It had been a busy day with Genki training first in the morning, and the afternoon taken up by their daily tasks around the farm. It was routine, normally nothing special that happened, aside from a Nekomata's fascination with her new abilities. Often when no one was looking, she would clap her paws together and practice meditating, each new attempt being a personal challenge for her to focus her Genki at a fast pace.

That night after she had finished cleaning the farm, she put her skills into practice one more time.

Her eyes grew big and her smile widened when her paws began to glow upon the fifth attempt, emitting a glow of light. But curiosity dawned on her, for the light was not as golden as when Reta displayed it, rather it was stained, tainted almost in appearance, by blend of dark and gooey black matter. It was neither overwhelming against the golden matter as both were orbiting around her paws, it looked like both the dark and the light shared an equal balance, thus producing a unique display in front of her.

She had many questions but unfortunately, in her shock she had lost her focus and in effect, lost her Genki at that time. KuliKuli huffed and tried to flex her arms and shake her paws, nearly bursting into a small fit before waving her arms around madly and hissing to herself.

"Something the matter?" Felix asked, shocking her from behind.

KuliKuli jumped and spun around, tucking her arms behind her while standing upright. "EEEP! No-nothing!"

He gave her a look, leaning against the wall with a knowing smile on his face before approaching her. "You're practicing again, aren't you?"

She shook her head at first, appearing timid and shy before him, until he held her paws and with a deep breath, a brief spark of gold ignited like a flicker in the light before disappearing.

He sighed and raised his eyebrow, shaking her paws in the process. "We can share feelings, remember? And besides, I don't need magic in order to tell when you have something up there that you can't shake."

She chuckled nervously and offered him a cute smile. "Maybe, but can you blame me? Ever since this morning, it's been so much fun doing this and making light from my paws! It's like having a secret all to yourself, knowing something that you don't know. It just gives me a funny feeling, but in a good way."

He smiled back, shaking his head and rubbing his eyes. "I figured this would happen, but remember what she said. It's good for us to practice, but if you overdo it you would be hurting yourself instead."

She sighed and leaned against the wall, groaning as he wagged his finger at her like a mother scolding her child. "I know she said you're thinking too hard, but we don't want you trying too hard either. This isn't for fun anyways, it's self defense."

"Fiiiiine." She huffed, crossing her arms and pouting. "Not like you're not having fun."

"I am, who says I'm not?" He made a puzzled face, looking around the farm to ensure no one was around. In a moment, he closed his eyes and breathed in, copying the meditation technique before a glow of light emerged from his hand, imitating the nature of a flame on a torch. He waved it around, throwing playful little jabs in the air much to her amusement. She clapped her hands, cheering him on as he tried throwing a kick when his boot slipped from the hay, crashing on his backside.

She giggled as he sat up and rubbed his backside, glaring at her. "There you see, try to beat that."

"One day I will. I'll do even better and surround myself with fire and shout Behold!" She shouted, striking a pose of intimidation with her paws raised for battle. "Fear the legendary fire cat!"

"Oh, do tell me about this fire cat?" He teased, joining in on her fantasy as he got back on his feet. "What else can she do to her sworn enemies?"

"I, I... I can raise my paws into the skies and cast a shower of flame onto those who oppose me!" She hollered, demonstrating with her paws above her head. "You'll see, I'll be the protector of my friends and family, of those who took me in for what I am. Yes, then it will be those evil doers who will be chased from their homes, no more would we be running from them again! No more enemies, no more nasty's, no one to tell us what to do or threaten us or our families again! Mwa-hahahahahha! Mwa-hahahahahahahaha!"

He reached for her paw, holding a finger to his lips for her to tone it down. Not to far outside of the farm doors stood Norowa Reta watching them from the well, with two buckets in hand and a look of concern on her face. She clicked her tongue and shook her head, dunking the buckets inside to fill them before retreating back in the cabin home.

KuliKuli's face turned a bright shade of pink as she curled into a ball and buried her face beneath her paws, rocking back and forth. He kneeled beside her and rubbed her back, leaning in and kissing her shoulder.

"You didn't finish, what role would I have to play for the legendary fire cat, conjurer of the flames and harbinger of doom?"

KuliKuli looked at him before blushing and looking down to the ground, her tails toying with clumps of hay behind her.

"Well, I guess you could be fighting alongside with me. Use your punches of power on their face while I make it rain balls of fire." She giggled, looking up to him with a hint of wonder in her. "You know, make that which seems impossible possible."

"I'd like that." He replied, helping her to her feet.

She paused and held his hands in her paws, staring into his brown eyes as the two stood still. The same thought coursed between them, she looked at him and he closed his eyes, breathing in as her signal to follow. For a moment, they held the other close and listened to the sound of grasshoppers chirping and frogs croaking outside. She sighed and felt a shiver climb up her legs, her fur and body tingling as he felt the same. For him, it felt like a gust of wind licked his bare skin underneath his clothes, his hands gripping her paws until that feeling they sought had reemerged.

