Elizabeth ended up waking up in her bed with her pajamas on and sprawled in her bed in a somewhat awkward position. She didn’t remember putting these on though. And her sports drink was laying by her bedside table. At some point had she changed?

Her door was half open and Nyx was sleeping on top of her desk. So perhaps the little dragon had changed her?

Either way, the pajamas she was using right now were comfy and a quick sip on her new favorite drink was all she needed to get that little jolt of energy to clear the fog that was on her mind. She hadn’t slept all night in quite some time. Especially after her awakening/triggering ceremony.

She still didn’t have a good term for that event either…Perhaps empowerment? That felt in line with the overall theme they used…Yeah…

She hadn’t slept all night since her Empowerment ceremony.

Was it the soothing feeling the shadow energy gave her? If that was all she needed to sleep all night, she was going to spend more time orbiting her [Soulscape]. A quick look in her [Status] brought her the news that her mana was finally above 50%. Her stress had fallen to 0% and so she felt quite nice today.

While not sleeping all night hadn’t raised it, it was creeping up slowly but surely after her Empowerment. Whatever those cracks that leaked shadow energy were, they had helped her find out the soothing effect the shadow energy had on her. So she was grateful for that.

So renewed of energy and leaving her new favorite drink in her inventory she moved forward to a new day!

“[Identify]!” Of course, she would ascertain the true identity of this mysterious drink. She trusted her father, but if this ran out of juice she would need to get a new one.

Identify:

This elixir is born from the tears of a dying planet. Harnessing the essence of a celestial body to create a drink.

This Cosmic Elixir is a shimmering concoction that radiates a mesmerizing aura, all hidden behind a special alloy made out of the carcass left at the death of that celestial body. Its color reflects the wonders of the cosmos.

This elixir was tempered using the dying solar flares of its home system to condense and focus the mana in its liquid. The base of the bottle is made using the crystal core of the world that once housed the soul of that planet, so it regenerates itself.

Since it was made out of the purest mana essence this liquid is the best mana recovery potion in existence, but its effects are diminished outside its home dimension. Overuse of this substance can lead to the person drinking this to try and restore that world to its peak.

[The user is immune to the last effect thanks to the protection awarded by its title]

…I beg your pardon?

What?

How?

What?

The blonde girl couldn’t help but stare at the sports drink that was now sitting quite comfortably in her [Inventory] not sure what to make out of it. Had…Had her parents destroy…No wait, it used the term [Soul] and [Death] so…Had her parents killed a planet?

Then used the body and soul of that planet to make a mana potion?

That…Wasn’t possible was it?

But then again, her mother and father had the correct status points…And that was without looking into [Buff] skills and spells…

Wait, wasn’t her father’s alias [The Harbinger of Destruction]?

So that’s why people referred to her father as such in the back when they thought he wasn’t looking…

She…Wasn’t sure if it was right to keep drinking that, so for now she would leave it in her [Inventory] and deal with that later on. She might take it out if she ended in negative mana again…How had that happened anyway?

Things to consider, Elizabeth wasn’t that worried about that, since it hadn’t given her more than a bad headache and a craving for the distilled liquid made out of the soul of a planet…Okay, she was more than worried about that drink.

Either way, she still dressed herself while wondering what to do now. She had prepared her new spells, a few surprises here and there, and she even diversified herself more. She also now could teleport with her magic!

Kinda…

She was still working on the math of the issue since it seems that to teleport one needed to use a complex formula. Besides the complex formula the spell needed, she needed to either scry her landing location or calculate the spot in a four-dimensional way, lock in then execute the spell, and make sure to bring all her belongings.

And then, use the end part of the spell to make sure everything was where it belonged and lock in her new place in the universe to make it ‘Stick’. The spell didn’t elaborate, and she didn’t want to ask her mother.

She was sure that it would be something like ‘You just need to feel it Eli-Eli. You gotta [Feel it]’ or something like that.

God dammed genius, making it all seem easy…

For now, she walked into their living room to find the pleasant smell of a good breakfast. She almost got a heart attack when Nyx flew towards the living area, thinking of how to explain the little dragon to her friend.

“Oh Hi Nyx, your breakfast is near the shade by the window!” Said her pink-haired friend while the shadow dragon just flew in that direction.

“Morning Eli-Eli!” And as if nothing she gave the blonde girl a bright smile and waved her to the table.

What?

“Amm…Morning Rossie..” Answered back the blonde girl. “I see you know Nyx…” Added Elizabeth while wondering how that happened.

“Yes! Such an adorable little guy!” Was the answer from the pink-haired girl. “We met last night, he was guarding your bed when I returned.” Said Rossie while drinking from his cup of tea.

Such a dutiful guardian.

“He also asked me for help to find your pajamas and change you.” Finished saying the pink-haired girl.

“ASDASDFASDFLHK” Making the blonde girl almost choke on her drink, today was a new coffee blend.

While Elizabeth was trying to not choke herself with the coffee going the wrong way, the pink-haired girl just smiled and kept eating. One would think she was enjoying seeing her friend flustered.

“Eli-Eli, you don’t have anything I haven’t seen before…” Said the pink-haired girl. “I will get sad if you keep getting that reaction.” Finished saying the pink-haired girl while putting on a sad face.

