"So we are not going to Jay-Jay's?" KuliKuli asked, nibbling on the apple she cradled in her paws and licking the juices off her cheeks.

Felix was pacing around back and forth around the house, not necessarily contemplating but rather in search of a tool he required. He had not disclosed what it was, something which stood out to the young cat girl. It was in her nature to be curious about such things, and tonight she was informed that in two days they would be going on a trip to enjoy something 'spectacular' in his words. Yet, he did not seem so convinced either, and that left her puzzled as to whether she should be excited or not. If her mate wasn't too keen on the trip, how could she? But it was not that which troubled the young man's mind, for the rain had continued for the past three days, interrupting his plans regarding further construction around the old farm and toolshed. He had grown cranky since then, something which Reta didn't help with by her antagonizing him from time to time.

"Keep up the pace and perhaps you could shed a few pounds of fat around your waist." Reta chuckled, taking a sip from her cup of tea. She stirred it around using a stick of cinnamon to add to its herbal properties and provide a sweeter aftertaste. Not to mention it was boiled hot to help alleviate the effects from the cold weather.

Felix looked crossed and walked into the bedroom, closing the door behind him. KuliKuli huffed and threw a pillow at her.

"Why do you have to be so mean, you know he isn't fat."

Reta didn't seem the least bit amused, her eyes fixated on her tea instead as if the Nekomata was not worth her time. "If the boy cannot handle a few words against his soft feelings, then he is undeserving of being called a man. Where does his strength lie if it wavers due to hurt feelings? You would assume a man of his history would be stronger than that."

"What history?" KuliKuli asked genuinely, ears perked up by what she just heard. "He rarely shares about his history."

"Something we all share in common, I believe. And I would respect that if he didn't bother me with prying questions ever so often. Leave me be, I am here now. But if he continues to ask where I have been yesterday, he may not find me here tomorrow."

"You're leaving tomorrow?" KuliKuli gasped, cupping her mouth and dropping her apple. It rolled across the floor into Janette's foot, to which she kicked it into the air and caught it herself. Placing her tea aside, she gently brushed the skin around as if polishing it before taking a bite from it herself.

"Omae wa noutarin ka? I swear, you possess the body of a woman but the mind of an infant. You would not survive in the real world if it were not for him." She mumbled while chewing on her snack.

The Nekomata frowned and leaned forward from her perched stance on her wooden chair. "I may not remember well about myself, but I know I can survive more than you could."

This made the woman snort and scoff in return. "Yes of course, your kind survive due to your ability to transform and disguise yourself as wild cats without the common mammal noticing. But the Kobolds can gather your scent, and the Avian can swoop down and snatch you off the ground before you notice their shadows. We are all one and the same, just simple creatures fighting to survive each day. We show weakness to others and it shows a lack of certainty in their survivability, a predator grows twice as threatening if their prey cowers in their presence."

"And what makes you say that, is it wrong for the prey to run away if it means to survive?"

"Not at all, it's only natural for the weak to persist and hide if they wish to survive. That is the true order of things. Many creatures form their own religions and tribes in search of a meaning behind their light, a method or goal for which to fight for. In my tribe, we worshipped the goddess of war who bestowed her strength on all her loyal soldiers. We were fierce, headstrong, and lethal. Fight for your people, find a good partner, raise your children to grow strong and healthy so that they may protect their kin in return. Loyalty was what binds us, we had a common home and considered our neighbors and friends to be our family. To fail them means to bring shame and disgrace to your family, and you would be required to regain your honor in order to prove that you are worthy to remain."

Reta opened her mouth wide and crunched into the red surface of her apple, munching away at the chewy and juicy texture before swallowing. "Running away from a fight is considered tactical if the predator outmatches you in every way. A snake is helpless against the claws of an eagle. A wolf is cunning and lethal to a dear, and the speed and might of a stallion can outrun the fangs of a wolf. Fight to survive, by many means, but there is honor in defeat. Dying to protect the ones you love, that is considered the highest honor and a proud death. Such souls are rewarded in the afterlife by our goddess, held under her divine protection as examples of what we strive to become."

"Is that all true?" KuliKuli asked with large eyes, her tails swaying behind her.

"I would hope so. The only way to be certain is when our time comes, but what fun is there to believe there is nothing for us when we pass?" She took another bite in silence, disrupted by KuliKuli laughing in approval.

"Well, I can say yes to that! But fighting isn't something we like to do, at least I think so? It's fuzzy sometimes, like when you dream. Not everything is clear and when you try to remember, most of it is gone. Just try to be a little nicer to him, please? He is helping us both and he would not have let you stay if I didn't ask."

