It was a sultry night.

Academy City was located in western Tokyo, so it was enveloped in inland heat even at night. And this was an ecological city that primarily used wind power, so the heat island effect was impressive.

District 17 was an unmanned factory district, and its uniquely stunning nightscape had garnered some minor attention on factory tour sites and similar platforms.

The silence enveloped the factory, the only sounds that could be heard were the gentle patter of raindrops and the whispering wind, But...

"Huff... Huff... Huff... What kind of monster is that?"

On this particular night, the tranquility of District 17 was shattered by the sound of heavy, labored breathing. A man wearing what appeared to be Anti-Skill special SWAT armor clutched his bleeding arm, seeking refuge behind one of the containers that were stacked in rows throughout the area.

His eyes darted back and forth, taking quick glances from the sides of the containers as if he were ensuring that no one was approaching.

"What's the matter? I can't reach the other teams. What happened?"

A voice called from his earpiece, capturing his attention.

Reaching for the earpiece with a trembling hand, he responded, "S-Sir, we were under attack. All teams, A, B, C, D, and E have been wiped out. I am the sole survivor from Team E, S-Sir."

"Hmm... Who was the attacker? Was it a team hired from the dark side?"

"I-I don't know, sir. They don't match the specifications of any team we know from the dark side. There were three of them, and all of them exhibited abnormal abilities."

"What kind of abilities?"

"The--AGHHHHhh"

The line abruptly cut off after a chilling scream, leaving the person on the other end of the line to listen to the silence, interrupted only by the beep of the disconnected call.

"OW Maaaaaaaaaaan, not again~"

The figure slumped back into his chair, surrounded by numerous screens in the dimly lit room. A young man in his late teens with golden hair and a lollipop in his mouth.

"So, we lost our branch in District 17. dachshund (Hishigata), what's the meaning of this?" a voice emanated from one of the screens.

"We can understand why your men failed to retrieve that girl due to Accelerator's intervention, and we can overlook your failure in restoring the Dark May project's girl due to Kakine Teitoku's interference, but to fail at safeguarding the experimental samples against nameless teams from the dark side... are your men truly worthy?"

Hishigata smirked, twirling the lollipop between his fingers.

"Now, now, let's not jump to conclusions, shall we? It's not like we anticipated these random teams from the dark side. They were an unexpected variable. We will find out who they are and deal with them accordingly."

"I hope you're not underestimating the situation, dachshund. This is not the time for mistakes or excuses."

"Rest assured, That's My job now after all."

As the screens went blank, Hishigata leaned back in his chair, "A Nameless team Huh..."

Part 2:

"You really didn't give them any chance, did you?"

Motoharu commented as he approached the scene holding an umbrella over his head. He could see the lifeless body of the man they were chasing, a large hole in his chest.

Beside the body stood Misaka, her hand dripping with blood, her entire body soaked from the rain.

"Misaka showed mercy. The only reason Misaka didn't torture them before finishing them off is because there was a slight chance they were under some kind of hypnotism. Did you see what we found inside the factory? asks Misaka."

"Yeah..."

His mind flashed back to a few minutes earlier. They had received a request to take down a crime organization that had set up its base in a factory at District 17.

accepting the mission they went their ways to fulfill it expecting it to be some kind of drug smuggling organization or something similar.

However, when they Sneak inside the factory, they encountered a nightmare, unlike anything they had ever seen before. Motoharu was all too familiar with the dark side of the academy, but even he was taken aback by what they discovered.

What they found was a massive laboratory. As they moved further into the facility, they could see rows of large cages, typically used to hold animals. However, there were no animals in sight. Instead, the cages were occupied by several children, the oldest of whom appeared to be around 15 years old. These children were visibly marked by deformities and had multiple injection marks on their bodies.

After that, everything happened in a blur.

Misaka swiftly killed everyone involved in the incident. They tried to resist, but their efforts were futile.

No matter what weapon they tried to use, it was ineffective against her. Either it failed to penetrate her skin, or if it did, the wounds would heal instantly.

Motoharu and Aisa could only stand by and watch, though there were a few instances where the attackers attempted to strike both of them, but they would deal with them easily.

It also allows him to witness the fighting prowess of the vampire killer.

And he had to admit, Asia's style of fighting is really scary, especially with her newfound magic. Or was it an esper ability?

Shaking his head, he brought his mind back to the present and let out a sigh.

"Well, at least we've finished here. How about we head back and take some rest, along with a good shower?"

He offered his umbrella, protecting her from the rain.

