Those sleeves had three loose layers upon each other like armor!
She also had cape that just stopped before her bottom! This cape was black with similar white lines and it was only seen thanks to its wideness. Otherwise, Xaya's long hair would cover it!
This was the only properly covered part of her equipment if one ignored knee socks. Those sleeves were indeed cool and exuded powerful deathly black aura that made those seem as if possessed by the death itself.
However, Kyoya could even accept her exposed stomach and white breastplate-like equipment that showed off her cleavage. Xaya's previous dress was similar when it came to her ample chest. This 'bra armor' was truly Xaya-like, so the husband didn't say much.
