Chapter 289: A Minute Of Added Time

Unique FC were the ones currently with the ball and they were being very cautious but Dynamo FC were pressing quite high against them.
They wanted them to start getting pressurized and then drop their guard and then start making mistakes, that was how they did it the last time they faced them last season although they didn't use this over defensive formation back then.
"Unique FC are doing their best to hold onto the ball and find a way to make a breakthrough, but Dynamo FC aren't making things easy for them," Jim commented.
Ferran tried dribbling past the defensive midfielder blocking his path and he would have attempted it, but when one of them tried to take the ball off him from behind, he had to move the ball back to Norman.
Frank quickly raced toward the right back to try and take the ball off him but before he could get to him, the right back sent the ball rolling toward Adolf.
Adolf trapped the ball under his feet before he sent it toward Roland just before Roland could get to him.
Afolf's pass was hit a little bit slowly and Now Roland was going to get in a scuffle with the defensive midfielder who was quickly heading toward the ball now.
Roland used his long legs advantage as he stretched toward the ball and pushed it a little further before running past the defensive.
He lost balance in the process of doing that, but he was able to stop himself from falling with both of his hands and once he was fully back on his feet, he kept pushing the ball forward until he found Fred and sent the ball to him.
"That was quite a clumsy pass from Adolf but Roland dealt with it nicely."
There was nowhere for Fred to go, so he had to send the ball to Mateo on the left wing.
"Mateo's got the ball now."
The winger quickly zoomed past the defensive midfielder who tried to block his path and right now he was heading directly toward the right back with the left back with one of the center backs heading toward him and the defensive midfielder still moving toward him from behind.
"He's on the move but he's not clear."
The winger tried to get past the left back and maybe try to send the ball into the box or something but that resulted in the ball getting sent out for a throw-in as the wingback placed his leg in the right place to stop his move.
"It's a throw-in against...Dynamo FC, looks like Mateo wasn't the last person that made contact with it after all."
Roland quickly made her way to the sidelines and picked up the ball for the throw-in.

"He gets past the defender."

The ball was sent toward the right side of the goalpost with almost no elevation at all, but the goalkeeper was right there right on time to block the shot before quickly grabbing the ball with both of his hands.

"That was close but Victor says no," Steve said.
Mateo bit his lower lip and shook his head in frustration before turning away.
"That was their first attempt of the night, their first shot, and their first shot on target and it could have been the opening goal but Victor came in clutch." Jim articulated.

It was quite ironic how the team that we're playing more defensively were the first ones to receive a shot but so far Unique FC had not received any shots and the first half was coming to an end.

One of the defensive midfielders was moving the ball down the right, and just before he could cross paths with Martinez, he shifted the ball to Damian who had left his position and position and shifted a little to the right but before the ball could get to him, Roland slid toward it and pushed it off toward the middle.
"Nice defensive work from Roland."
The ball was pushed directly toward Frank who had a little bit of shooting space.
"Uh oh, the ball has fallen toward Frank."

The ball was sent flying toward the top right-hand side of the goalpost as Alexander dived toward it at the right time and punched it over the bar with both of his hands.
"Oh, what a save from Alexander!" Jim exclaimed. "Looks like Unique FC's second-choice goalkeeper is no pushover after all."
The fans couldn't help but applaud the youngster after watching him make a save like that and Dave had to join them in applauding.
"He's good," Emma said.
"Yeah." The goalkeeper replied with a nod.
