After putting the blade down, he came up to Yernia and covered her with a blanket.

His hands were gentle as he wrapped her up.

“Are you really cold?”

“Yes. It was alright when I slept.”

“I said something about hugging you to sleep.”

Yernia, who looked like a large burrito as she rolled herself inside the blanket, sniffed.

The fire grew after Cassian had tossed some wood in it.

“What if you catch a cold at this rate?”

He seemed worried about her but she was too fixated on his chin.

She was looking at it the whole time since she woke up that morning.

Shaving and Cassian was a new combination.

He must have grown up now to do something like this.

“Sleep a little more. It’s still dawn.”

From what she could see from the white curtains covering the entrance, it was still dark outside.

She had to listen to herself.

If she woke up now, she might die from drowsiness during the day.

Yernia had a lot of work to do.

Cassian returned to the bed and gently reached out a hand to remove the stray strands on her face.

“I feel a bit weird right now.”

“Why?”

“You shaved. When did you start?”

The large hand removing the hair from her face touched her cheek.

When Yernia shrugged her shoulders, Cassian withdrew his touch and flicked her forehead out-of-the-blue.

“You find it fascinating but I’m more amazed by you.”

“Why me?”

“I wonder how you can sleep like that.”

Honestly, Yernia hadn’t watched anyone sleep except her family.

Now that she got married, Cassian’s presence didn’t make her feel alone anymore.

“How did I sleep?”

He smirked, recalling something.

“Secret.” He replied teasingly.

It was subtle but it made her feel anxious.

Did he hear her snore?

“Did I snore?”

“Secret.”

Yernia paled when Cassian refused to answer the question.

He only smiled a serene smile.

“Did I drool?”

“Well…”

Why did he smirk while slightly rubbing against her chest?

“It spilled a lot here.”

“Don’t tell me.”

“It’s cold so stay still.”

When Yernia pulled out her hand trapped under the blanket and tried to touch around her face, Cassian stopped her.

He straightened out the messy blanket and glanced down at Yernia.

She was still shocked.

“Do I have such a bad sleeping habit?”

“You can try to change it.”

Cassian left Yernia and sat a bit far from her.

As she sat on a wooden chair, he picked up the razor in front of the table.

Lifting his chin, he stared at Yernia.

His gaze still looked arrogant at first glance and an eerie stubble had already crept up from under his chin.

The cream application and the shaving process appear strange somehow, making her confused.

How should she put it?

It was a little weird.

Cassian didn’t seem to look like Cassian.

His eye contact with Yernia was persistent as he shaved his face.

Did he want to have a snowball fight?

“Will you do it for me, Yernia?”

“What?”

“Shave me, please.” Cassian suggested washing the cream off the blade in water.

It was rather tempting for she did have a strong urge to apply that cream once.

Still, she had never done it.

Yernia shook her head when she saw Cassian turn the blade’s handle toward her.

“I haven’t tried that, Cassian. Just do it yourself.”

“I can’t do it since I hurt my arm a while ago. I’m afraid I might have to amputate it at this rate.”

Yernia flinched at the word ‘amputate’.

“I thought it was alright until a while ago.”

“I’m just pretending to be. The troops might feel uneasy if they see me hurt.”

Cassian was a playful man but she didn’t expect him to care that much about what the soldiers thought.

It appeared like he could be serious if he wanted to.

Now, Yernia was forced to wake up.

What could she do if he told her he was in pain?

“What if I hurt you?”

“Then, please be as gentle as possible.”

“I’ll do my best. Don’t move.”

Yernia became nervous the instant she grabbed the blade.

Could she do it well when she hadn’t even held a blade in her entire life?

Considering her previous disasters with the apples and potatoes, Cassian knew how bad Yernia was at using blades and knives.

She took a deep breath when her hands began to tremble.

Yernia touched Cassian’s chin with a finger and lifted it.

When she carefully brought the razor blade to his jaw, Cassian grabbed her wrist which terrified Yernia.

Cassian gently took the razor blade as if it was no big deal and fixed how she held it by clasping her hand.

“Like this, Yernia. It will be easy to shave me at this angle. If you do it like before, you might lose your husband forever.”

“I’ll get a hold of myself and try my best.” She said grimly.

Cassian chuckled.

Did she say something funny?

He looked at Yernia with his chin up.

No wonder her mouth watered as her hands shook on their own accord.

Wake up.

Yernia widened her eyes and brought the blade back to his face again.

Cassian might have found her incompetence frustrating but he still instructed her calmly. “Move it downward for a little bit.”

“Here?”

Yernia did what Cassian told her to do.

“Can you see the veins on my neck?”

“Yes.”

“If you place the razor blade there, I’m going to die. If you want to kill me, don’t stall.

Yernia, who only did what he told her to do without much thought, quickly took her hand off.

She narrowed her eyes at his joke.

“You’re so bad, Cassian.”

“I already know you wouldn’t kill me. Do it again.”
