"Sure, go ahead, the class was about to end anyway." The crazed old man quickly threw her under the bus.

Et tu teacher?

"It goes without saying but I only require Starbright," Selen said before she even made an attempt to stand up, this meant that she also felt Rossie's mana tremble beside her. "I do not require, want, or will take Rossaline Singh to see my [Liege]."

*crack*

Elizabeth felt it first than see it, but suddenly the whole room atmosphere turned cold, almost everyone in the room paled and then as if nothing had happened she felt a wave of mana forcefully return it to normal. "Miss Singh, please rein your outbursts. We accepted you in the class under the assumption that you would control yourself." The crazy old man said.

Then he turned to Selen and added, "Selen. Stop edging Miss Singh, you may be on the cusp of achieving A-Tier power, but with that attitude, no one will respect you." Was that girl about to achieve A-Tier power?

...No.

Anyone but her, it was..."[Appraisal]" Elizabeth intoned her skill trying to peruse that status, she focused on the information that she already knew trying to get past all kinds of defenses she could have.

...That was more information than she expected to get...

"So what will it be Elizabeth? Will you come?" Asked Selen looking at her with a smirk on her face, then turning slightly to the side and up. What was behind her? "Or will you leave us waiting like that brat?"

Elizabeth turned back and saw Akira's red face, he was angry. As in very angry, Rena to her side seemed to want to unsheathe her sword if the disturbance in the mana around her hand was something to go by.

Was the crazed old man negating the activation of her skill? Was that even possible?

What?

"Miss Dawnstrike, please stop edging my students. This is tiring and not all of us have the free time to [Level Up] as you youngsters." The crazy old man said while ushering her away with a movement of her hand. "Miss Starbright, leaving aside her poor manners you can trust Miss Dawnstrike and the [Student Council], they just need to check on some things. But it isn't obligatory for you to go with them."

So she had an option?

But then again...Why had she forgotten the title Selen held?

It was in the same style that her former title wasn't it?

"I will go. I had already said so anyway." Elizabeth said and started walking towards the exit, "See you later Rossie."

And the door closed behind her before she was able to listen to the answer of her Rossie, a turn of her head saw the impassive face of Selen. Gone was the playful smirk that she had before.

"Let's go." Instead, it was a stoic impassive face, one that said she would not answer anything from her.

Elizabeth followed suit while studying the previous [Status] screen she had been able to see, and thought about if she would be able to peruse more information from it.

Maybe she could try and dig for more information? They weren't speaking anyway and the walk should give her some time, so without further ado, she tried to prod the screen for more, and so she found the descriptions for the [Titles] she was holding.

This is one of the subordinates granted to the [Servant of the Akashik Records]. They work as loyal subordinates who hold the safety and well-being of the servant above all things. Even their own well-being. As such they hold no qualms to eliminate anything they deem a danger or harm to the servant. The Left-hand works as a guardian and bastion against magical dangers to the servant, both from the outer planes (Beings from the heavens, hell, or void) and from magical interference from within the plane. This Title symbolizes the pledge made towards the servant, so long that the pledge is in place, the servant is able to receive help from the library of spells of this title at the cost of mana from the Left Hand. The farther the distance the more mana is drained from the bearer of this title.
[This title binds his bearer to the will of the servant, so long the bearer works towards the goals of Akasha. They will receive an easier path to power]

This title symbolizes the user has made a contract with a celestial being and has bound its power to do her bidding instead of the other way around. It grants the user access to [Holy] elemental magic and attunes her mana to the divine element. Allowing the bearer to cast [Divine] type spells at a cheaper cost. It also transforms the mana of the user into the higher order type of energy used by celestial beings [Prana], allowing the bearer of the title to interact more easily with [Life Force] making her healing spells more effective.

Contract: Seraphis
Archangel Seraphis is an Archangel of the Light and Order variation, specializing in area denial spells and bastion-type enchantments. He is among the highest available contracts a [Holy] type mage can ever achieve, there isn't any record in the mundane world about anyone ever managing to make a contract with this Archangel. So not much information is available.
[Currently, Saturating Seraphis with mana from its contractor and binding him, progress 80%..]