Elizabeth would fall for that if not for her mana leaking in her eyes making those heart-shaped pupils. “Very funny Rossie. Either way, thanks for helping Nyx with my change of clothes. I was really tired yesterday.” Answered back the blonde girl while doing her best to not think about who had changed her.

On one side it was her loyal [Minion] Nyx, the shadow dragon. He was capable of changing his form since he was made of shadows…So perhaps he could use tendrils to take her clothes off?

On the other side, it was her best friend, a pink-haired girl who right now was taking deep breaths to control her mana and return her pupils back to normal. She was enjoying herself too much since she was having a hard time keeping her smile away from her face.

That almost made Elizabeth feel angry for being the only one blushing at the idea of someone getting her naked on her bed while sleeping!

Was she in the wrong? She didn’t think she was the one in the wrong with this particular problem. Well, with some luck it had been Nyx the one changing her clothes and not Rossie.

Not that that would be a problem, as Rossie said…She didn’t have anything the other girl hadn’t seen before. They both were girls after all! Right! She was probably being weird… It didn’t help that Mother had told her way too many stories about other pink-haired girls doing weird stuff to the [Heroes] they were pledged to. And getting things done by those same assholes.

…No no no wait, roll back that one second.

“Rossie?” Said tentatively the blonde girl. “Are you…Pledged to someone?” And finally, that got the pink-haired girl flustered.

Since it was now her turn to almost choke on her drink, and that was with such force too!

Why? She even needed to use her mastery over the shadows to cover herself in an umbrella to prevent the liquid to get in her food and clothes!

“Awawawawawa.” Was all the pink-haired girl could say while her face was turning shade after shade of red faster and faster. “wawawawawa".

She even got stuck in a loop while her eyes were now shining with a pink heart-shaped pupil that looked like it wanted to leap out of her eyes for some reason.

“No, never mind. So what’s the plan for the day?” Asked the blonde girl with a self-satisfied smirk on her face. By the reaction she had gotten the other girl probably didn’t know what she was talking about.

That or she had met a nice guy and had already pledged herself as [Heroine blessed by fate] to him. Hmm…She hadn’t seen anyone else besides Akira with one of those titles. But she wasn’t in all the same classes as Rossie.

And Rossie hadn’t reacted to Akira when they met, besides a glare that is.

“Ahem.” While she was musing about that her friend had composed herself (Even though the heart-shaped pupil wasn’t going away). “We will go and register our Team at the school. Then go and either patrol the city or join a team.” Said her pink-haired friend, still with the heart-shaped pupils.

Was she bad at controlling her mana? She shouldn’t be that bad at it since she had quite a few high-tier spells under her belt… Granted those were of her own [Origin] so she probably got help on that front.

“Okay, then let’s go.” Said the blonde girl while looking back at her friend. She still had the heart's pupils. “Don’t move Rossie.” So she pointed her finger directly at her and focused inwardly, she wanted to test it before going so might as well. “[Light]+[Afix]+[Amp]+[Barrier]” Intoned the blonde girl while focusing on the [Idea] she wanted in the spell.

And one magic circle materialized at the point of her finger while the girl said “[Illusion]” And then the blonde girl felt mana leave her body. She hadn’t recovered her mana to 100% yet (It was hovering around 77%) but this spell was simple enough, even if she was using her power-up spell and it was a four-component one.

It wasn’t necessary, not the [Amp] nor the [Barrier] but she didn’t want her friend to be exposed if she could help it. Besides the spell was simple enough. It created the Illusion that the eyes of Rossie were normal once again.

“Thanks Eli-Eli you are the best!” Said Rossie while fishing a compact from one of her pockets and looking at herself, her eyes were normal once again. Of course, Elizabeth as the caster of the spell could see how the heart-shaped pupil flared strongly once again. And even felt some resistance as if the eyes of her friend wanted to declare to the world that they were there and what shape they had right now.

“Rossie.” Said the blonde girl while wincing under the strain of the spell to make the eyes look normal. “Get your mana under control, one of these days…” But even so, she still smiled and hugged the pink-haired girl. She had to admit her antics were growing on her.

“Yes~” And even though the pink-haired girl was saying Yes. She could feel the mana coursing through the eyes of her friend. Still powerful and didn’t have any sign of calming down. If nothing else, this would be a good practice to see how her new spells worked. She would cast some extra ones if they were needed. Most of the supportive ones she could cast without a magic circle anyway.

So on that note, Elizabeth went with her friend to the administrative wing, a few signatures here and there and she was registered as a team with Rossie. They did get asked if they wanted to join a more experienced team. But since Rossie didn’t want they parted ways as a duo of magical girls.

They got a nice wristband with a connection with the local emergency lane, courtesy of Rossie’s healing magic and her expertise with wind & water magic since she registered herself as an Elementalist. They got told that the wrist would not work outside of the hours they had allotted for their rounds.

Unless a catastrophic event happened that is. So she didn’t mind it that much, she got told that these weren’t guaranteed to work if saved in extra-dimensional space created by spells or skills. So she should take care of that.

It would probably work since she could use her skills in the things inside her [Inventory] but she would test that later under her guise of [Shadow Empress]. For now…She had a city to explore!
