After taking a deep breath he gestured at all the others to not move from their hiding spots, they gave gestures in return to tell that they understood. But didn't ask what he was going to do as they would be able to see soon.
Shiguan got ready for the run, folded his fleece for it to not be a hindrance in running then kept his sword in the backpack and picked a big stick from the ground to get the attention of the monster's. The idea was simple and most teams used it this way. The member who could run faster than monster would attract the attention of the monster's pack and would try his best to scatter them.
Usually, monsters chose to run toward the other monsters and considering the situation they would choose to follow the hunter and kill the hunter. It all depends on their choice and mood.
"What? Those monsters have their moods and choice? Why does it sound like having a girlfriend?" Qiao heard the explanation of the other chaser and spoke in a confused manner.
The other chaser heard him murmuring and asked, "Girlfriend? What is that? I have never seen such a monster in the Middletown forest?" the term and the word both were new to him so he asked even more confused.

One of the monsters who was leading others started to throw fire balls toward the chaser but fortunately Shiguan was able to dodge it. But upon seeing that fireball he understood the attack type of these monsters.
He felt that still four of them were running behind him after closing much distance. He then started shouting along with running, it was also a part of his plan to discourage monsters from following him and see which of them decided to keep tagging behind. Listening to his shouting all four of them started to throw fireballs toward him, taking his shouting as a form of provocation.
Now Shiguan was really in trouble as he had to dodge the four monsters attacking him with fire balls. A corner of his fleece caught on fire and he immediately pulled it off and threw it behind.
"We should follow behind the team leader now." Qiao voiced to gather others and they started to follow while they continued to hide from the two monster which were returning back after giving up at the mad chaser.
Qiao saw the fleece of the team leader on the ground and picked it up, then they rushed forward in a hurry.
They were not far behind but continued to keep a safe distance as it was necessary so that those two monsters do not catch them.
Two of the monsters chose to leave this and return to their pack of the race while two of them kept following Shiguan. Now the hill was in nearing and Shiguan did not stop there. Instead he brought out his small daggers and started to climb on the hill side with the support from digging them in the rocky and limestone rock. One of the monsters stopped and returned upon seeing the hill. Its body was huge and without any support or a path, it could not walk on it.
Moreover, it has lost the interest to further follow. These monsters were meant to live on the plain grounds so a hill was not suitable for their liking and they did not want to drag themselves to follow a chaser on hills. The team was following behind and when they saw the third monster leaving, they wanted to praise their team leader.
Today it seemed it was a good day for hunting and accumulating point to level up. They just needed to now make sure that they finished this monster swiftly.
Becoming stronger was priority for every hunter and every monster. So they rarely chose peace against the option of battling, until they get what they aimed for.
Without becoming stronger, the monsters cannot waste their effort on the hunters either, or they would end up as the victim and the monsters clearly knew about this fact.
The fourth monster was trying its best to catch the chaser while Shiguan intentionally did not create much distance to let it believe that it was about to reach the chaser and split him into pieces.