Title as [Magical Girl] granted to Selen Dawnstrike for how she is seen as a healer in war zones, for her appearance signifies salvation to her allies as she flutters around the war zone ignoring both enemy fire or harsh environments, this title grants the user increased zone awareness and allows her to be identified as ally from further range. It grants moderate phasing abilities so long the user is moving with a [Good] intent.
[Intent is determined by Karma and how it would affect the user, so long the user ends in positive karma she will be able to use the phasing ability.]

...Yes, that was still as she remembered. Poor Seraphis seemed to be in a worse position than before, she had vague memories of Seraphis being the one saturating and not the one being saturated, not that it mattered to her what was the deal with that anyway?

To saturate is to fill something with something else right? So was Selen using her mana to transform Seraphis into something different? Was that even possible? She didn't want to know, she had bad experiences with [Someone] trying to do that.

So for now she would pretend to not know that tidbit of information and move along, Selen hadn't reacted in any way, so maybe she hadn't noticed?

Next was...Her [Job], that didn't look like a [Magical Girl] job, and more of a cultist. So might as well check to make sure she wasn't being brought to a cultist ritual or something.

A [Magical Girl] subtype job, it is among the highest order possible to be achieved granted by the system, but since this one is bound to another its points will always be less than the [Owner] of the [Magical Girl] in question. It grants access to [Soulscape] and different types of mana, it allows the user to change [Skills] as wished, and grants full access to the high-order [Identify] skill without needing to level up.

It also allows the user to use the high-order mana (Prana) without backlash, in exchange it bars the soul of the user from ever achieving [Apotheosis].

"What?" Elizabeth asked as she read the last parts of that.

"Is there any problem Elizabeth?" And Selen quickly answered, for a second her eyes seemed to shine with an inverted cross on them, as if she was getting ready to do something...

Why was everyone using weird spells on their eyes?

"Oh nothing, thought I had seen something weird." Elizabeth answered while focusing on dismissing that last screen, lest Selen noticed.

"...Sure, we are almost there so be on your best attitude." And like that Selen resumed walking.

She was having a harder time processing that one, first of all. What the hell?

Second of all, WHAT THE HELL?

Third (And this one was important) WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FRICKING HELL?!?!?!?

"..." But Elizabeth couldn't properly have a mental breakdown right now, as Selen seemed to be on the lookout for her, she could vaguely feel some weird mana in the atmosphere.

Was this that [Prana] thing Selen could use? She hadn't heard of that one besides some mentions on Selen's previous [Status] and it seemed that it had survived the [Advent], so was it special?

She found it mildly disturbing that this job barred one path for Selen, [Apotheosis]. A quick perusal of her internal library found the term was used mostly in ancient civilizations.

It basically meant:

To the elevation or exaltation of a person or thing to a divine or godlike status

Yes, the [Status] screen said that Selen no longer could be deified by the masses as a [God]. Funny thing right?

Specially since [Mother] had made sure no mental manipulations could ever work on this world, so how did that work? Because if the world wanted to deify Selen then would the [System] nip that idea from them?

Because that was mental manipulation, the other idea...Well, she wasn't a fan of it, because then that meant that before this... before this thing was in place...

Before Selen had the [Potential] to become a [Goddess], like [Mother]. And having her as a deity wasn't something that she looked forward. Maybe she was biased because of their previous talk, but she didn't like this girl.

"We are here, if you try anything you will [Die] there are no [If] or [Maybe]. You saw my [Status], Rossaline does not have enough [HP] to survive or divert enough damage to save both of you." Selen warned her, and before Elizabeth was able to even think of an answer she saw them.

The Student Council once more, "Welcome Elizabeth." And in the middle, the silver haired girl that was at the helm beckoned her to enter.

"We wanted to speak with you after the [Advent] but found it hard to locate you, especially with all the [Her House no longer exists] and [Elizabeth Starbright, daughter of Jack Brighton and Catherine Starlight does not exist]." Evangeline Galaxidae spoke, "It was quite baffling to be honest, more so when [Elizabeth Ashcroft, now Elizabeth Starbright an Orphan Girl who has Technology of the Nine Stars and is in a coma] popped up."

...She remembers?

"Don't mind them, they wanted to get a look at you and wouldn't let me be alone to speak with you in peace." The Student council president said.

"Hmph," The albino with red eyes said and moved for the door, he stopped briefly at her side and whispered "Weak" before moving on.

Rude!

He was probably right as she tried to move some mana to activate her [Appraisal] only for the mana to refuse, but still!