"Yeah..."

Quickly shifting her gaze behind Motoharu, she spotted Aisa with the children they had just saved.

On Aisa's back was a six-year-old girl, with the right half of her head bald and several bruises on her body. She was unconscious.

Surrounding them were seven other children, consisting of four boys aged 11, 15, 7, and 7, as well as three girls aged 10, 8, and 14.

Their clothes were torn and covered in dirt, bearing the marks of their ordeal. They also had deformities and swellings.

Aisa was kneeling doing her best to comfort and care for them. Though she may not have been skilled at it, the children seemed to feel safe and loved in her presence.

Misaka approached Aisa and the children. She knelt down beside them, her wet clothes sticking to her body.

"Are they okay..."

Aisa nodded, "They're stable for now. We need to get them to a safe place and provide proper medical attention as soon as possible."

Misaka gently brushed a strand of wet hair away from the unconscious girl's face. "Misaka knows the perfect doctor for them. Despite having a face like a frog, he is highly skilled and trustworthy, informs misaka"

"W-Will we be safe?" one of the children, an 8-year-old girl, timidly asked.

"You are safe now...."

Part 3:

2 October, 11:23 PM

Drops of rain splattered against the large window, creating a mesmerizing pattern that blurred the lights of the city beyond.

Misaka sat on the sofa, with her legs propped up on the table, her attention focused on the documents Aisa had collected before they reduced the entire factory to ruins.

"Good job, Aisa..."

"No problem," Aisa replied, taking a sip of her hot coffee. She sat on the opposite sofa, maintaining a more respectful posture than Misaka.

"Hmm~hmmm"

Meanwhile, Motoharu was in the kitchen, humming a tune as he prepared something.

Misaka reached for her jaw with her right hand as she leaned back on the sofa, her left hand holding the documents.

(DA, a rogue group within Anti-Skill that is obsessed with bringing justice to Academy City... No wonder they had their equipment... DA Arouse... I see...)

Misaka began flipping through the pages, hoping to find some valuable information, but there was nothing substantial. The remaining documents were just previous mission reports, and as she read through the first report, she couldn't help but feel disgusted by the actions described.

Just as she was about to set the documents aside, a particular sentence caught her attention.

(The Academy City Board of Directors, huh...)

"And here is My masterpiece!!"

Misaka's thoughts were interrupted by Motoharu's cheerful voice as he entered the living room, carrying a steaming hot pot of sukiyaki. He set the pot down on the table.

"Hey, move your legs. We eat at this table,"

Misaka closed the documents and placed them on the table, as she withdrew her legs.

"Oh, by the way, how much did they pay you? Did you receive the full payment? asks Mikasa wondering if they got scammed in their first mission"

"Yup, wait a minute..."

After a few moments, he returned with a bag that seemed to be full of something.

He gripped the zipper of the bag and opened it.

A glimmer caught Misaka's eye. She leaned in closer to get a better look and saw stacks of money neatly arranged inside the bag.

"4,555,000 Yen (33,000$), as promised. Not bad for our first mission, don't you think?"

"Hmm, it's a cheap price for a mission that could potentially risk our lives. But it was our mistake for not looking closer at the mission details, confirms Misaka"

"I'm still not sure why the higher-ups of the academy would approach us, a nameless team, for a task like this. They don't even know our capabilities, do they?" Aisa interjected, taking another sip of her coffee.

"Well, that was me. I offered our services to them,"

"And they just agreed like that? asks Misaka"

"What can I say, I'm just built different," Motoharu chuckled.

"..."

"..."

"Oh, by the way, we need to create a special bank account for receiving our rewards. A regular bank account wouldn't be suitable as they would inquire about the source of the funds. So, when you're ready to create one, let me know and I'll accompany you," Motoharu explained.

"Understood, answers Misaka"

"In addition, we also received a significant amount of points,"

"Points?..."

"Yup, points. They are used in the dark side as a way to rank the available teams. We received 150 points, but we'll need a lot more to reach the top. To enter the ranked F team, we need 1200 points. The highest-ranked are the S-ranked team, but it will take a considerable amount of time and effort to reach that level,"

"Who are the current S-ranked teams? Asks Misaka"

"Currently, there are only three teams in the S rank. thought One team lost its rank, and I'm referring to the STUDY group. The two remaining teams are ITEM, led by the ranked 4 level 5 esper of the city, Mugino Shizuri, with a total of 73,500 points. The second team is SCHOOL, led by the ranked 2 level 5 esper, Kakine Teitoku, with 75,350 points, there are also groups like MEMBER and BLOCK that are close to reaching the S rank"

"...Well, we've only just begun, so let's give it our best,"

"Yub"

"Okay"

They sat in comfortable silence, enjoying their dinner as the sound of rain outside provided a soothing background melody.

