Small sized humanoid monsters carrying shovels and pickaxes fell to the ground as a big group of over one hundred humans clothed in ragged clothes fired their guns at them.
The monsters were two times more than the people fighting them, but they did not have the technology of firearms nor did they have spells in their arsenal like the common Fireball, Earth Spike and other similar spells.
In the middle of the group could be seen a small group of three people, a dog and a strange, half a meter owl as they helped the others in dealing with the remaining monsters.

A dog's growl could be heard as a red figure bit into the neck of a monster. Disgusting sounds of flesh being ripped apart could be heard, but they were soon engulfed into the crazed cries of the people and monsters.
The small group of the trio and the two beasts were Wang Tao and his group.

The Kobolds had no special characteristics other than their short figures and the shovels and pickaxes they were carrying. In short, there was not much of a difference between them and Goblins.

"I have also reached level 7." a smile full of delight could be seen on old man Zhang's face
"Good job, you two. We should kill more of these monsters and level up faster." spoke Wang Tao as he checked his notifications

Just from fighting the Kobolds helped Wang Tao and Kiki to gain a level but Fire actually managed to get two!
Thinking for a moment, Wang Tao allocated all his points in Intelligence and Wisdom, two in the former and one in the latter respectively.
As they regrouped with the others, Wang Tao managed to find really useful informations about status points from the other survivors.
Strenght - as the name implies, the user gains additional power, muscle strength and endurance.
Agility - it increases the speed of the user, making his whole body react faster, attack faster and the reaction of the person.
Intelligence - the user gains additional spiritual force, allowing him to cast more spells.
Wisdom - the user's ability to focus and accuracy are highly increased
Luck - this stat was still a mystery to the people but some of them believed that the higher your luck is, the better your chances of acquiring rare items was or the chance of an attack to miss a vital spot.
Wang Tao and the others were equally distressed thinking about the status points. Normally, in novels and movies the system would explain everything related to the system, just like a godfinger, a system that supports and explains to the user all the information he could get his hands on.
But they...they haven't even gotten any information!
Still, Wang Tao was happy about his discovery. He has decided to focus on Intelligence and Wisdom so he can cast more spells and in the future, when he finds more Skill Books, he might actually find ones suitable to him, unlike what happened in the past, when he tried to learn the Fireball Skill.

The crowd immediately cheered before rushing through the bodies like a bunch of wild animals scavenging whatever they could find.
'Morons...' thought Huang Lu as he looked at them with contempt
After the people finished their small 'treasure hunt', the people quickly regrouped around Huang Lu, the lucky ones happy with their findings, while the unlucky ones threw angry looks at the others.
"Don't worry my friends, there will be an even bigger chance to get more treasures soon!" loudly said Huang Lu
His words immediately attracted the crowds attention, eyes filled with greed waiting for Huang Lu to continue.
"Wang Tao, my friend, come here!" called Huang Lu, interrupting his conversation with the others
Hearing his name called, Wang Tao had a strange feeling as he walked to Huang Lu's side. Looking at the young man who was called to sit beside Huang Lu, the people had a weird look on their faces but didn't say anything.
"I know that you must be curious why i called you here, but we need your help!" said Huang Lu with a chuckle
"How can i help you?" asked Wang Tao warily, as the strange feeling he felt earlier intensified
"Well, it isn't actually you, but it's that Baby Kikiyaon of yours that we need the help from. I'm sure you have realized it by now, but we can't fight against the goblin army with only so many people. One of my subordinates actually discovered a humongous beast in the north of the city deep in slumber. We need your help to..."
"No!" roared Wang Tao indignantly, interrupting Huang Lu's speech
They wanted to use his Kiki as bait?! There's – no – freaking – way he's gonna allow that!

Taking a few steps forward towards the crowd, Huang Lu's eyes turning cold instantly, making the hearts of the people beat faster.
"My friends, we have sacrificed so much for this expedition, when we left, we were over three hundred people, now, we are left with a quarter of us! Who hasn't made a sacrifice just so that our families, friends and people that are still hiding underground can survive? Who hasn't fought against those beasts, dying their hands in the blood of our enemies?!" roared Huang Lu at the stunned crowd
His words were like a spark that starts the fire, climbing higher and higher untill it was a burning inferno of rage.
"Who do you think you are?! We should all contribute together so that we can ensure that we succeed and less of our brethern die in this damnable world!" screamed a lady from the crowd

Hearing the crowds screams and roars of anger, greed and different mixed emotions, Wang Tao's heart turned cold.