Reta looked annoyed at those final words, somewhat resentful of being reminded about her stay. She held onto the apple with a tight grasp in her fingers before exhaling. "If my presence is bothersome, I would be more than capable of living on my own."

"I never said I wanted you to leave!" KuliKuli jumped up in shock, flabbergasted by what she heard. "Geez, the slightest comment and you want to leave already. Do you even like staying here?"

"It has its perks, such as that night." A sly grin crossed her face as she began to reminisce about that wonderous night between the four of them. "He displayed such confidence and aggression, and his display is rather intriguing. Like the body of a well-carved warrior, ripe with history from his many battles."

She shivered and sucked in her breath, closing her eyes as she recalled looking up and seeing his panting face as he took her body for his own, sating their desires for each other. She awoke the next day feeling deliciously sore all around, a wonderful workout routine that trained her muscles well. KuliKuli found her reaction entertaining, laughing cheerily at her expression.

"You're welcome for letting it happen between you two, he wouldn't have dared if it meant without my approval."

"Yes, such as the unspoken approval between you and the market woman." Reta remarked.

KuliKuli's ears perked up once more as she looked offended. "She is a mutual friend and I did talk to him about her. He was fine, far less reluctant compared to you."

Reta shot a fierce glance in return, squeezing her fist as suddenly the fruit in her hand began dripping its juices around her fingers. "How dare you."

"It's only because you are such a meanie to him sometimes, you make it confusing for him to tell if you like him or not." She stuck out her tongue and leaned back in her chair. "Maybe if you try being nicer and softer, he would be more open to your advances."

"You are asking me to submit to him willingly?"

"Not if you say it like that, just let him know you appreciate and want him without making him feel like he is beneath you. It's not hard."

Reta growled under her breath before closing her eyes and breathing in deep, exhaling in an attempt to calm down. She extended her hand over the table and placed the half-eaten apple next to her cup of tea. The cat girl's eyes widened when she noticed the finger marks embedded into the apple deep enough that they nearly reached the stem, actually feeling a bit fearful of her. The fear quickly evaporated when Reta composed herself and brushed her blue hair to the side before looking up at her.

"I've said it before to you in private, I am not interested in taking your mate away. That interest had passed when I discovered he was taken, however a girl still has needs that have yet to be met, a desire to which needs to be fulfilled. Your Felix satisfies that need, but it has been three days and I am left famished. But he has made no advances since then, and it leaves me feeling undesired and unwanted."

"Did you tease him to make it known that you want him too?"

"Me? He should feel proud that he has tasted my body before. Sleeping outside of my kind is uncommon among our people, why should I lower myself if he does not reciprocate or make his intentions clear before?"

KuliKuli hid herself behind her paws, shaking her head and groaning in exhaustion. "So you make fun of him, mock him, and turn your glance away from him but wonder why he isn't interesting in sex? What happened to you teasing him before?"

"That was in an attempt to meet the requirements you asked for, I could not sleep with him unless he accepted my gift and my body. But now that we have had each other, it is like he no longer desires me."

KuliKuli rolled her eyes. "Goodness, I think I may be smarter than you. I don't know these men you talk about but Felix isn't competitive like you. He's not some loud or arrogant manly man warrior, he's just a soft-hearted man working on a lot of things. He's not a fighter."

Reta hissed and sunk into her seat. "Then why is he rather good at sex if he's weak?"

"Strength isn't the same way for everyone, and besides he's had some practice." KuliKuli giggled while holding herself in admiration.

"He is skilled with his tongue," Reta admitted rather reluctantly. "Perhaps it's because there is no other man nearby, or because he has had me before. But I miss his touch, his scent, and his need. The way he took me before, I need it again. But if what you say is true, then how do I convince him to fuck me again without lowering myself?"

KuliKuli crawled to her quickly, leaning in and lowering her voice. "If I'm being honest, we haven't had sex since that night. We have all been tired after and have kept busy with a lot of things, but if you're really sincere about wanting him again I could share him tonight if you'd like. I know his body pretty well, but you'll have to do what I tell you to do. Unless you don't mind watching again?"

Reta grumbled to herself before locking eyes with her. "To some extent, sure. But if you push it, I will punch you."

KuliKuli chuckled nervously, this might be risky for both of them if things don't go well. But perhaps this could prove helpful for everyone, Felix seemed rather tense after all, Reta was needy and KuliKuli?

Well, she was rather bored and simply enjoyed sex, what more could she want?
