August 2014, a marketplace on Earth.

In the bustling city, cars came and went. The clear sky was suddenly covered with dark clouds, the sun disappeared in an instant, strong winds surged, and the dark clouds rolled and churned, turning broad daylight into night in the blink of an eye. Trees in the green belt swayed wildly in the wind, almost uprooting themselves. Beautiful women wearing flowing dresses on the sidewalk exclaimed in surprise, holding down skirts that were nearly lifted by the wind and running into nearby cafés. Sunshades meant for shade were carried away by the wind, falling onto the road and rolling out of sight. Newspapers and magazines in the newsstands rustled loudly, and in the blink of an eye, they filled the sky.

“It’s strange, the weather forecast clearly said there wouldn’t be any rain this week, and this weather changed so quickly.” The owner of a clothing store muttered as she moved her store’s mannequins inside.

At the ice cream shop, handsome men and beautiful women in line for ice cream to beat the heat quickly left, hurrying back home.

“Boom—” a sound resembling a thunderclap resounded in the sky, accompanied by a dazzling burst of white light descending from above.

Pedestrians on the street closed their eyes in discomfort.

Unnoticed by anyone, a crack appeared in the now dark sky, as if a huge gap had been torn open, and two figures, one black and one white, stepped out as if walking on level ground.

These two individuals wore modern clothing, and both were young and handsome, exuding an unparalleled noble aura. They looked like a perfect match.

The smiling young man glanced downward with shrews eyes, his face showing joy. He then turned to the man beside him, “Yuchen, we’re not in the wrong place. This is Earth.”

The man’s lips curved, affection evident in his eyes that could melt anyone, “It’s an interesting place indeed. Baby, you better take good care of me in your territory.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t sell you. I can’t bear to.” The young man laughed heartily, playfully kissing the man’s lips.

These two were none other than Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen, who had left the Qingchuan Continent to embark on a journey through time and space.

“Let’s go down quickly. Follow me.” Yan Ge held Huangfu Yuchen’s hand. He was genuinely worried about losing him, not because he feared not finding him, but because he was concerned about him facing difficulties in an unfamiliar place.

The two figures flashed by and disappeared.

Meanwhile, the dark clouds dispersed, and the scorching sun radiated its brilliant light, restoring calm to the world, as if the peculiar weather before had been a mere illusion.

The shop owners who had turned off their air conditioners due to the cold muttered as they turned them back on.

“This weather is really strange.”

The “culprits” Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen had stealthily blended into the crowd. Yan Ge had already bought modern-style clothing for both of them from the system’s store, so he was not worried about being out of place.

“We don’t have the local currency here, we need to sell some gold, silver, and jewelry.” Yan Ge said to Huangfu Yuchen. He had complete control over the system now and had already confessed everything about it to Yuchen. While they could shop in the system store, the best way for Yuchen to quickly adapt to modern life was to experience it firsthand.

“I’ll listen to you.” Huangfu Yuchen found it novel and enjoyable to depend entirely on his beloved for such matters.

Passersby looked at the two intertwined hands with strange eyes, but Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen paid them no mind, walking forward calmly. Occasionally, they heard a comment like “such a perfect match,” and both of their lips curled upwards.

Yan Ge wasn’t clear about the city they were in at the moment. They had to follow the street and search for a store that dealt in jade. Their luck was good, and they soon found one. They could tell from the glass walls that the store wasn’t small.

A graceful and attractive female clerk with a sweet smile on her face approached, discreetly assessing these two customers who were anything but ordinary based on their aura. She had a hunch that she was going to be lucky today.

“Welcome. What can I help you gentlemen with?”

“We have a piece of jade to sell. Would you be interested?” Yan Ge inquired.

The female clerk felt puzzled, could these two be fallen nobles? But she didn’t show it on her face, maintaining her polite demeanor. “We do purchase items. Please wait a moment; I’ll bring our appraiser over.”

The piece of jade Yan Ge presented wasn’t ordinary, and the appraiser recognized its value. They offered 5 million as a price.

The price could have been negotiated higher, but Yan Ge wasn’t particularly concerned about material possessions now. He nodded readily. Since they didn’t have identification or a bank card, the manager gave them 200,000 in cash, and the rest was transferred to a temporary card which they could withdraw later.

Yan Ge expressed gratitude and generously left a tip for the female clerk from a stack of bills before walking away with Huangfu Yuchen and a bag full of cash.

Both the female clerk and the manager stared, amazed that these two were carrying so much cash without fear of being robbed.

After leaving the jade shop, Yan Ge pulled out a bill and introduced it to Huangfu Yuchen.

It had to be said that the worries of the female clerk and the manager were somewhat valid. The two of them were being followed by three men and one woman, none of whom were upstanding individuals. The leader was called Brother Ma.

