Ch.4 : You see, our baby is crying.

A goodnight kiss?!"

Tang Ning was somewhat dazed by these words.

When it came to a goodnight kiss, Tang Ning thought of a mother kissing her baby's forehead under a warm yellow halo, quiet and peaceful.

But Mo Yunchu's dark eyes suddenly dragged Tang Ning into the adult world. His narrow, phoenix-like eyes were smiling, but this bit of mirth seemed like a disguise to hide his true demands, something lurking beneath this layer of gentle amusement.

Tang Ning was always clumsy at acting. A small segment of the script required him to take extensive notes and practice alone repeatedly, seven or eight times, before he could go from unbearable to barely presentable.

Not to mention Tang Ning had no experience in filming kiss scenes, especially with the same sex, something he had never even considered before, and he found himself somewhat unable to cope with the situation.

"Xiao Ning." The hot breath exhaled onto Tang Ning's earlobe, the husky voice like a dark current flowing through desire, "Don't be distracted."

At this moment, Tang Ning's left ear uncontrollably went numb. He wanted to turn his head—

His thin lips captured Tang Ning's earlobe, lightly sucking on it.

A tingling sensation swept over him instantly, accompanied by a sharp pain from being bitten by teeth.

How could this be?

Under the guise of being frail and delicate, Tang Ning's sensitivity increased to an exaggerated degree.

A circle of redness spread across his porcelain-white skin, Tang Ning's body trembled violently, his shoulders shook, his fingers flexed a few times, pitifully curling up, tears rolling from the reddened corners of his eyes to the tip of his chin.

Mo Yunchu also noticed the abnormal trembling of the person in his arms, he quickly checked Tang Ning's condition, "Xiao Ning? Why are you crying?"

His long fingers caught Tang Ning's tears, making his nails look translucent, Mo Yunchu gently kissed Tang Ning's eyelids, cheeks, chin, kissing away the tear stains, his voice tender to the extreme, a stark contrast to his earlier bullying demeanor.

"I'm tired." Tang Ning buried his face in the pillow, his shoulders twitching unnaturally, the exposed tender earlobe already swollen, still retaining the warmth of Mo Yunchu's lips, "I want to sleep."

Mo Yunchu quickly agreed and turned off the light.

Tang Ning turned his back to Mo Yunchu, a somewhat resistant defensive posture.

After a long while, Tang Ning fell into a drowsy sleep, not resting well, his snow-white bare feet poking out from the covers, his round toes curling and uncurling.

Tang Ning had a dream.

In the dream, Mo Yunchu and he were intimate, his stomach gradually growing. Mo Yunchu tenderly kissed his belly, telling him he was pregnant.

He was terrified and wanted to go to the hospital for an abortion.

Mo Yunchu looked at him sorrowfully, asking why he wanted to harm their child.

—"Look, our baby is crying."

Tang Ning looked down to see a crying face imprinted on his belly, complete with eyes, nose, and mouth. Upon seeing him, the face's wide mouth closed, its lips exaggeratedly curving up, emitting a giggling laughter.

Tang Ning woke up abruptly, his eyes wide open, his chest heaving violently, sweat beading on his forehead.

He was hot, but he dared not uncover the blanket, even retracting his exposed foot back in. The dream was too horrifying, making even Mo Yunchu beside him seem terrifying. The thought of Mo Yunchu sleeping right next to him—

Tang Ning turned his head, only to discover something even more terrifying.

Mo Yunchu was gone.

Where did Mo Yunchu go?!

At the moment Tang Ning realized Mo Yunchu's disappearance, he was extremely frightened, this fear even surpassing the terror of the nightmare. In the dark, he reached out for his phone on the bed but touched something cold and soft instead.

It was a sensation Tang Ning would never forget in his life.

Tang Ning's body stiffened, he wanted to retract his hand, but the thing's strength was astonishingly strong, firmly shackling his hand, then, it engulfed Tang Ning's fingertips.

Like a baby sucking on its mother's breast, it greedily sucked Tang Ning's blood.

It sucked so urgently, so fast, as if it wanted to drain all of Tang Ning's blood in one go, skin and bones included.

A child's body is so small, eventually, the abdomen would swell unnaturally, and Tang Ning's face would be imprinted on that belly, beautiful eyes, a tall nose, wide lips—

Tang Ning opened his mouth, crying silently.

He could feel that thing lying next to his pillow, his right hand being sucked dry of blood, feeling powerless, this sense of powerlessness spreading throughout his body like a tide.

The thing that was desperately sucking blood stopped, released Tang Ning's fingertips, the smell of blood emerging, Tang Ning, with his eyes closed, sensed a small head approaching his ear, cold, harboring unknown malice, whispering in a sharp, thin voice:

"Mommy."

Tang Ning lost his last bit of strength, he collapsed on the bed, tears silently flowing from the corners of his eyes, his trembling lips seemed to be speaking, he was calling—

Mo Yunchu.

The sound of the door handle turning, footsteps lightly entering the room, Mo Yunchu tiptoed back into bed, sleeping next to Tang Ning again.

The bed slightly sank, the warm temperature seeping through the bedding, Tang Ning lay powerless on the bed, his eyes lifelessly staring into the darkness, his skin pale to the point of translucency, like a delicate doll.

"Why are you not asleep?" Mo Yunchu's gentle voice reached his ears, "Did I wake you just now?"

Tang Ning remained motionless, unable to distinguish the boundary between nightmare and reality for a moment, unsure whether the Mo Yunchu beside him was a living person or a figment of his dying imagination.

Mo Yunchu hugged Tang Ning's shoulders, pressing him into his embrace, "Are you still mad at me? I'm sorry, Xiao Ning, I won't kiss your earlobe again."

