Before the game, both teams were aside preparing for the match.

Tang Yan was blocked by several reporters at the entrance because of his previously remarkable performance.

Whilst Ang Han Teng was preparing, he looked up from time to time over to where Tang Yan was. His gaze was a bit complicated.

He had just recently returned to the Singapore team, which would normally be a seismic-level event in the world of Asian archery. At this time, it should be that he was surrounded by reporters, but now Tang Yan's performance in the qualifiers completely robbed him of his limelight.

Just then the referee signaled the teams to make their final preparations. At this, Tang Yan was finally able to break through the group of reporters with the help of his coach.

Ang Han Teng's attention was still on him. Seeing Tang Yan looked impatient, it seemed he was uncomfortable being besieged by the reporters. This expression made him even more upset. This kid didn't even appreciate the importance of the media coverage.

Archery as a sport wasn't widely popular like basketball or football, as such it wasn't a highly profitable job. If anyone dreamed of becoming rich off it they would be greatly disappointed, in fact it couldn't be done as a full time occupation for most with only the top few managing to make a living off it.

Most had a side occupation and relied on sponsorship from companies and the government to subsidise them so they could compete. The sport had a relatively small audience so prize money and sponsorship deals weren't a great amount and didn't come around to often.

As such any media coverage was warmly welcomed by the community, getting coverage meant increasing your chance of being sponsored. Being left out the limelight Ang Han Teng was naturally displeased, he was hoping his return to the Singapore National team would drum up interest and gain him air time. But the media was glued to Tang Yan, hardly bothering with him.

Tang Yan made his way through the unrelenting reporters. When he looked up, he saw Ang Han Teng looking over at him with a disgruntled gaze.

Ang Han Teng was a slightly well known archer in his previous life. His fame came from notoriety, being known for changing his nationality several times for money. He held three citizenships, he was born in Singapore but his father was American so he gained U.S citizenship at birth. Then in the later years he moved and lived in Canada where he gained a Canadian citizenship.

There was nothing wrong with all this rudimentarily but instead of selecting and committing to a national team, he pawned himself off to the highest bidder each competition often joining which ever team had space or offered the most and as such although his shooting skills were superb, most archers were disdainful of him and his antics.

He played up a villain persona a lot of times, once smashing his bow after a loss during the Asian Cup. He was also well known for making snarky comments during the post interview.

The two continued to lock gazes with neither saying a word.

Finally then Tang Yan moved his gaze from Ang Han Teng and went to the Chinese Team area.

Ang Han Teng looked at Tang Yan and frowned.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

After that, he rushed to the preparation area of the Singapore team.

After the final warm-up, the two sides went to the arena.

With the debut of the two sides, the scene was followed by a burst of excited applause.

This time it could be said that the Chinese team was truly at home. The number of Chinese fans in the stands was tremendous.

On the Chinese side, Tang Yan was placed first in the order of appearance. As it happened, Ang Han Teng was also the first to appear on the Singapore team.

The game entered the most intense confrontation straight out the gate.

Because China ranked higher in the qualifiers than Singapore. They took the lead to shoot first.

Tang Yan took the recurve bow to the arena. After the referee's instructions, he was basically prepared. He took an arrow and shot directly.

Twang! Whoosh!

Twang! Whizz!

Boom! Boom!

He shot both arrows in succession, although not shooting as fast as in the qualifiers.

Not surprisingly it was two 10 pointers.

The scene followed with a burst of excitement cheers.

This showed the popularity Tang Yan was enjoying at this moment, even if many people complained and played down his skill saying he wasted two months of valuable training time, he was still the most popular archer in the country at this time.

Even outside the archery community he was still relatively well known due to the attention he received from the press, who painted him as the poster child for Chinese Archery and this Asian Games.

After shooting, Tang Yan turned to look at Ang Han Teng, who was ready to shoot. The latter was watching him at this time, and noticed Tang Yan's gaze. He snorted and then walked to the target with his recurve bow.

Although there was an inexplicable sense of superiority about him, his strength was very apparent to all.

After adjusting his breathing and rhythm, he also shot his two arrows for this round.

Twang! Twang!"

The two arrows flew into the center of the bull's eye, for two 10 pointers.

After shooting, he turned to look at Tang Yan with a provocative gaze.

Tang Yan felt his gaze and slowly looked up at the big screen.

Ang Han Teng turned to look at the big screen and saw the score which was 20-20, understanding what he was saying, he snorted and went back to his area.

After two months of training, Ning Ze and Qiu Tian were in excellent condition. Both of them shot 19 points in this round, which evoked cheers from the audience.

Making their score 58 points.

However, the Singapore team didn't fall behind too much either, the two other two archers were strong although not as ideal as the Chinese team. The two had a combined score of 37 points, allowing them to close the gap, they were only 1 point behind.

The score was 58-57.

The second and third round were almost carbon copies of the first round. Both Tang Yan and Ang Han Teng shot perfect sets causing the scene to become quite anxious.

The Chinese team only led the Singapore Team by 2 points.

172-170

With three rounds left in the game, this left multiple possibilities.

At halftime, Tang Yan turned his head and glanced at Ang Han Teng. Ang Han Teng's performance was better than his imagination.
