I have become a Golem.
But just a while ago, I had a problem. Moments after reincarnating into this body, I realized there is a large gap between my perception now and before when I was a human. Morbid thoughts like killing fishmen came to me easily. I don’t even feel a shred of guilt.
Even while killing cockroaches and centipedes back when I was still human, I felt a bit guilty about them. Even I cannot bear not tidying up after killing them. It leaves a bitter aftertaste.
Despite that, I mercilessly killed the fishmen.
Although I also killed Sea Serpents, they only looked like overgrown snakes so I do not feel much guilty about them. Rather than that, I felt that they should be cut down. Yet when I killed the fishmen, it was similar and I didn’t feel anything. Am I a psychopath who easily kills sentient creatures without repulsion? That’s impossible! Even I couldn’t behead a chicken when I was human before!
Perhaps not just my body, even my heart maybe transformed into that of a Golem’s. At this rate, I might become someone far too different than I was before. This can’t go on like this. What should I do?

The reason I helped the mermaids was not because Pinky is cute nor I wanted to see them. Although it was partly true, I needed them for something specific.
As it was, it seems the direction I was treading to before was headed towards the deepest parts of the sea in this world called the Dark Sea. It was also said that a frightening monster lives there and those who tried searching for it ended up not returning. It is truly dangerous. That piece of knowledge was worth it.
By helping Pinky and by helping the mermaids, I arrived at their country and sought for information. For that, I need to ask them for a map of their country or possibly a direction for land. Although I cannot read letters, I can easily understand what they say. It is asking them what I wanted to hear that is difficult.

The mermaid country who just defeated the fishmen is now focus on rebuilding efforts. Their barrier is also reconstructed. To prevent what happened before where everybody was endangered from happening again, they improved it so that no one can easily saunter in and out of the country.
The mermaids are working hard to rebuild their ruined country. Some suggested to attack the fishmen country out of vengeance but the Queen was suppressing them. Presently, it is better to prioritize restoring the country. Still, there are those who voiced that with me there, no fishmen can possibly counter my strength and started to rely on me. They came to me almost immediately and asked for my cooperation. Of course, I just shook my head and refused them. I was a bit offended by the brazen guy.
I didn’t know what happened afterwards as I hastily followed Pinky when I saw her.
I tailed Pinky and got into a tour around the mermaid country and chanced upon different places. It seems our little mermaid Pinky has nothing to do. Even so, I did the best I could and comforted the downtrodden mermaids we met in our way. Although I went to various places, I couldn’t find a map. Haa~

Meanwhile, we visited a mermaid hospital. There, mermaids who are injured and those who received fatal injuries when defending the country from the fishmen’s attack were kept and are receiving treatment. For that, Pinky personally praised and encouraged them one by one. Fuu~ it looks painful. Although I never received a grave wound since becoming a Golem, just looking at them brings me pain.
One time, a young mermaid boy near me reached out. Gently, I grasped his outstretched hand. Seeing our hands, the boy became happy and excited. Oi, oi, you better calm down and rest!
If I stayed here as it is, I might aggravate the boy’s condition, so I silently left the place with Pinky. That boy seems to be full of energy.
