Chapter 587: Panic buy.

While the public was wildling, Adidas was having crazy sales.

The Chen Huan t-shirts that were staying in warehouses around the world were transported to the cities and to the store via cars.

Adidas’ largest warehouse in China was in Huhai.

Out of the 2 million first pieces of t-shirt made in the first batch, 100k was assigned to China and 10k shirts made its way to Huhai.

After the second game of the Western Conference Finals ended, it was around noon in China.

Adidas advertisement started around 2 pm.

First, there was an ad for Adidas during the rebroadcast of the game and on a program discussing Chen Huan.

Since late April, the sports channel has been basically always and all about Chen Huan.

If they weren’t broadcasting the Lakers game live, it was a rebroadcast or some few analysts discussing Chne Huan’s performance and enjoying the greatness of Chen Huan in both offense and defense.

But the fans were eating it as no matter which program it was, the rating would be insanely high.

In that month, sports program’ ratings were only second to the news programs and overwhelmed all the other programs.

So at least 20 to 30 million people saw the Adidas ad when they watched the show.

This advertisement was very simple and it was just Chen Huan wearing that red t-shirt giving his all on the court.

No need to speak or sensational words, just Chen Huan sweating and resolute eyes while training was enough to make the viewers watch intensely.

The final scene was a big plan on the red t-shirt.

There was a text saying, “Everyone is welcome to buy it on all of our major storefront across the country.”

Apart from TV, there were also ad social media and all across the internet.

Many people clicked on the ads and saw that Chen Huan’s t-shirt was released for sale.

The only shame was that Adidas couldn’t get an ad on Pomelo.

This couldn’t be helped, who told them to miss the opportunity of being the advertiser of such a popular streaming service?

Nike’s bold investment gave them an advantage as they would at least make back five times the amount they spent, which made Adidas very envious.

Nike was obviously even more envious of Adidas.

The director who was in charge of negotiating with Chen Huan was mercilessly let go.

The reason was he already had a great helper like Kobe but was still so haughty by lacking any urgency so ended up having Chen Huan being snatched away by Adidas.

This was absolutely unforgivable!

This also put tremendous pressure on Nike’s future endorsement and advertisements.

Some analysts even pessimistically said that Nike would lose his position as the biggest sportswear in basketball and that at least 30% would go to Adidas now.

This was deeply hurtful.

So if they didn’t fire an idiot like that, who else would they fire?

There were around 200 Adidas stores in Huhai and 38 of them were operated personally by them.

The resource allocated would certainly be different.

Their largest flagship store in the most prosperous neighborhood would certainly receive the bigger portion of the quota.

Without knowing how much was in stock, the people would certainly go to the flagship store as soon as possible.

Tao Bin, who was working at a building 500 meters away from the flagship store, immediately made an excuse to slip off the moment he saw the ads.

Then he ran to the flagship Adidas store.

Tao Bin then realized that there were many people running alongside him and they were going in the same direction.

Some people who were in a hurry also started to run after seeing people run.

Those who ran ahead started to run faster.

Those normal people, who were walking, were frightened and thought something happened.

The police had their comms in hand and were ready to deal with any incidents.

Fuck!

Tao Bin saw the hundreds of people in front of him and started to have a bad feeling.

In the end, he was dumbfounded when he arrived at the entrance of the Adidas store.

He saw that fences had been put there and there were around 300 people waiting in line.

There was a notice that said, “Queue here if you’re here to solely buy Chen Huan’s t-shirt.”

“The ad had been broadcasted less than 10 minutes, right? Why are there so many people?” Tao Bin couldn’t help but complain while panting.

“I had the same question.” A man in the front said with a smile, “Many of them ran to here after seeing the videos after the game and although the clerk said it may be not possible to buy it today, they still went to the queue. Luckily, the wait wasn’t for nothing!”

“Yeah, the one they are selling to the people in front aren’t the first batch anymore! The goods had already been delivered before the ads and started selling.” A girl said, “If I knew, I would’ve come here first the moment I knew! Now, I don’t know if we’ll be able to get it!”

“No way?” Tao Bin said nervously, “This is Adidas largest store in the country and even if they are about to be out of stock, aren’t there a dozen other Adidas stores? It should be enough!”

“Nothing is certain.” Another fan joined into the discussion, “Don’t you know how foreigners think? They think the most important markets are Europe and the US, then it’s Japan, Korea and South America before it’s finally us China. If they estimated it wrong, the first batch will be sold out soon!”

“Haha, that’s why we rushed over to lineup!” A forty years old ball fan said, “I’ve been a basketball fan for more than 20 years. It started back then with Big Zhi followed by Big Yao and then Yi Jianlian. Now it’s Chen Huan. It’s a miracle for Chen Huan to be play like a god and already surpass Big Yao so how can I not have a shirt endorsed by him and add it to my collection?”

“Uncle, you’re right!” A teenager nearby said, “This shirt will have an historical significance if Chen Huan wins the NBA championship in his first season! I already thought it through, I’ll buy one to wear it and another to keep at home and use as a souvenir!”

His words stunned everyone who could hear him.

He’s right!

Why I’m so stupid?!

Why were they thinking of buying only one?

Wouldn’t it be great to buy one or two more?

Whether it was to wear it later or keep it as a souvenir, it was all better.

“However, they seemed to limit the purchase to only two per person otherwise it would be all bought by a single person.” Some other ball fans told them the news they heard.

“Right! It’s only fair!”

Fans expressed their approval.

A female office worker said to the teenager, “Little bro, you’re sure rich, it’s 350 per shirt and you want two!”

“For the sake of Chen Huan, I took out all my savings from the New Years Holiday!” The teenager said, “Maybe you don’t know but this shirt is a very special material and it’s very difficult to replicate! So 350 is not that expensive! The key point is to show support to Chen Huan!”

“Right!” Tao Bin said, “Us people, whether it be ball fans or music fans, we came here with the intention of supporting Chen Huan so we must buy the originals if we want to buy, otherwise what’s the point?”

“Exactly!”

Everyone agreed with him.

As time passed, the queue got longer.

By the time Tao Bin bought two t-shirts, there were a thousand people in the queue.

“Bro!” A man in his thirties immediately came to talk to him after seeing the two bags on him, “500 yuan for a shirt, how about you sell it to me? I will pay cash right now!”

Tao Bin ignored him and turned away to leave.

What a joke!

He just heard from the clerk that the entire Huhai only had 20k shirts and that store only had 2k.

From what he could see, each person was limited to two shirts and there were five to six hundred people in front of him. How much shirt would there be left?

Most people lining up now wouldn’t be able to get a shirt and would be queuing for nothing.

If he sold the two shirts he had on his hands, he would probably have to wait three or four days, no, at least seven or eight days to buy again, right?

When the time came, he could only watch those hardcore fans wear the shirts everywhere, this would hurt too much!

As for selling one of them, he wasn’t interested either since it was on 150 profit and that couldn’t buy out his admiration!

Collecting the first t-shirt from Chen Huan was more meaningful than that profit.
