Watching the scene unfolded in front of her, Ning Zhi realized that she had went back to the day where Lu Jue witnessed Song Dahai crippled little Song Song.
Song Dahai had drunk as usual and he saw little Song Song accidentally broke a plate. He was so angry that he grabbed Song Song by his collar to throw him out.
“Not only do you eat and not work, you even broke my plates and bowls.” Song Dahai dragged little Song Song over to the trash bin and forcefully shoved him aside.
Little Song Song’s petite body crashed onto the trash bins that was overflowing with garbage.
“Ever since your arrival, I had been fired from my work and everywhere I turned, misfortunes followed me. I even did poorly over my mahjong tables.” Song Dahai pointed at little Song Song with the rod in his hand. Drunk, he shouted at him angrily, “You are just a s**t magnet. Even your mom didn’t want to be around you and left you with me.”
Bringing up his wife who had disappeared to nowhere made him even angrier. His teeth was gritted and, the more he looked at little Song Song, the angrier he became.
Song Dahai raised the rod toward little Song Song and it looked like he was about to struck him with it.
Ning Zhi’s eyes darkened. She spent 10 little suns in exchange for 10 minutes’ time to materialize.
She rushed up, pulled little Song Song into her arms, and dodged the rod before he landed.
Missing his target, Song Dahai stumbled a few steps to steady himself before he turned and saw little Song Song standing to one said, “You dare to dodge, you little brat?”
Little Song Song’s dark eyes were blank. He felt that he was enveloped in warmth.
Ning Zhi had pulled little Song Song to one side.
Seeing that Song Dahai had raised the rod again angrily, she walked up with a cold look and ripped the rod out of his hand while he was unprepared.
Tis was the afternoon in the dead of summer. It was hot and the sun was beating down on everyone. Even just moving around could make one drench in one’s own sweat. Most people would stay home with their air-conditioner running in weather like this. As such, there weren’t very many people around them.
Song Dahai was taken aback. He was baffled by the rod being taken away from him.
He wanted to shout at whoever that had taken the rod away from him when he turned and saw the rod hovering in midair.
Song Dahai rubbed his eyes hard but the rod was still hovering in midair. Pointing at the rod, he giggled, “My rod is floating in the air?”
“What is going on?” Stumbling, Song Dahai laughed at the rod foolishly.
The very next second, he saw the rod lifted high up into the air before it swung at him violently.
“Oh!”
The rod struck him on his stomach and Song Dahai doubled up in pain.
With the rod in her hand, Ning Zhi recalled what the bodyguard had told her. That Song Dahai had beaten little Song Song up, broke his leg, and did not get him any treatment.
She had seen little Song Song limping on his foot. He was just a 5-year-old child and was crippled from Song Dahai’s abuse.
Ning Zhi looked very cold and she swung the rod at Song Dahai again.
“OW OW OW,” cried Song Dahai.
Thinking about how angry and upset Lu Jue must have been when he witnessed little Song Song, whom he had saved, had his leg broken, Ning Zhi swung the rod at Song Dahai again.

“OW OW OW. That hurt! That really hurt!” Song Dahai protected his head reflexively as he curled up on the ground. “Stop hitting me! Stop! Somebody help!”