Mo Yunchu's body emitted a warm woody scent, reminding one of a special, rich aroma from wood exposed to sunlight.

Tang Ning's eyes moved slightly, being gently held by Mo Yunchu, who carefully wiped the sweat from his forehead, softly asking, "Did you have a nightmare?"

That tender and powerful voice touched Tang Ning's nearly broken nerves, like flipping a switch on a machine, those surging emotions instantly flooding in, making Tang Ning's nose sour immediately.

He suddenly found the strength, his hands trembling as he hit Mo Yunchu's shoulder, as if Mo Yunchu was the one who bullied him.

How could this be?

It was utterly absurd.

In front of cold and strong people, Tang Ning was so timid he dared not even breathe loudly, but in front of someone like Mo Yunchu, who would unconditionally indulge and pamper him, his bad temper would emerge aggressively.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Mo Yunchu let him vent, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

"You're lying," Tang Ning's teeth chattered, hearing his own weak voice made him feel alive, "You promised you wouldn't leave me."

The continuous tears wet his eyelashes, his nose turned red, his entire tear-stained face looking sickly, like a rose drenched in a storm, placed in a glass vase.

That prickling sensation was heart-wrenching, as if silently stung by some hidden affection.

"How could I leave Xiao Ning? I just went to the bathroom." Mo Yunchu hugged Tang Ning, comforting him continuously: "Don't cry anymore, it's my fault, I lied, I'm really bad."

Tang Ning knew he was being unreasonable, but he was truly scared, he hugged Mo Yunchu, pleading softly, "Don't leave me again, okay? Wake me up next time you go to the bathroom, okay? I don't have morning grumpiness, I'm so scared when I can't see you."

"You left me alone here, I had a nightmare, I was so scared." He raised his finger that was sucked by the ghost baby, Tang Ning still remembered the system's warning, so he continued from the dream's premise in a trembling voice: "I dreamt a ghost was sucking my blood, it hurt so much, it was so cold, I wanted to find you, but you weren't by my side, I didn't know what to do."

Mo Yunchu took Tang Ning's cold finger into his mouth, the comforting warmth spreading from the fingertip to the heart, Tang Ning's fingerpad itched, his forearm felt weak, although it was meant to be comforting, Tang Ning absurdly thought—

He felt as if his own sharp teeth would pierce the skin, crushing bone and blood, even consuming the soul completely.

That scorching sensation in his mouth seemed like lava from hell, burning Tang Ning with fear, yet he was more afraid of Mo Yunchu not being by his side.

Tang Ning buried his tear-streaked face into Mo Yunchu's neck, deliberately saying pleasing lies to win Mo Yunchu's favor: "Mo Yunchu, I love you, I can't leave you."

Mo Yunchu held Tang Ning tight.

Tang Ning didn't know when he fell asleep, he vaguely remembered Mo Yunchu comforting him for a long time, Mo Yunchu's embrace was so warm, like a drowning person clinging to the only driftwood, with Mo Yunchu's company, he didn't have nightmares again, sleeping until dawn.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, landing on his eyelids, his long lashes fluttering slightly, Tang Ning opened his eyes, his consciousness still blurry, he even thought he had returned to reality for a moment.

Then he saw Mo Yunchu sitting by the bed.

Mo Yunchu seemed to be flipping through a script, a pair of silver-rimmed glasses on his nose bridge. With the glasses shielding his eyes, it was hard to read any explicit emotions from his handsome face. He had a bedside lamp turned on, the light at its lowest brightness, the cold-toned light casting on Mo Yunchu, spreading a scholarly and restrained sexiness with the halo.

Sensing something, Mo Yunchu looked towards Tang Ning, "Good morning, Xiao Ning."

He put down the script and reached out to touch Tang Ning's head, his fingers running through the fluffy hair, leaving a tingling itch.

Tang Ning, still groggy from sleep, had a few strands of hair rebelliously sticking up, his eyes red, a trace of having cried.

Mo Yunchu stroked over Tang Ning's slightly swollen eyelids, "I cooked eggs, I'll go down and get them now, and then i'll help you apply something to your eyes later."

Seeing Tang Ning not speaking as if agreeing, Mo Yunchu stood up, preparing to leave.

Mo Yunchu leaving = ghost baby appearing

This equation popped up in Tang Ning's mind, he instantly woke up, scrambling off the bed, not even bothering to put on slippers, hurriedly rushing to the door to grab Mo Yunchu's clothes hem: "Let's go together!"

Mo Yunchu turned his head, somewhat helplessly looking at Tang Ning's feet, "Not wearing shoes again."

He picked up Tang Ning, and turned to search socks in the wardrobe, "Xiao Ning, you have a cold body, remember to wear socks even at home."

Saying so, he took out a pair of white socks, naturally walking to the bed, kneeling on one knee, then lifting Tang Ning's foot, Tang Ning's foot was cold, Mo Yunchu's approaching hand was almost scorching in comparison, as if burning straight through to the heart.

Caught off guard by the touch, Tang Ning's instep suddenly arched, he was so startled he didn't sit properly, tumbling onto the headboard.

The long, strong hand firmly grasped Tang Ning's ankle, dragging back Tang Ning's fleeing bare foot, he lowered his head, seriously putting on the white sock for Tang Ning.

"I can put on the other one myself." Tang Ning couldn't stand the feeling.

Mo Yunchu looked up at him, through the glasses, his narrow phoenix eyes imposing, "I want to help Xiao Ning put them on."

Tang Ning had a weak personality, he instantly lost his nerve, "You're troubling yourself too much."

Mo Yunchu's thin lips curved up, imprinting a kiss on Tang Ning's foot.

"How could it be trouble, I like Xiao Ning the most."
