"I think it's about time we stop a cab, Dave, we can't afford to get wet," Clark said.

The raindrops weren't that much so there weren't really enough to get anybody that wet but the clouds still looked dark and heavy which meant that the main thing could come pouring down on them anytime soon.

"Maybe this is just one of those misleading rains that just drops a few raindrops before the sky clears up again," Dave said.

"Better safe than sorry Dave, we'll be screwed if the sky starts pouring down on us and we don't have any cabs close by to stop and get on," Clark said.

Dave was quiet for a while as he stared off into the distance before folding his hands into fists.

"Then we'll have to beat the rain." He said.

"What the heck are you talking about?" Clark asked with a confused expression on his face.

'What the heck have I gotten myself into today?'

"How about we run a six-kilometer race, you and me?" The goalkeeper said.

"You want us to run?"

"Yeah, it's the only way we'll get there before it really starts raining," Dave said.

"Oh, come on Dave, I can't just start running on the road," Clark said.

"Why not?"

"Let's just stop a cab, why are you so persistent on getting there by foot?"

Dave stared at him for a while before turning to face the direction they were heading toward.

"Alright then, stop a cab, I'll race myself." He said before quickly zooming off toward the area.

"Oh, this is ridiculous," Clark said before covering his face with his palm.

He couldn't just get in a cab and leave Dave so he let out a sigh before quickly running after the goalkeeper.

'I've run six kilometers before, I can do it again and I even have better stats now.'

To take off his injury and get back to action on time, Mateo needed to keep working out in the little way he could and he wasn't going to neglect that.

He was currently on the exercise bicycle in his training room, he had been on it for about thirty and right now a large pile of sweat was beginning to form on his forehead.

The constant leg movements which had been going on for a long time now was beginning to take a toll on his muscles, especially the strained part but he kept on pushing until the door was pushed open for his mom to enter the room with a bottle of water in a small metallic tray.

"I've told you to take it easy Mateo or you'll just end up hurting yourself more." She said, walking closer to Mateo who had stopped paddling now.

"I know, mom, I'm okay," Mateo said before slowly raising his gaze to look at her.

"I know you are. My strong little boy." Martha said before handing him the bottled water which he quickly opened and took down half of its content.

"I guess it's okay if you call me that in here." He said before slowly coming down from the exercise bicycle to sit on the blue mat beside him.

"Your sister called me a few minutes ago." She said.

"Okay," Mateo said, casually.

"Don't you want to know why she called?"

"Is it something I'm supposed to know?" The winger said before raising his gaze to look at her.

"Yeah," Martha said with a nod

"What is it then?"

"Dave proposed to her last night." She said,

"Huh?"

"Yeah, they're engaged now, I'm so happy for them," Martha said with an excited voice.

'I guess last night's victory really pushed, he would have been too devastated to do that if we had lost or gotten a draw against Lesica United.' Mateo thought.

"That's good to hear but I was with Dave on the phone this morning and he didn't tell me anything." The winger said.

"Maybe he forgot," Martha said.

"I guess you can say that," Mateo said with his hand on his chin.

"I'm going to leave now so that you can continue what you're doing." She said before turning to leave. "Call me if you need anything and take things easy and slowly, you still have a lot of time to recover, no need to rush things."

"I know, mom." He said before she left the room.

As soon as her mother left and closed the door, he stretched himself to get in his push-up position but instead of having his hands stretched out he folded them into fists.

"I will not be an injury-prone player." He gritted as he slowly pulled himself up.
