what would happen if you intruded on her subconscious and woke up the beast. Secondly, if the beast can poison the soul, while it obviously won't kill you, it will delay your ability to enter a dreamscape tonight and so you might have to wait another two or three days. By then it might already be too late.]

Adam sighed.

While he wished for nothing more than to refute Genesis's words, he knew that the Book was right.

He did not care about acting recklessly when it was just affecting him. But in a situation like this, he had to be very careful.

'Going to war while knowing nothing of the enemy.'

This was a recipe for disaster. But thinking about it, he had never been able to fight a worthy enemy while having prior intel.

He groaned and decided to simply meditate. This was better than nothing after all. Perhaps it could help his soul heal fas—-

'Fuck! Fuck! I am so fucking dumb!'

Adam cursed like a sailor when he realized something.

Why the hell was he trying to heal his soul wounds when there was someone in his acquaintance list that was specialized in dealing with such problems?

He groaned.

So many things happened in a row since he woke up and with him going in a coma not long after, he had forgotten about the one who could be called his greatest and most efficient ally after his mother.

.

.

.

Two hours later, Natasha woke up from her slumber, embarrassed as she was because of her lack of decorum and falling asleep on his lap. Adam managed to calm her down and the two decided to walk past this moment.

After calming down, Adam slowly brought Natasha back to the ground. She was disappointed about this as it seemed like a coming back to reality as well. The dreamy space and vast sky seemed like an illusion now to her but Adam promised that they would fly once again in the sky together and this time, they would even visit different places.

"I will take your word for it."

The smile she showed then was truly one that could make even the coldest man smile back in return.

Adam wished to spend a little more time with Natasha. Sadly she had to leave. Her schedule for the next few days was completely packed and there was not much she could do about that.

Even coming here was more of an exception.

In the end, Natasha and Fedora left together. Though not before Cecilia forced Fedora to come to visit them later on. Cecilia could be quite persuasive if she wished to.

Fedora was still a little frazzled by the attention Cecilia gave her. But she would be lying if she said it hadn't felt good. It was even more surprising that such a powerful hunter had shown such a favor to a supernatural creature like her but this made Fedora admire the red-haired woman all the more.

In the end, Adam watched as Natasha left in her car though not without giving him one last message.

"You still owe me one final truth."

Adam nodded. Indeed he did and he would not hide it from her. This would perhaps be the second greatest surprise of her birthday.

The first one is her survival. Now though, he had a snake to visit and some teddy bears to kill.

"Are you going out?"

Looking at Adam who was about to walk away, Cecilia asked to which he responded with a shrug,

"I learned some interesting things and I need to move."

"Is it another three-day trip?"

He could only smile bitterly to which Cecilia answered by patting him on the back as a sign to help him stand straight.

"I don't know what you are doing. But be proud. Don't be ashamed. You are a kid no more after all. Just...Keep yourself safe."

At the end of the day, Cecilia was a mother and even if her son was immortal it still hurt her to see him hurt.

"I will."

As safe as he could while getting tortured even in dreams.

(AN: A short arc. I hope you liked the different revelations and the development of the relationship between Adam and Natasha. Next is a short intermission arc then jumping on the second Dive in Dreamscape. Don't worry, not all the dive will be written. Only the important ones.)
