"Okay so, you found her then right?"

"Yup."

"Then you took her in?"

"Yup."

"And this is like several days after meeting her and now you're keeping her?"

"I guess that's one word to use, but yea. More or less."

Both of them glanced over to watch KuliKuli as she pounced on an orange that rolled away, preventing it from falling off the table. Smiling, she then proceeded to nom on it with little success of penetrating the skin of the fruit. Felix smiled while Janette placed her hands on her hips, blowing some of her brunette hair off of her eyes.

"Well, I sort of see what you're doing and I need to tell you, it won't be easy."

He nodded. "I know. I know I might get in deep trouble if we're caught, but I can't just let her go. She has memory problems, and I'm worried that she won't be able to handle herself."

"Pray tell. Is that really what worries you?"

"Yea, why?"

She shook her head, keeping her thoughts to herself and leaving him confused.

"Nothing, forget about it. You know, I could just report you two about this and get a decent reward. Would help me a lot come to think of it."

Felix held his breath, had he been caught trusting the wrong person?

"That's something you should be wearh of. Today, you were lucky. Your description of the cabin mentioned that it was isolated, aside from farm animals there is no one nearby? That's your safe place where she can be free of concern. But taking her out is a foolish wage not just for your life but for hers."

He nodded and kept quiet, feeling like a child scolded by his mother. She took notice and held back, turning a softer tone in her voice. "You should know how people feel about Monster Girls, how much they fear them."

"You handled it well." He mentioned.

"I'm a peculiar individual," She held her arm and looked away. "Some would label me foolish as well. Foolish, tasteless, a sinner. The others would not take kindly to her presence or be as hospitable as I am now."

Felix leaned back, both of them turning to watch the cat girl scoot forward with her chin pressed onto the dirt as she wiggled her butt left and right before leaping to catch her prey. The orange proved to be a crafty opponent, effortlessly evading her grasp as it rolled underneath a table. She dove right in, bumping her head with a yelp.

The woman sighed and brushed her shoulder-length hair back, setting her eyes back on him. "Alright then Felix, I think it's safe for you to go."

"Oh thank the gods! Thanks haha, I was really worried there."

"You should be, lot of other folk aren't as empathetic. Just to let you know, be more careful next time and maybe don't take her out when she's in heat."

"Oh she wasn't, it was catnip."

"Catnip?" She gave him a puzzled look, to which he shrugged in return.

"I'm still learning too, so don't ask."

"Fair enough. Well, best you two move along then. I can't keep the shop closed forever or I'll start losing my share of tokens."

"Uh right! Thanks again for helping us out, I uh... we appreciate that a lot. KuliKuli, let's go."

"Meow?" KuliKuli looked up, munching on a half chewed orange. Swallowing, she leaped out from the table and continued taking another bite.

"Sorry, I can pay for that."

"Don't bother, it's a gift free of charge." The woman waved at them to start going as she walked back to the curtains of her shop. "Now this is where you two leave."

"Well, thanks for everything miss." Felix helped KuliKuli put her cloak back on before they both walked out. He waved goodbye while Kuli merely stared before shying away and covering her face. The market woman smiled back before opening the shop once more.

"Oh, miss. What is your name if you don't mind me asking?"

She scoffed and pointed upwards, with Felix following up to catch the sign atop the shop.

Janette's Fruits of Labor

Oh.

Well that was embarrassing.

"I see. You have my eternal gratitude. Janette!" He smiled wide and waved goodbye as he and KuliKuli disappeared amongst the crowd.

"Master?" KuliKuli asked, "Where to now?"

"I guess we can finish up getting what we need... but we definitely should steer clear of any catnip from now on."

"Mew?"

"I'll explain later, c'mon."

Felix motioned for KuliKuli to follow as they continued shopping for the day. Lucky for them, not much else happened that would catch any attention (well maybe one thing happened) and soon they were on their way back home. Once they had decided to return, sunlight had slipped away and the thick night air took over as an uneasy fog arose and coated the grass as if to conceal the ground beneath. KuliKuli had begun to shiver and grabbed hold of Felix's arm, who in turn kept her close as they continued down the path. Due to the fog, it was impossible to note of the path Felix usually took back home however he had been down this road enough to know it by heart so it held no obstacle for the young man.