"I feel you." She whispered to him, embracing him with her arms around his back. He held her just the same, resting his head against hers as behind closed eyes, a mist of gold and black orbited around the pair like leaves swept in the wind.

The scenery was exquisite and the feeling was beyond words. As the two held on tight, they shared a mutual feeling of longing for passion amongst them. She missed it, she missed feeling his arms around her holding her so tenderly and looking into her eyes with such compassion that it left her knees weak and her heart melt. Now she began to realize that he missed her as well, feeling his emotions of lament for the past event's and how he missed the way she would wake him in the morning with her cheerful smile and her little dance in their bed, starting his day with a smile. She shivered as she finally felt what she meant to him, and he felt what he meant to her as well. And so the two embraced each other forever in their souls, neither daring to let go as if making a mutual promise in their heads that they would remain there for each other, now and the day after.

He pressed his forehead onto hers, both of them nearly panting as the light revolving around them evaporated into nothing, and it was then that they opened their eyes to take in one another, his hands at her waist and her arms around his neck, accepting each other for a lover's kiss. Her tails wrapped around his waist, pulling his body into hers as they held onto this feeling for as long as they could, only separating when they needed to breathe.

"I don't want this to end." She whimpered, blushing madly with half-closed eyes.

He nodded and raised her chin, kissing her again on the lips before responding, "It won't, but let's take this inside. I doubt resting on haystacks would be pleasing on the skin, unless you fancy waking up with a few strands in your hair." He teased.

She scoffed and gave him a funny expression. "Oh please, I've slept in worse conditions than on some itchy dry grass."

"As have I, but why settle for that when we've the comfort of a nice bed waiting for us?" He said, whispering all the right words leaving her giggling with glee when a thought popped in her head.

"Actually, I have a better idea. But only if you want to." She suggested, leaning in and whispering into his ear as his blush grew wider and wider.

Reta had emerged from her bath, her blue hair matted and wet as she clumped the excess amount and tied it into a hair bun. She sat in front of the fireplace, eyes closed as she enjoyed its warmth on her flesh. How many days did she have left until the week of the full moon, she thought to herself. Was it three, maybe four? These thoughts refused to go away as the sight of the three moons stared at her through the window, and the bottle of sleeping potion atop the chimney seemed more appealing to her. That night, she made her intentions clear to drink the potion and sleep through the five days, yet they refused.

It left her wondering, why? Why not accept the solution she offered, it would put them out of any possible danger should the transformation take hold of her mind. It was a gamble that they were willing to take, there was no certainty that she would remain the same in her mind. But the way KuliKuli stomped and threw a fit, and how Felix stood his ground and assured her that there answer remained unchanged... well, she couldn't tell if they were being brave or foolish. Or maybe both, that could be it as well.

She frowned, thinking that night over in her head again and again, ignoring the sound of the couple's arrival as they entered and closed the door to the bathing room. Getting up on her feet, she walked over to the bedroom and retrieved the bracer. Rolling it in her hands, letting her fingers trace around the insignia inscribed into the metallic surface. A sigh escaped her lips as conflicting emotions began to resurface, clouding her judgement and filling her mind with conflict. She placed the bracer back in the cabinet drawer, pushing it shut when she heard two figures step into the room.

"Hey you." KuliKuli skipped in, hugging Reta's arm. "We wanted to see you before getting some sleep."

"You're wet." She grumbled, feeling her friend's soaked hair pressing against her shoulder. "Could you not dry yourself first before showing unwanted affection?"

"Nope! Tonight we want to give you thanks for teaching us this Genki stuff." She giggled, closing her eyes and staying quiet.

Reta's eyes grew wide as a new feeling surged through her, causing her to shiver and nearly lose her balance. Felix was there to catch her, laughing at what happened.

"Sorry about that, she goes a bit far sometimes." He explained, helping Reta on the bed. It was only then that she noticed that the couple were hardly dressed at all, only in their underwear with the Nekomata being topless.

KuliKuli pressed her paw over her chest, kissing her cheek and sitting on her lap. "Like I said, I, well we wanted to give you thanks. And, we wanted to show you what we learned because of you."

"It's up to you." Felix added, slipping behind the two. "You did say you wanted to feel desired."

Reta found herself out of breath, recalling that they hadn't shared a night of intimacy in over a week. But the way the cat girl was pressing into her body, Reta realized what the sneaky woman was up to. She wanted to frown, but instead a chuckle slipped out as she leaned back into his arms.

"Is that a yes?" KuliKuli asked with a smile, her tails waving behind her as she crawled over her.

"Well, it's not a refusal." Reta explained, her body shivering with excitement as Felix held her hands down. She looked into his eyes, then back to hers, biting her lip as she silently made her choice.

"Convince me." She teased, anticipating what waited for them tonight.
