Haunted Duke’s Daughter C73

“Christel?”

“Are you surprised that I’m here?”

“Oh, no! I beg your pardon!”

Chris shook her head and left her seat.

“It’s getting noisy, isn’t it? I’ll go to……first.””

“Miss Christel! Would you like to join us, if you don’t mind?”

At Tina’s cheerful voice, Chris looked at Tina quizzically.

“You didn’t tell me what you were going to do.”

“Oh, that’s right. Actually, I did…….”

“Before you start, Tina.”

The one who interrupted Tina’s attempt to explain was none other than Lilia. Tina tilted her head to look at me, and then her smile hardened.

“For now, come.”

I tapped my finger on the table. A sound leaked from the ceiling. Sera gingerly kept her distance so that no one would notice.

S–I’m scared, Lilia.

Just for now, I ignore Sakura’s words. Looking straight at Tina, I saw a small movement in Tina’s throat.

“Yes, yes……”

Tina stood in front of Lilia with a hesitant look on her face. Lilia gave a smile to Tina.

“Tina Breha.”

“Yes!”

“Get permission first before you set up a rendezvous in someone’s room. Do you understand?”

“Yes! Sorry!”

Tina nodded her head vigorously, and Lilia nodded in satisfaction.

“Oh, my. What’s wrong?”

My gaze landed on Ira and Katie. The two of them only smiled vaguely together. When I looked at Chris and Sera, she saw that their smiles had also tightened. I wondered what was wrong with them.

S–I’m not going to say anything else…….But Lilia, let’s hear what you want.

Sakura seemed to be convinced somehow, but it still bothered her.

“Let’s see…….Do you want to go out for dinner?”

“……”

“Should I ask again?”

“Sure, let’s go.”

The moment I said that, Chris and Sera blinked at me for some reason. I threw them a look, wondering what it was this time.

“I have occasionally heard that Miss Liliane has walked into the common dining room…….”

“So it really was you, Liliane. I was surprised.”

By the way, I hadn’t told these two people, partly because I didn’t think I needed to.

“If that’s the case, I can’t go.”

Chris said that with a bit of disappointment, and Tina tilted her head to see why. Chris laughed at that.

“I’m sure you’re used to it with Lady Liliane but it is not desirable for us senior nobles to go to that side. It would make the others nervous.”

“Then I’d better refrain, too.”

“No, Sera. I think you’ll be fine. I’m well known in this school, for better or worse.”

Chris’s eyes turned to Lilia. She didn’t say anything, but gently looked away. Lilia was definitely the cause of Chris’s fame in the school. Apart from the prince, Chris was the only student who had a conflict with Liliane Aldis.

“Oh, but the cafeteria is where you get your lunch, not where you actually eat it.”

“Where are we going to eat?”

“What? Well…….The……my room?”

I naturally sighed, thinking that I hadn’t thought that much about the words that sounded so unsure of myself. Tina hurriedly said.

“No one ever comes to my room, so I thought it would be a good idea to get together with everyone, you know!”

“You don’t have to be so hasty with your excuses.”

I looked at Chris with a wry smile and saw that she had a difficult expression on her face. The people on the second floor had gotten used to Lilia, but as expected, if Chris went there, it would cause a commotion again. Chris must have known that.

S–I think we should do it here.

Lilia nodded at Sakura’s voice.

“Tina, is it possible for someone else to go and get lunch?”

“What? Yes. It’s probably okay…….”

“Okay. Alisa, can you go and get some for me?”

When I nominated Alisa, she nodded immediately, as if she had been expecting it. She quickly placed her things on the table and left the room.

“Hey, when did you……”

Alia looked at the table with her mouth half open. There were enough cups filled with tea for everyone.

“Weren’t you listening to the conversation?”

Katie asked curiously, which made Lilia a little happy for some reason, and her cheeks relaxed.

“My maid is excellent.”

“Lady Liliane, would you like to trade for my maid?”

“Absolutely not.”

She could tell that Chris wasn’t serious, so Lilia quickly returned to her posture, snickering.

S–I know it’s a good thing, but I feel like I’m being treated like an object.

Such a small murmur from Sakura was inaudible to Lilia.

While we were all drinking tea, Alisa returned with enough boxes for everyone. She dexterously opened the door and walked in. Tina, Alia, and Katie saw this and rushed to help.

“Was it too bad to let her go alone?”

“If we help, people will make a fuss again. We have no choice.”

While we were talking, the lunch box was placed on the table.

“Thank you, Alisa. Good work.”

“If it’s inconvenient I’ll move it to another place.”

“No problem, it’s fine like this.”

She bowed and took a few steps back.