Snap!

KuliKuli's golden eyes scouted the nearby forest trees, nervously awaiting them to be pounced upon by a monster of some sort. Her claws had come forth as her body readied itself for defensive action, with Felix taking note and petting her paw like a mother would her child.

"No need to be afraid Kuli, it's probably just a wolf or some other creature."

"Brrrrr, that's what worries me master. I don't think it's that, or at least not a regular one."

"We'll be fine, we're almost there. Plenty of moonlight for us to go on, so at least we aren't travelling blind."

"Blind?" She asked, puzzled.

"Yea you know, like not being able to see in the dark with your eyes." Felix looked and his eyes met KuliKuli's, taken aback by how beautiful and shiny they are. "Gosh, I forgot you have cat eyes. I guess you don't have to worry about the darkness like us humans huh?"

She nodded, pressing herself closer to him as they continued forward.

"Well if you have better sight then I do, then you should know it's probably no monster that made that noise. Promise you it's just a wolf or perhaps even a squirrel. Just several more paces and we'll be safe in no time."

KuliKuli shook her head, her tails curling around her waist underneath the traveling cloak she wore. Her ears picked up a slight brush noise as something grazed against a few leaves several feet behind them. Her fur trembled as a slight cold chill ran through, she certainly hoped master was right.

"There we go, back home see? Told you it was nothing." Felix smiled, placing the items they purchased and storing it away. KuliKuli nodded and quickly disrobed, throwing her cloak and shirt away and crawling around topless with only her cut shorts. She stretched her arms and laid on her back, playing around with a ball of yarn he had bought for her. Felix merely sat down and observed as she kicked it around before biting it, squeezing it between her rather sharp teeth before pawing at it again. "So, what did you think about the uh 'meerkat' hehe."

She sat up with her legs crossed and beamed brightly at him.

"Oh I loved it master! Thank you thank you thank you for taking me with you!" She wiggled her butt before pouncing onto him, licking his face and sitting on his lap. Felix chuckled, turning away before realizing her toplessness figure.

"Hey, hey!" He began to laugh as he tried resisting her affection. "Kuli, that tickles!"

She giggled and licked his cheek, the sight of him this happy was addicting and she wanted to see it more.

Her ear twitched, she immediately raised her head and turned around to face the front door. She carefully approached it while her master sat up and wiped his face with the back of his sleeve.

"What is it?"

She stayed still, frozen in placed in his eyes as he carefully approached her. Even her tails remained where they were, not a muscle in her body twitched. Growing concerned, he stepped around her and reached in to latch the front door.

"There, all better. Safe, just like Janette said." He swallowed, peaking out the window and seeing nothing but pitch black. Was there movement outside, or was it the wind and the sound of rustling tall grass that filled his mind with paranoia?

He felt his forehead begin to sweat, feeling a need to calm himself. They were back in the cabin, this was their safe place. He made his way to the bedroom, kicking off his leather sabot shoes, their wooden soles causing his feet to ache. He sat on the mattress and leaned forward to notice the cat girl had not moved from her stance.

"KuliKuli, get some sleep. Tomorrow is a long day."

She turned to him before glancing back at the door. After another moment had passed, her tails rose and began to wiggle left and right. He felt much calmer as she crawled to him on all fours, though much to his surprise she leapt onto his lap while in Nekomata form, knocking the wind out of him.

"Oops." She smiled sheepishly while sat on his chest, closing her eyes in while concentrating. As he struggled to catch his breath, he saw her begin to shrink in size. Her fur was beginning to grow through her skin, her face changed shape and the rest of her body began to shrink further and further while she grew lighter and lighter in weight. When she was done, she had returned to her silver cat form. She walked up to his face and gave his nose a gentle lick. He lowered his eyes and patted her head.

This may take some getting use to, he thought to himself as she began to purr.