"We will be ready for you if you need us Eva." The black-haired girl next to the student council said before moving and grabbing Selen by her hand, "Don't mind Asher, he is grumpy 24/7. Nice to meet you, Inheritor."

And like that Selen was removed from the room, she already liked that girl.

"Do you require anything else Miss Galaxidae?" The last person in the room spoke, his voice...She knew that voice.

"No, that will be all Magnus." The student council president said, this prompted him to bow and turn to Elizabeth. "Do you require something Miss Starbright?"

SEBASTIAN!

HE WAS LIKE SEBASTIAN!

"No, by any chance do you know a little butler called Sebastian? You resemble him." Elizabeth asked, only to feel dumb for asking. There was no way he knew of her little butler.

"I never met any man with such description. I do know I had a brother with that name, but sadly he died at birth, taken from us by [The World]." Said Magnus before moving on. "We will be at the waiting room, enjoy your stay with Miss Galaxidae."

And like that, she was left alone with the student council president.

"So," Started the silver-haired girl, "Presentations right...As you know I'm Evangeline Galaxidae, the current [Student Council President]."

...That was all?

"Elizabeth Starbright," She answered back, and added "Currently a [Transfer Student] since most of my paperwork seems to have been gone amiss."

"Yes, that...[The World] has taken quite an interesting turn, hasn't it? You who was the [Rightfull Inheritor]...are now an orphan. Your [Parents] who were supposed to be mere stepping stones are now loyal [Servants] taking quite the spots up there..." Evangeline said with some mirth in her voice, "Quite the interesting turn of events right?"

..."[Appraisal]." Elizabeth focused all her mana into the form of a spike and fired the skill at the silver-haired girl.

Status

Name: Evangeline Galaxidae

Active Title: Student President

Passive Titles:

[Servant of the Akashic Records]

[Future S-Class Hero]

Level: 29

Health: 100%

Mana: 100%

Stamina: 100%

Age: 17 years

Soul: 17 years

"Tch..." Elizabeth only got the bare of the status, only interesting part was the [Title] and [Level] of the girl in front of her. And even that didn't give her much information.

If the feeling of resistance she got wasn't from the other four students then this meant that this girl had quite a heavy amount of [Status], no way in hell her [Job] was a normal one then.

"Sorry about that [Inheritor], but the [Identify] says you no longer have that [Title], we are treating you with respect for your former [Title]. But our [Liege] is [The World]." Evangeline said as her demeanor turned more serious. "We wanted to speak with you since as far as I can see you have quite the interesting [Title] there. Miss [Heroine]."

...Had she seen her [Status]?

BUT SHE DIDN'T FEEL IT!

"I can't quite see all of it, as that would breach the intention of [The World] but I see you have the [Hero Title] and so that means [The World] expects something of you." Evangeline elaborated, good. So that meant she had only seen that one... But had she read the description then?

As far as she was aware [The World] wasn't the one that granted her that one. But her [Parents], and they didn't want something from her, but wanted to make sure she wasn't affected by [Fate] as she had been affected before.

"So?" Asked Evangeline, "Are you aware of what your [Mission] is? Is it the same as Akira, Rossaline, Michael, and Rena?"

"How much do you remember of my [Parents] and [Me]?" Elizabeth asked back, "And who else does?"

"A question for a question?" Evangeline laughed, "Couldn't expect less from the [Inheritor] we do crave [Knowledge]. Fine."

What did that have to do with anything? Elizabeth wasn't quite sure, but she could work with that.

"I know your parents' name, I do not know what they did for a living nor how they are related to [Framework] and [Odyssey]. I suspect they were brought along as [Familiars] with most of the [Saintsworths] when they disappeared from this world." Evangeline started saying while showing her a book. "This is the [Evidence] for my theory. There are some sites full of these things, but no one is able to interact with them or perceive them. They just move past them. Akira is no exception to this, Michael seems to be able to perceive the mana distortions but he can't identify them either."

"That is one blurry book, can I see it?" Asked Elizabeth and Evangeline gave it to her, it seemed to be made of leather and looked quite old.

"Among the student council, only Magnus and Selen can interact with them, but so far only I'm able to read them," Evangeline said as Elizabeth looked it over and opened it, it was a recipe book mostly about mango dishes. "Not that I am able to retain the information."

