Smiling, Xue Jinxu took her guest's hand as she led him inside the Chen dream house.
"Just visiting. Checking on you. I heard Chen Linyun is sick all the time." Xue Minhe retorted as he found a place to sit on the couch. Xue Jinxu seated herself, too, after ordering the maid to get refreshments and snacks for the Xue Young Master.
"That's sweet of you." The Chen madame grinned widely at her brother's response.
"So, I've heard that your husband has got morning sickness instead of you."
"Yeah… It's really bad." Face scrunched in anxiety, she sighed as she massaged her growing tummy.
"I've heard some folk stories from the province that it happens sometimes – the husband shares with the wife's discomfort. I'm lucky I'm not experiencing any."
"Yeah…" Perplexingly, Xue Jinxu studied with such an intense gaze her brother's calm demeanor and his clear, blank face. "I wonder why…" She implied, full of deep-rooted meaning.
Xue Minhe's brows twitched, perfectly catching what she meant. He did not respond, though.
The Chen Madame sensed unintended tension with her brother even though he did not say anything. "Have some biscuits. Chen Linyun is sleeping upstairs. Would you like to go see him now? I won't wake him up, though."
"No, let him rest. Let's just chat and catch up. How are you?" He pointed at her growing belly.
Xue Jinxu grinned warmly as she caressed it even more. "I'm looking forward to meeting them. I can't believe I'm having twins, too, brother. Perhaps it's genetic or something."
"Are you feeling any discomfort?"
"Sometimes my hips feel like they're ripping. I have back pains, too. But, it's nothing that I cannot tolerate." She smiled affectionately. She has not given birth yet, but the motherly love was already overflowing from her persona. Her smile was of the sunshine that gives life to the plants and illuminates the already lovely nature outside.
"I have not seen you act this way before, Jinxu. You're incredibly stunning. The pregnancy is making you shine." Xue Mineh openly relayed his apparent observations.
Xue Jinxu touched her face, both embarrassed and touched. "Oh, stop flattering me, brother." Then, she giggled.
"I'm just letting you know how you look. Or at the very least how I perceive you at this very moment." He explained, as his response to her statement. He didn't want her to think that he's just trying to lift her spirits.
"How are Mother and Father after Guangxi's departure?"
"Their feedback is mixed, but I think all of us understand that this setup would benefit Guangxi in the long run. I personally would prefer him to stay here and confront his issues head-on. It's just me." He shrugged.
"Yeah, it will help him in the long run. The independence will make him lonely but it will instill the sense of responsibility that he still lacks."
They sat broodingly together, thinking of the other sibling who went away for the time being.
"Anyway, I've had some more agenda for coming here today."

"First on my list, I would like to propose for Xue Shipping to spin out of Chen Holdings. The company's getting more stable. I believe it can stand on its own without Chen Holding's backup."

"I prepared some financial statements, forecasts, mitigation plans, business contingency plans, feasibility study. Those will help you both in your discussion. I hope we have the same conclusion."

"Like I said, pretty stable."
Xue Jinxu sighed. "I feel bad that I can't lend you a hand right now. I haven't been able to give you a full-blown turnover. "Mother would like to hold a single baby shower for you and Xiao Rui."
