Ning Zhi took her hand back. “Have you seen a doctor?”
Lu Jue shook his head, “Want see Zhizhi.”
Ning Zhi stared at him. “You need to see a doctor.”
Lu Jue did not respond.
Ning Zhi made a call and had their family doctor come over.
Lu Jue was running a fever from having a heat stroke from his prolonged exposure in the sun yesterday. The sun was strong in mid summer and being outside for a long time without having any water could lead to heat stroke easily.
The doctor took off after prescribing them some medications. Ning Zhi planned to have Lu Jue took his medicines then go home to rest. Nevertheless, Lu Jue did not want to leave at all.
Ning Zhi had no choice but to have a guest bedroom prepared for him so he could rest.
Inside the room.
Lu Jue took his pills docilely. His face was red from the fever and his eyes pitch-black, moist and bright. Seeing that Ning Zhi was about to leave, he quickly grabbed onto her clothes. “Zhizhi no go.”
“You need to rest.”
Lu Jue shook his head. “No sleep. Look at Zhizhi.”
Ning Zhi didn’t know what to make of that. “Hurry up and sleep. I’ll take off after you have fallen asleep.”
Ning Zhi blinked. Zhizhi would not leave as long as he didn’t sleep.
He laid flat on the bed and Ning Zhi pulled over the think blanket to put over him. “You will recover faster if you sweat it out.”
Lu Jue’s handsome face that was red from fever poked out from under the blanket. He looked at Ning Zhi sitting next to him with his eyes wide open as though he could never see enough of her.
“Stop looking at me and get some sleep!”
Lu Jue reached his hand out from under the blanket and stealthily reached over to Ning Zhi.
He touched her hand slightly. First it was just one finger, then a second. Slowly, he was holding onto her entire hand.
After he was holding her hand, his deep voice was hoarse and coquettish, “Don’t want sleep.”
Ning Zhi rejected him. “Go home if you are not going to sleep.”
Lu Jue’s beautiful cherry-blossom eyes was watery and bright. His handsome face red from his fever and he had a kind of sickly beauty.
He looked pitifully at Ning Zhi. “Want to sleep with Zhizhi.”
Ning Zhi blushed and she couldn't help but stared at him. She pinched him on his cheek with her other hand. “You are already sick. What is going through that mind of yours?”
Lu Jue was an honest one. “Think about Zhizhi.”
Zhizhi was everything that was on his mind.
Ning Zhi felt that her heart had been poked by a finger and it started to flutter.
Lu Jue’s eyes were clean and burning. Ning Zhi’s face got hotter under his stare.
She couldn't help but covered Lu Jue’s eyes with her hand. “Close your eyes. Sleep.”
Lu Jue blinked and his long and straight eyelashes tickled Ning Zhi’s palm like two fans. “Zhizhi bad.”
She wouldn’t let him lookat her.
Lu Jue reached out and grabbed Ning Zhi’s hand that was placed over his eyes. Under Ning Zhi’s surprised look, he brought her little hand over to his lips and kissed it gently.
“Lu Jue.”
Lu Jue did not let go. In fact, he took things a step further.
He straightened her fingers and kissed them one by one.
Ning Zhi’s hand was very pretty. It was fair and soft and the tips of them had a pink glow. They were delicate and pretty. Lu Jue focused his gaze on the tips of her fingers.
Lu Jue’s thin lips were soft, warm, and moist. Ning Zhi felt her fingers tingled.
When he was done kissing her fingers, Lu Jue placed Ning Zhi’s hand over his cheek. He nuzzled her palm with his warm cheek as he looked at her with his moist and bright eyes. “Zhizhi, Zhizhi……”
He was like a puppy begging for attention from its master.
