Chapter 48 – Change

[*meant he's in Leyu, as QC said in the previous chap. Had a hard time phrasing it and didn't know how to insert it properly^^;]

Whether it’s Leyu or Qin Chen, for the current Xu Jian, the temptation is fatal.

Who doesn’t want to hold the thigh of the Film Emperor? The moment Qin Chen said this, it was clear that he wanted to cover Xu Jian.

It was impossible to say that he wasn’t moved, but under Qin Chen’s gaze, Xu Jian finally shook his head slowly:

“It’s better to……forget it.”

To say no to Qin Chen’s face, Xu Jian felt it was too much of a test of his determination.

But he also knew that he couldn’t agree to this.

One, his current identity is inconvenient. Second……

Still, with that sentence, there’s Mr. Du behind Qin Chen. He didn’t want to cause trouble to the other party.

Although Qin Chen has now been firmly sitting in the position of ‘first brother*’ in Leyu, Xu Jian knows that it will definitely not be easy for him to get to this point today.

Xu Jian’s refusal was within Qin Chen’s expectations; he didn’t force him and just said:

“Then wait until you want to sign.”

Qin Chen wanted to sign Xu Jian with Leyu. In addition to his own selfishness, Qin Chen also saw Xu Jian’s potential.

He has looked for the supporting roles acted by Xu Jian, and he has always believed that there is only a lack of suitable opportunity between Xu Jian and popularity.

Meanwhile, Xu Jian just smiled when he heard Qin Chen’s words, not taking it to heart, and thought —

With such a large company as Leyu, all aspects have to be considered when signing artists, and it’s not that you can enter if you want to enter.

Raising his wrist to look at that time and seeing that there are still a few minutes left before filming, Qin Chen thought for a while but still couldn’t help asking Xu Jian:

“You really don’t hate Jiang Linxie at all?”

Xu Jian didn’t expect Qin Chen to ask this question. He was silent for a moment before finally shaking his head:

"Even if it wasn't him, my parents would’ve rushed up."

Xu Jian knows very well in his heart that no matter who was standing there, his parents would have gone to the rescue. In the end, Jiang Linxie was just a victim in that accident, an innocent passerby.

Even if he hated it, he couldn’t hate Jiang Linxie.

Who he should hate is the person who ran the red light that year.

Moreover, Jiang Linxie unluckily just happened to be there, then inexplicably carried two lives, and blamed himself for the death of the couple.

Xu Jian believes that over the years, Jiang Linxie must have thought more than once in his heart why the person who died that year wasn’t himself. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to see him because he blamed himself too much.