Part 4:

The clock struck 2:00 AM, and the rain had finally ceased.

The night sky was filled with clouds, blocking the moon and stars from view. A thick fog blanketed the surroundings, giving an eerie and mysterious atmosphere to the scene.

The city was hushed, with only the faint sounds of her footsteps breaking the silence. Misaka found herself walking alone through the city streets.

The streetlights struggled to pierce through the dense fog, casting a dim, diffused glow on the misty air. The buildings stood like shadowy figures in the distance, their outlines blurred and indistinct.

Taking a turn in a narrow hallway, she came to a sudden stop as a figure stood in the opposite direction.

The figure bore a striking resemblance to Misaka #10000 but with short brown hair instead of the long white one.

"So, what do you need Misaka #10000 for? Asks Misaka puzzled as to why her sister required her presence at such an hour."

"...Misaka #10046 has been kidnapped, revealed Miska#10032 as she rejects sharing this information with the Last order"

(So that's why she wants to inform me in person and not through the network.)

Lifting her gaze to the cloudy sky, an anthropomorphic projection of the earth materialized before her. It was merely a hologram conjured by her imagination, And no one would be able to see it except her.

There were several glowing points scattered across the anthropomorphic projection, with approximately 133 points illuminating Japan.

Focusing her gaze on the location of Academy City, she observed around 30 glowing points. Two of them were in District 15, indicating their presence.

Within District 7, there were 27 glowing points concentrated in a specific hospital. Last Order was among them.

This left one remaining point, which was suspiciously located in School District 11. The glow emitted from that point was faint, suggesting that whoever Misaka was connected to this particular point was unconscious but still linked to the network.

"It will take Misaka 5 minutes to reach the location. Misaka will handle the task at hand, declares Misaka #10032, preparing herself for the mission."

"M-Misaka is..."

The girl hesitated, her voice trailing off.

"...?"

"Misaka did ask Accelerator for help. You might encounter him there, informs Misaka, apprehensive of her sister's potential scolding."

"..."

Misaka #10000 maintained her gaze on her sister for a brief moment before letting out a sigh.

"Can't be helped, from Last order memories, he became less...annoying..."

murmured, a crackling of electricity surrounding her.

Part 5:

Inside the Anti-Skill station, chaos reigned as news spread of an explosion in Sector 3's warehouse district.

In the ruins of that place, girls unperturbed by the destruction stand about. One of them with wearing cufflinks and carrying an umbrella, her name was Sakuragi Naruha.

"Well, I guess we're finished earning that money" she announced

"Did you actually count the bodies?" A second girl, her face concealed behind a flu mask said, her name was Iizumi Rita aka the leader of the scavenging team.

"EH!? isn't the job normally over if the place has been destroyed this thoroughly?" Sakuragi protested

"Also this wasn't the only target location, there's for everyone. did you see someone carrying a bag big enough to fit a girl inside?"

A boy that is very convincing in appearing as a girl. Seike Taroumaru added.

Engaging in banter, Rita and the Sakuragi exchanged remarks, contemplating their next move.

Amidst their discussion, a girl with a hat and gloves, Yakumaru Itsuki, interjected.

"We were hired to eliminate the organization known as DA. If we let them escape, not only will we receive no payment, but we'll also be in breach of our contract."

"So, what should we do then?" Sakuragi asked.

Confidently, the flu mask girl declared, "No need to worry. No ordinary human can escape my predator-like abilities."

With a knowing look exchanged among the group, they watched as their comrade tapped into her mysterious power. As if the sky were adorned with countless watchful eyes, she swiftly located their intended target.

"Hmm?"

Shortly after she turned around, her gaze became fixed on a certain spot in the distance.

Noticing their leader's sudden shift in focus, they followed her line of sight.

Perched upon one of the supporting concrete columns, they spotted someone observing them. It was a girl dressed in Tokiwadai's uniform, with a Gekota pin adorning her blazer. Her long white hair cascaded down her back.

"Hey, am I seeing things or is she one of the sisters?" Rita questioned.

"And what's with her hair? Did they make a mistake during her creation?" Seike added.

Captain Sakuragi pondered for a moment before responding, "Well, let's just capture her. We have nothing to lose."