Elizabeth turned to look at her, "As soon as my eyes leave the book the information vanishes from my mind." But this was a recipe book.

"So? Is your [Mission] related to this?" Evangeline asked with fire in her eyes.

Elizabeth wasn't quite sure how to answer that, "The short answer would be no." She looked at the book again, and noticed the name of the author at the back, "But I'm somewhat related to this, you could say in another life this affected me, so these books are more of a legacy."

The book cover said it all, [Alexanders Saintsworths 100 ways to prepare Mango dishes to annoy your coworkers.] and on the cover was a doodle of a little girl with blonde hair. Probably Alexa if she was thinking about who it could be.

"I see, as for the answer to your question... I'm aware that [The Mother of Shadows] and [The Juggernaut] remember some of the pre [system] world. [The Juggernaut] had a scuffle with the other members of the now defunct [Twelve] and left their ranks for that reason." Evangeline started explaining while bringing a newspaper with a troubling headline.

[City is destroyed in the fight against otherworld invasion.]

"As far as I'm aware, only those two have clear memories. [The Prophet] and [The Warlock] may remember fragments, [The Tinkerer] may have some logs but as if she is able to parse that information is anyone's guess. As for if any of them know you or your parents...That would depend on how high they were among the Saintsworths work." Evangeline finished saying waiting for her answer.

Well, now how should she answer that...?

Elizabeth didn't know if her parent's normal job was with the Saintsworths or not, if she was by logic, they were related, the Saintsworths controlled most of the world after all, and her mother apparently had been a Saintsworths even!

"I'm not sure." But for now, she answered as such, "[Father] and [Mother]'s work was high in the hierarchy, but even so. I didn't interact with many of their coworkers, so maybe they will not remember me."

She wasn't quite sure what to hope in that case, "And what about [Chloe]?" That would be more problematic to deal with, "Does [Echidna] remember her?"

"I have no idea." Evangeline answered without even stopping to think about it, "I have no interactions with her. I do know she had an important job to do, but [The World] does not confide everything it does. Nor do I ask [The World] for everything, it is not my place to do so."

...Dang it.

"Fine, and before you ask. I do not know what the [Mission] Akira and company have on [This World]." Elizabeth said before Evangeline had time to ask, "I do know Rossie's only mission right now is to be Happy. Anyone that even attempts to stick another thing on her will have... Unpleasant times."

And no, the shadows in the room didn't tremble nor started to take figures resembling demonic maws or eyes, nor did her shadow start showing signs of morphing into a reptilian maw with azure embers for eyes.

No sir.

"...I see." Evangeline said, "This is troubling, Akira refuses to speak with us after Lily and Selen cut that [Soul Thread] he tried to spread into them, and Asher doesn't let me make a connection with it to see what he wants."

...Oh, so Akira tried to get his slimy hands on the student council?

"Selen didn't fight back?" Elizabeth asked, she imagined that not doing anything back, she had been quite hostile to her after all.

"Oh she did, but since he is a [Hero] she stayed her hand. She is quite sweet once you know her, she only broke a few bones and left Rena stuck to a pole for a few hours." Evangeline answered back.

Yeah, that was more like it. Poor Rena though.

"Well, that was all I needed [Inheritor], if you need anything to fulfill your Mission do contact us. And while I wouldn't imagine telling you how to do your work. Do try to keep Akira under control." Evangeline said while passing her a card with contact info.

Contact info of the five members of the student council.

"...Why do I need to keep Akira under control?" Asked Elizabeth, she didn't want to deal with Akira. At all.

"Isn't the work of a [Heroine] to keep the [Hero] under control?" Evangeline said back, making Elizabeth shudder at that implication.

"Sorry but no. I'm not a part of Akira's [Heroic Party]. So I do not need, want, or will ever work with him." Elizabeth stated before grabbing the card and leaving the room.

Yeah no, nope, no sir. Nothing in this world could convince her to ever think of being the [Heroine] to Akira. She could maybe be the [Heroine] to Rossie, but not to Akira.

"...So can I swat Akira?" Asked Selen as soon as she exited the room.

"Yes." Elizabeth answered and then turned to walk away.

With some luck Selen would deal with that, maybe they could also deal with the soul thread that joined Akira to Rena?

That would be nice. But she would worry about that later, for now, she had dinner with Rossie to worry about, and wondered what they would have for dinner?

So long it didn't have mango on it....
