"I always think that, even if I wasn't there to save you, you'd still able to recover from everything and stand back on your own two feet." He told him. "Or that... even if it's not me, anybody could be there to help you." He said and hugged him tight, afraid Jiang Cheng might be gone again.

After all, it was him who fell first to the other, and confessed first to the other.

"Lan Xichen..." Jiang Cheng muttered his name under his breath and smiled, which made Lan Xichen's heart skipped a beat. (A/N: oh damn damn oh. The Two Jades of Lans are deeply and madly in love with their wife! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3)

Jiang Cheng felt his chest welled up because of the warmth that's enveloping him. "It's because it's you... that's why I could stand." He told Lan Xichen.

"... huh?" Lan Xichen said and looked at him.

Jiang Cheng smiled and turned to him. Lan Xichen's eyes went wide as he stared at his face.

"It's because you are the one... who picked me up." Jiang Cheng said. "The gentle and kind ZeWu-Jun..." he said and caressed his cheek.

Lan Xichen's face flushed when he heard Jiang Cheng called him like he always did in the past – 'ZeWu-Jun'.

Jiang Cheng, saw this, can't help but laugh. "Do you know why it should be you?" he asked. "Why it should be you, not anybody else, to pick me up and make me stand again?" he said and looked at Lan Xichen's deep but warm eyes.

"Why?" Lan Xichen asked, his voice almost hoarse because of the emotions bubbling up inside him.

Jiang Cheng's eyes became misty, staring at his husband's face. Yes. 'husband'.

"It's because of your smile." He answered.

"My smile?" Lan Xichen asked.

He nodded and smiled. "Yes." He answered. "It's because – " he said and whispered on his ear.

Lan Xichen's face went red up to the roots of his hair when he heard his wife's answer. "Wanyin, you - !" he said and covered his flushed face, can't take the (cute) attack of his wife.

So unfair! He thought. But... he smiled. He loves this kind of unfairness, especially from his wife.

"When you smiled at me, my heart skipped a beat." He told him, obviously referring to the first time they met on the bridge when they were studying in GusuLan.

His face went redder as he remembered that time, too. I'd never admit... that the time when I first saw him smiled...

"And you are...?" he asked as he looked at his younger brother's classmates.

The youth in the middle, whose hair tied in a bun using purple ribbon, clasped his hands and respectfully bowed. "Jiang Wanyin of Yunmeng." He answered and stood straight, his cheeks flushed – either of embarrassment or of the heat, he doesn't know. He smiled unconsciously.

"Wei Wuxian of Yunmeng – " the youth on the side said.

But, he ignored him. He stared at the one who looked bashful, his gaze deliberately not meeting his. He doesn't know but something tickled his heart and a teasing smile appeared on his face.

The moment the bashful youth's head raised and their gazes finally met, a group of words flashed in his (LXC) mind as his smile went wider.

'I'm so glad to meet you – ' should be the words he'd say.

He never met someone that could take his breath away.

That smile of his... he thought as he glanced at Jiang Cheng whose back leaning on his chest, looking content.

He smiled as he leaned down and kissed his temple. I'm so glad I could see that breathtaking smile of his... he thought as he hugged him.

Everyday.
