"What happened, Ryuu-kun? You seemed to be in a daze the whole time?"
It was around lunch break when all four gathered on the rooftop of the academy as always to have lunch together. Aoi and Hana bring their lunch but Sayaka just buys buns from the bakery inside the Academy and brings one for Ryuuta as well like today.
Aoi and Hana also share their lunches with the boy as they always eat together during the day on the rooftop where no one generally comes, given the fact that Academy had such varieties present on their campus that most if not everyone like to eat there.
Ryuuta along with the three girls do not like the crowd much and since the girls want to always be with their man, they chose to be in their personal space on the rooftop.
Hearing Sayaka's query the other two also perked their ears and looked at Ryuuta with curiosity since he indeed seemed to be not paying much attention in class today.
Ryuuta was a little startled to sense how perceptive Sayaka was when it comes to him but then again, being friends for this long would allow them to have ways to know his way of thinking.
Finding no way to escape the brown-haired boy sighed before answering them truthfully.
"The new professor... Kei...seemed to be a little suspicious, no?"
Ryuuta frowned when he spoke that name which might not be too unique but it was not sitting around that someone with the same name was giving the same vibe and way of talking like the person Ryuuta consider his best friend.
Aoi also had the same expression but because of the fact that the new professor gave not a single essence of his presence despite the girl having such a high degree of observation. Hana had a confused stance on this whereas the blondie was chewing on her bun while jumbling her gaze between all the other three.
"Indeed. I may be reading too much into it, but for some reason, I think his having zero presence and mana whatsoever gives an eerie premonition. Not to talk about that peculiar way of teaching where he never went over the book and detailed everything like he was some kind of prodigy."
Aoi hmphed a bit since during class when she raised her hand to correct professor Kei upon something she thought was wrong, he gave her an explanation of such theory in a way that was not mentioned in the book.
Though she agrees that she was able to learn a lot, it was not really a good sensation of being corrected by the teacher and feel like standing out by being overconfident.
"Bitching about your teacher now, are we?"
The eyes of all four teenagers contracted like a needle as their minds raced with a thousand horsepower within a moment before they simultaneously jumped on their feet, and summoned their weapons before facing the source of the voice.
Sword, axes, daggers, and scythe glimmered brightly under the bright sunlight as the four youngsters got their fighting stance and were prepared to deal with the person who was able to sneak past them without leaving a single presence behind.
From the words this new appearance spoke out, Aoi already had guessed it but seeing with their own eyes they had no problem identifying the intruder as the person they were just now talking about.
The formal black and black uniform was worn over a tall and lean build. Complimented with red blood shade eyes and raven hair, the man looked devilishly handsome but none of it mattered right now.
"Professor? Can I dare ask why you tried to startle us in this way which could have made us attack you?"
It was Aoi who raised her voice which was tainted with a bit of annoyance because of the fact that someone came to interfere in their personal space and also did it so sneakily. Maybe it was her early frustration as well which made her tone sound more crispy?
The others didn't speak but they had the same reaction and query ringing in their mind as they kept their focus on the professor and weapon still high held to face any unexpected assault.
Being glared at by the four teenagers, the other party sighed before his form began to deteriorate startling the others as his voice which shifted to a lighter one, replied in a much calm manner.
"Well, I was trying to make the reunion a bit dramatic."
Everyone lowered their weapons when they finally realized who this person transformed into and what his words meant related to the reunion. It was a fact that they were familiar and had seen him a lot back when everything was normal, constructed over the new professor's face, and his height was reduced a few inches as well.
As Ryuuta doubted, it indeed was Kei they all knew of.
All three girls anticipated that Ryuuta would lower his weapon and hug his dear friend whom he was concerned about all those days when the world was falling into mayhem.
If anyone, then it was Kei who made all three girls jealous the most considering how Ryuuta always has been worried for his friend but in a way it was admirable as well to think how great their friendship is.
Kei just stood there awkwardly, thinking how he should approach Ryuuta as the three girls also waited for how their man would react to this sudden appearance of his best friend.
But against their expectation, Ryuuta did nothing of it and while clutching his sword in a tight grip and with a chilly aura surrounding his demeanor, he announced something which was least suited for a reunion.
"You are a dead man..."