Today, Brother Ma had brought his two underlings to the jade shop to pick out a birthday gift for his girl. Coincidentally, he saw Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen coming to sell jade. At first, Brother Ma didn’t pay much attention, but when he saw Huangfu Yuchen come out of the VIP room carrying a bag filled with something, he immediately guessed they were carrying cash. Brother Ma got excited, signaling the other three with his eyes to follow them.

Brother Ma and his two underlings were confident in their skills. The girl wasn’t someone to be trifled with in a fight either.

The plan was well-made. When they reached a secluded alley, the girl was responsible for grabbing the bag and running away, while the other three were responsible for dealing with Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen.

Unexpectedly, the girl tried to run after grabbing the bag, but she found herself unable to move it, as if it weighed a thousand pounds.

And the other three received a swift kick from Yan Ge before they could even touch his clothes and were unable to get up for a while.

The girl turned pale with fright. She quickly released the bag’s handle, her back against the wall, torn between wanting to flee and fearing to.

Brother Ma immediately realized they had bitten off more than they could chew and nervously stepped back. “What, what do you want?”

Yan Ge secretly extended his hand, preparing to pull out Brother Ma’s belt to tie the four of them together.

Huangfu Yuchen furrowed his brow and held Yan Ge’s hand. “Baby, don’t dirty your hands.”

Unable to find anything else to use as a makeshift restraint, Yan Ge abandoned the idea. “Consider yourselves lucky. Get lost!”

The four people got up and fled.

“Tsk tsk, with skills like these, you might as well participate in a short-distance race and maybe win a championship.” Yan Ge rubbed his chin. “Let’s not bother about them, let’s go.”

Traveling in China required proper identification. Yan Ge took Huangfu Yuchen to the household registration office and used not-so-honorable methods (controlled them) to make the officials issue them identification cards.

Next, they went to buy phones. It was then that Yan Ge found out it was August 2014, just over two years since he had crossed over. They were in Shangshi, which was located in the central part of China. Even if they took the highway, it would still take them eight to nine hours to reach the capital

Since they were already back on Earth, Yan Ge decided to take it easy. He got a few bank cards, bought a laptop, a few sets of clothes, and some miscellaneous items. Carrying their modest luggage, they set off on the journey back to the capital.

Following the principle of letting Huangfu Yuchen experience the new life, they bought high-speed train tickets. The train compartment was spacious and comfortable.

Huangfu Yuchen sat beside Yan Ge, playing with his phone with great interest. He particularly liked the camera function and constantly took pictures of Yan Ge.

Yan Ge watched him with a smile, allowing him to continue.

Seated across from them were two girls who occasionally cast complex glances at Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen. They found the two young men on the other side quite handsome but regretted that good looks were wasted on one of them, looking like he came from some backwater. Otherwise, why would he play the photo-taking game for an hour or two without stopping? The other handsome guy seemed quite indulgent towards him too, changing the battery for his phone once it died.

“Is it fun?” Yan Ge asked Huangfu Yuchen with a smile. He knew they were being watched but didn’t mind.

Huangfu Yuchen nodded, “Teach me how to play this game.” He was referring to a gem-matching game.

“Okay.” Yan Ge leaned closer. “Tap here to transform and change direction like this.”

Huangfu Yuchen took it a step further and pulled Yan Ge into his arms, letting him rest against his chest.

The intimate posture excited the two girls across from them. They exchanged glances, stealing occasional glances at Yan Ge and Huangfu Yuchen. Their eyes were full of excitement, although they weren’t exactly sure what they were excited about.

“First play some rounds, show me how it’s done.” Huangfu Yuchen requested.

With his breath tickling his ear, Yan Ge leaned closer to his chest and rubbed against it. “Okay, watch.”

Yan Ge hadn’t played games for a long time. Soon, he became engrossed. When he reached the third level, he failed twice in a row. His competitiveness was ignited, so he shifted his position in Huangfu Yuchen’s embrace and continued to fight.

A faint smile curved at the corners of Huangfu Yuchen’s lips. He could tell that Yan Ge was somewhat unsettled, perhaps due to the unfamiliar environment. Thus, he used this method to distract his attention, and it seemed to be working quite well.

“Ah, I lost again.” Yan Ge turned his head in speechlessness.

Huangfu Yuchen’s palm cradled his head, and he planted a kiss on his forehead. “Let me try.”

A middle-aged man diagonally across from them stared at them, his face displaying a mix of disdain and contempt.

Huangfu Yuchen casually looked up and locked his icy gaze onto the man.

The middle-aged man was taken aback, feeling as if he was enveloped in a cold breeze. His hands and feet turned cold, and he quickly averted his gaze.

The two girls across from them grew even more excited. One leaned in toward the other’s ear and whispered in a hushed voice, “Such a domineering gong!”

The other girl nodded repeatedly.

The corner of Yan Ge’s mouth twitched.

Huangfu Yuchen’s gaze returned to the phone screen, his fingers tapping swiftly.

“Congratulations, you’ve cleared the level!”
