Ning Zhi walked to a corner with nobody there, avoided the surveillance camera, and returned to her invisible state.
She was just about to go look for Lu Jue when she ran into him around the corner.
“Young Master, you need to have your wound cleaned.” The bodyguard repeated himself a few times but Lu Jue did not respond to him at all. He stood there quietly as though he was waiting for someone.
The bodyguard knew that he was waiting for that young girl.
Ning Zhi walked over to him, “Lu Jue.”
She picked up his hand and Lu Jue’s long fingers were slightly chill to the touch.
Ning Zhi knew that he was waiting for her. “Let’s go. I’ll go inside with you.”
Lu Jue nodded.
The bodyguard thought that he had finally gotten through the Lu Jue and he quickly said, “Let’s go inside then, Young Master.”
Lu Jue didn’t even look over at him. He docilely let Ning Zhi held his hand.
With Ning Zhi there, Lu Jue was relatively cooperative. The nurse was able to disinfect his wound and applied the dressing. As the wound was not very deep, he would not need any stitches.
The bodyguard stood to on side and was surprised by how cooperative Lu Jue was today.
Ning Zhi’s heart ached when she looked at Lu Jue’s wound. This time, he was injured because of her.
What Ning Zhi didn’t know was, on the other side, Professor Yuan was still drunk after he had taken off and, with Ning Zhi’s provocation, he had accidentally hit the gas pedal thinking that it was the brake and ran head on into a large truck.
Coming out of the hospital, Ning Zhi and Lu Jue ran into traffic on their way back.
“Young Master Lu Jue, there had been an accident up front. We will need to take a detour,” said the bodyguard.
Ning Zhi looked outside of the window and immediately saw Professor Yuan’s car. It had smashed into a big rig and its hood was completely crushed.
The scene was chaotic.
The paramedics had just arrived and seemed to be working on Professor Yuan from his car. They saw Professor Yuan’s head covered in blood when he was got retrieved from the car. It was difficult to tell whether he had lost consciousness or that he was already dead.
The paramedics had just arrived and was applying CPR on Professor Yuan. They saw him covered in blood when he was extracted from his car but they couldn’t tell whether he had just passed out or if he was already dead.
The other person looked like he was the truck driver. He had one hand over his head and was talking very emotionally.
Ning Zhi looked away. She had saved Fang Yuzhou. As for Professor Yuan, he wouldn’t listen to her and insisted on driving drunk. Whatever that had happened to him, he deserved it.
Mother Lu came running up to them when Ning Zhi and Lu Jue arrived home. Mother Lu had already heard from the bodyguard and was about to head to the hospital to see her son but her son had already returned home.
She confirmed multiple times with the bodyguard that Lu Jue had only suffered minor injuries and there was nothing serious before she let out a sigh of relief.
Mother Lu asked the bodyguard a few more questions while Lu Jue had already went upstairs with Lu Jue in his hand.
Ning Zhi noticed that the décor of his room was exactly the same as it was in the future. She had almost forgotten the time difference when she was there.
The current Lu Jue was very similar to the Lu Jue in the future. Both of them had very chiseled features and handsome looks. He was looking at her quietly with his pitch-black eyes.
“Dirty.” Lu Jue mumbled with his head lowered.
Ning Zhi had just noticed that there was some ashes on the back of Lu Jue’s hand. She had no idea when it had gotten there and it looked a little bit dirty.
She took his hand and led him into the bathroom to wash it off.
